I want essentially anyone but an English team. it's slightly less special playing them in these games rather than a team from another country and I wouldn't be that confident about playing any of them, they're all ahead of us for a reason (although I would say we would probably be favourites against Tottenham now). Anyone else would be OK, if it's Barca or Juve then we would be underdogs but I don't think it would be beyond us to beat either of them and the two legs would be brilliant occasions while if it's Ajax or Porto then I would confidently back United to get through.
Yeah fair summary.

Actually think Man. United (and a few other English teams) would've struggled massively v Atletico Madrid so think it's good news for them all they've been knocked out.

These draws are all rigged, we'll get Juve I can already see the headlines about Ronaldo returning and all that. Meanwhile Liverpool will get Porto and City will get Ajax or vice versa.

Small nitpick but why do you always call us ‘Man. United’ but don’t do the same for City? It’s weird.

Wonder what the odds would be for no English team to get into the semi finals right now.

I reckon if any of them draw Barcelona they’re out apart from City who have a slight chance. Not because they can stop Messi but I think they’re the only team with the firepower over the two legs to outscore them.

City would be favourites, Liverpool would be 50/50.

Porto or Spurs would be the best. Ajax I think will be hard, but not a bad draw. Liverpool and City will be so big and so for the nerves I want to avoid even if knocking them out would be great. Juventus and Barca very hard and want to avoid, but I would not mind it too much.

Hope to draw Barca, just to get Messi to Amsterdam. United would be great too, would be very interesting.

Top teams that are likely to win it according to me

Juventus
Barcelona
City
Liverpool
Ajax
United
Spurs
Porto

in that order.

I’d prefer we play either Porto, Spurs, or Ajax in that order.

The draw I would prefer
United vs Porto
Spurs vs Ajax
Barça vs City
Juve vs Liverpool

The draw that will probably happen
United vs Barça
Spurs vs Juve
City vs Porto
Ajax vs Liverpool

We're just nailed on to draw Liverpool, aren't we? City to draw Porto or Ajax.

hopefully City draws Barcelona/Juventus or even Liverpool. they've been riding on easy draws in every round of every competition. plus talk of quadruple needs to end.

I don't want the english teams to draw each other. City blows the smaller teams away. Let's see how they fare against a quality team. And I'd love United to draw Juve just to see how you'd cope with Ronaldo. We trashed Porto last year, and I'd fancy us to do it again if we get them. Here's hoping for:

City - Barcelona
United - Juventus
Spurs - Ajax
Liverpool - Porto

A City vs Liverpool game would be lovely

I'm hoping we get Porto or Ajax, not because Ajax are easy (they could still beat us) but because I think our counter attack would work well. Would hate to draw Pool, City, Barca or Juve. Although Spurs are almost in a mini meltdown in the league at the moment I'm not sure I fancy playing against them in Europe either.

What has City done to be considered a favourite against a Messi led Barca?
Just have a better manager & squad overall, imo.

Of course the Messi factor has to be considered, and if he has a stormer then that's likely that, but they're capable of beating Barcelona. A more polished unit I think, and less reliant on individual brilliance.

People seriously overrating Juve based off Ronaldo’s performance last night. Barca and City are tougher draws than them.

Atletico's "tactic" of just sitting back and inviting them to cross made them look a lot better than they are. If United actually pressed and attacked Juve, I'd give them a reasonable chance of going through

I want to avoid Barcelona and City this draw. Everything else is fine. Second thought, doesn't matter who we'll face now, we'll get in the final and win it anyways.;)

I think as long as we don't get either Barca or City we have a chance. I see them as the clear favorites.

In order of preference:
Ajax
Porto
Spurs
Liverpool
Juventus
City
Barca

If we are able to get a draw against Ajax, Porto or Spurs we have a nice possibility to be in the semifinals.

I also feel like all these draws are rigged anyway but there is some pattern to it. We won't get Juve as we just played them twice in the group, Liverpool shouldn't get Porto as they played them last season in the play-offs. Then UEFA will not allow to make an FA Cup out of their competition, so at least one all-English pair is a must.

Barca - Juve
Liverpool - Ajax

City - Porto
United - Spurs

= Barca-LFC / United-City in the semis. Should be fun

Juve will have Liverpool's number. Our win over then was lucky as feck and they missed a lot of chances. Quite different to the PSG win for instance where we defended stoutly.

Plus in general, these big teams may lose the odd group stage game but are a different proposition in the knock-out stages.

Ajax in QF
Spurs in Semis (Showdown between the 2 managerial candidates)
Finals vs Juve (Nothing will please me more than seeing Ronny cry in Wanda after he celebrated vs us)

I was being facetious. Although I think we will get either them or Barca given the way our draws have gone this season.
