Can the thread title be changed? It suggests to me at least that the first fixture is at OT but thankfully we have the away leg first.

Even though they’re probably the best side in the competition, I much prefer Barca rather than one of the English clubs - underdogs yet again

feck Liverpool’s luck this season

instead of the fixture change could we move the match to Stoke, Messi's kryptonite.

Oh what a surprise Liverpool get lucky again feels like everything possible is trying to give them a trophy this season :houllier:

Hopefully Porto dump them out, we get past Barca then get Porto in the next round.

Only one team I desperately wanted to avoid and that was of course Manchester City. Oh well.

Being at home first is really not that big a disadvantage as some make it out to be. The first leg usually has a far more cautious approach.
You just contradicted yourself? If the first game is always cautious it nullifies the away advantage thus given you a huge advantage playing the second game at home.

Tough one. Knowledge made worse by abject BBC reporting. How could anyone forget that we played Bayern in the 1999 final?

To be fair though they had a very hard group. Also I would have expected Bayern to be hard too.

City having so much luck with draws. Spurs is not that bad and they have not had a single bad draw this season.

Could not have gone worse for us even to the point of having to reverse the away leg first. Then if we do somehow get through home in first leg of semi final.

My god we've been dealt some sh*t draws this season given the way the FA Cup has panned out too.

Oh well, seige mentality, everything conspiring against us but lets go at it in the way we have the FA Cup.

One this is for sure, if we do get to win the CL nobody would accuse us of lucking it out. We would have faced Ronaldo, Mbappe and Messi on our way to CL atleast!

Sick to death of the scouse filth getting these easy draws. That's twice in a row now they've gotten Porto in the quarters.

I like it and I do think we can beat them if we set up things right and raise our game.

I would play with Fred and Herrera in midfield and play Pogba further forward. Then have Martial and Lingard on the counter unless Rashford finds form again.
Barca is the third toughest tie anyway. Juve and City are far more difficult in my opinion.

Important thing is that we should be extremely clinical and take the chances we get. No faffing about like we did against Arsenal. And all our players need to pull together, Rashford for instance has been wank for 3 games running.

Trust Smalling to keep Messi on his back pocket :Dand exploit their defensive weaknesses. Barca aren't unbeatable and Valverde isn't Guardiola. It is certainly not impossible.

The fixture has been reversed. We play at home first. City are away first leg otherwise its a logistical nightmare t police two CL QF's in the same city

Quite happy with the draw - I live in Barcelona so can go out for a few beers when United come here.

The rest of the day's pretty standard. Scousers massive lucked out.

If anyone's getting tickets and needs advice on bars, restaurants, hotels etc... send me a PM!

Having PSG and Napoli in the group stages and then Bayern next round is lucky? City are the ones with lucky draws this year in all competitions
