The best draw we cold hope for. Should be an epic battle in the semis if we, as we should, beat Porto and you get through Barcelona.

McTominay to nullify Messi :nervous:

If we lose the home game 0-2 should we still have some hope? :nervous:

What if we beat Barca only to go out to Liverpool? :nervous:

City Liverpool final? :nervous:

I'm all for playing the best but this is a horrible draw

Get by the small task of beating Barcelona and we likely have a nerve wracking semifinal against Liverpool and a potential final against City :nervous:

Listen up, let's be hopeful, and (once again) enjoy the ride. The PSG result was immense, it was our night, wonderful in many ways. But, but.. let's just enjoy it for what it is, another building block in a squad that needs some development, resilience, and some additions. I think all four ties are pretty fantastic. Fantastic. Fantastic. All could, actually, go either way..however, I personally cannot see us winning this tie over two-legs. Barca, and Juve are not PSG... I think we will give it a go, and may surprise some in our response.. our 'big' players will enjoy for sure. But they have too much quality and experience. And as a club, they will also enjoy the tie. Every team loves a Man Utd knock-out tie, and why not.

Let's enjoy it.

I could not call the other three ties though. Porto are a v useful side. I doubt whether CR7 can win a tie on his own.. again. And I actually fancy Spurs over two-legs against City.

Wow. I love the latter stages of the CL. Love it. :)

Happy enough with Barca tbh. Massive CL quarter final, and while we are big underdogs, it is a doable task. The 2 I wanted to avoid were city and Liverpool tbh. Barcelona even if we lose is the excitement of a proper European tie.

This is a nightmare. Seems City and Pool could realistically be the UCL final :nervous:
Easy Semi-final path. Can't say they will definitely beat Juventus or Barca. But at least busy for 4 games.

The horrible thought has just occurred to me that it could be a City vs Liverpool final.... :houllier:

Barca, along with City and Liverpool were high on the list of teams I wanted to avoid

Great draw for Liverpool. Easiest draw in the quarters and they get the second leg of the semifinals at Anfield.

Difficult, but not impossible. Suarez isn't that good these days and Coutinho/Dembele are both hit and miss. Yes they have Messi but the rest of the team isn't as strong as the 2 finals. A fit and firing Lukaku could give Pique and Lenglet all sorts of problems.

Barcelona are hardly convincing this season. Are they better than us? Sure. But we beat Juventus and PSG away who are both better than Barcelona.

We'll go through just to get spanked by City.
I like your confidence. Barca have not lost at home in 30 games i think. A good 6 years or so ...

Big challenge, but at least avoid City or Liverpool. Don't like facing domestic rivals (except Spurs) so soon.

So? Wasn't the final

My workmate just said the same thing getting confused as the final was held in Barca
I'm just pointing out that maybe that's what they were talking about.

Well we will meet Liverpool in a semi if we beat Barca, nightmarish stuff. Hardest run to a final I've ever seen.

My thoughts too. But if we beat Barca we'll play Liverpool who are firm favourites against Porto.

I'm not sure why Tottenham is considered an easy draw. If they decide to turn up AND are healthy, they can beat any team in the competition.
Because they're Spurs. Bottlers any time a trophy is near sight.

I'm more confident of us being able to give Barcelona a decent game than I was when the PSG draw was revealed. Barcelona can be got at, they aren't all that.

Brilliant tie. Should be cracking games.
