I don't want him to lose the natural air of confidence the lad has but are we harming his long term prospects by making him think he's already an elite forward? I feel like his general game is so erratic and unpolished.

Said it before, he is a player capable of producing great moments but his overall 90 minute game leaves a lot to be desired on a regular basis. I genuinely do not think this lad can be a first team regular if we are looking to win big trophies unless he takes a big slice of humble pie and works really hard on all aspects of his game and simplifies it... i.e. becomes a work horse who understands his own limitations.

I think as a long term squad player he'd be a great asset to have around but I fear we have blown up his ego to such an extent - he would walk if he was told he's not good enough to make it here as a first team regular.

A big fecking humble pie needs to be eaten. Ability is there but there is so (unsurprisingly) much immaturity to his game, it's frustrating. The FKs he takes, why ??? What do we let him think he can score from there ?

He is english, and those traits never seem to go away.

Also poor sub by ole to keep him and sub off lukaku.

yes x 100 million. He needs 24 hours of continuous hairdryer treatment after that. Fecking Woodward might give him 300k a week, what a joke.

He seems untouchable much like Matic was under Mourinho

Mental that Lukaku was hooked off ahead of Rashford tonight

I think he'd benefit from having someone performing alongside him. If Lukaku was banging in the goals it wouldn't matter, but he isn't, so we're placing a lot of pressure on Rashford's shoulders. He's still very young, and very unpolished. I think Sanchez was signed in the hope that he'd take some of the pressure off Rashford (and Martial) but that hasn't panned out either.

Ideally we'd ship Sanchez in the summer, possibly Lukaku too, and bring in someone truly top class that can hit the ground running.

The problem is we can't not play him. I have no desire to watch Lukaku up front and Martial has done nothing to claim that either. Very annoying situation.

He confuses me and i cannot shake off the feeling that he is headed down the path of the dark side, the Danny Welbeck side.

Probably idolises Ronaldo.

But you would think a coach would pull him up and just tell him 'Listen mate, Yeah Ronaldo scored a few worldies with that technique. But have you seen the consistency that people who shoot 'normal' have had. Take a look at Messi's freekick record and come back to me.

Thats true with most of our player and not just rashford. People here like to massively overrate our players be it rashford or martial. Honestly both of them have still a lot to prove before we can be confident to build our attack around these two.

He’s clearly not fit though. Look at the difference between now and when Ole had just come in and he was rampaging all over the place. Wouldn’t doubt if he’s still carrying an injury of some sort.

Really poor sub by Ole today, Lukaku is our main goal threat and I was really disappointed he got taken off instead of Rashford

He had a poor game, but he produced by far the best moment of quality in the game from a United player with his cross for Dalot.

I rate the kid but the arrogance he displays is weird. It's as if he's enabled too.

Under a tree.
Neither Rashford or Lukaku were good. But Rashfords press is simply much better. People who wanted him to come off I guess wanted Barca to have even more time on the ball..

He's never going to be the reliable, clinical number 9 we need. Once we find a natural goalscorer he'll settle in as a second striker and have a decent career here.

He's gone from not going for it at all to going for it all the time, the happy medium between the two will be reached in time. I like his confidence, all United players need that confidence.

It's the same confidence that netted the goal in the semi vs Celta in the Europa League.

How many free kicks has he scored? If I remember correctly he created a dangerous situation in a Europa match and has been taking fks since then.

I've been saying this for a while now, he's the most overrated player in the PL. In fact struggle to think of a more overrated player in Europe.

The second our opponents shut down the space in behind he becomes pointless. Somehow he seems to have enchanted the English media and a large section of United fans into thinking he's a nailed on world beater.

If he wasn't a local lad, there's a very big possibility he'd be on loan. Good player with good potential but the expectation and responsibility he's given is far beyond what he's capable of.

It's not even about scoring, if he was hitting the target or at least getting his shots close to it I'd get it. There is no way we don't have another FK taker who could try his chance.

Sell Lukaku and sign a top striker would be my advice. He’s a good player but he needs help when he’s not on form.

He is a kid who refuses to pass and is very selfish. Needs to be put in his place.

He isn’t a world class striker. There’s nothing that shows he is going to be one. His instinct inside the the box is non existent. He can’t hold the ball up. The only thing he’s got going for him is that he’s not as bad as Lukaku.

As annoying as young is he was our best fk taker on the field, in terms of going for goal but he never got an opportunity

Yeah we lost and he wasn't at his best but had Dalot scored that free header he would have had an assisst.

He's very limited for sure. Nowhere near ready to lead the line. Should be employed on the flanks imo.
