I imagine we'll stick with him til summer 2020, winning feck all and playing poorly like today and then grab Poch. Hopefully.

Clear the cnuts out and let Ole build from scratch.

Too many not good enough, not interested enough or think they’re bigger than the club.

It's the same old cycle again , we will waste more money and one more season before sacking him next season. Anyone can see it
It's not a cheap gamble. They'll find it really hard to sack him if he struggles big time because of the fan response and bad PR it would generate.

Our fans over the last few years have shown they'll do anything to absolve the manager of the blame. Whether that's Moyes, LVG or even a thundercnut like Mourinho. Now imagine that but with the whole club legend factor.
We'll struggle to sack him. I said so at the time

Not saying sack him at all. But you can’t say it’s all Ole when everything is going great and it’s all on the players when it isn’t.

It’s both. In fact it’s more than that, it’s the whole structure of the club.
Completely agree. But some here are already blaming Ole. Until Woodward, the Glazers and Smalling, Young etc go we will always be in this mess.

At the end of Mourinhos reign, it was definitely the manager. When Ole was first appointed, it was DEFINITELY Jose. Now that Pogba has stopped showing up, its definitely the players. This place needs to make its mind up. Realistically, what do you expect from the man who got Cardiff relegated and the former manager of Molde?
Can we think it's both? Solskjaer was a fantastic caretaker appointment but I didn't think he was the one for the permanent job and a lot of the players just aren't good enough.

The worst is the board getting an itchy trigger finger before the end of the season.

We are a sad pathetic team of overpaid shite players and unfortunately as much as it would be a dream for OGS to lead united to the top again I am starting to think that he is not the man we need. We are playing, dare I say it, worse than under mourinho with no apparent game plan. We gave lost something like the last 5 out of 6 games, that simply is not good enough not matter what the excuses are. Right through the club we are rotten to the core and I’m afraid we will only sink lower with the current structure - glazers/Woodward/OGS/Current squad

We were not going to make top four either way after Mourinho wrecked our season. So, more blame have to go to Mourinho than Ole.

However, Ole should have taken advantage of the performance we had during the honeymoon period and since it was over, he has been unable to motivate these players to put on similar shift.

I m not glad to say I was right, but United should have been more cautious with Ole’s appointment. Is it too late to get Erik ten Hag, his staff and Edwin Van Der Sar? Pochettino most likely would not come if we are playing Europa league. The problem with Ole is that, he doesn’t have the right philosophy to move us forward and it may be a risk to have him identify the players we need to rebuild United.
Pochettino was ready to come. He was eyeing our transfer budget which is significantly bigger than Spurs, it was the carrot we were dangling for him.

I wanted to wait until the end of the season and give it to Ole if he managed to get some good result, or give it to Poch otherwise. A 6th place finish isn't doing miracles or making the case for a permanent job, even Guus Hiddink would have achieved that with us.

Me too.

Yes the players are crap. But we saw Klopp and Peps intent on how to play when they first came to play even though the players weren’t up to it.

We don’t seem to have a clue and he needs to drop De Gea.
Fitness is a huge concern in this team I am not shocked that after a good early run with games in quick succession we’ve dropped off.

A lot of this is on the players, but it is worrying when we have players out of position, persistence with crap players rather than trying youth when frankly we have nothing to lose. We have no energy or enthusiasm. Subs are often terrible or late. We are looking worse than we did under Mourinho!

For starters, any of the current top 6 managers (maybe not Sarri) get more out of these players. The likes of Allegri, Ancelotti, heck even Eddie Howe sets his teams up to play the way we as fans demand and has much more experience in this league than Ole has.

I’ll ask you a question, who hires Ole in this league or any of the other top leagues around Europe if we don’t? I’ll answer it for you. No one.
Based on what?

The decent football stopped after 3 games and now the good results have stopped. No signs of us developing a style at all.
They got called out and immediately stopped playing for him. They are in control.
We've been rubbish long before Ole started calling them out. His first 3 games were the only ones we looked like a proper side in.

I'm scared because the first thing Ole said when he became manager is that he wants the players to play freely like they want to.

I'm starting to find us tactically void.

I am not sure what style is he trying ro achieve. Seems more of like Mourinho but a much worse version. Defend deep and hit on the counter. He talks the talk but he has not shown he can back it up. I feel bad for him but he really seems out of his depth here.

Also Woodward sitting there. Wish someone just smacks him hard. His face makes me angry now.

This I shocking now. I don’t understand why the club couldn’t wait at least until we had a bad run of form to see how ole and his staff reacted. Man united needs a special manager one with an identity and playing style, I don’t think ole has that, even after all this time I don’t know what football he plays, it’s kind of like a shit version of Mourinho's football.

Yes the players are not the best but they are not half as bad as they are playing. It’s the managers job to motivate them and oles not doing that. He still picking his favourites and making stupid errors like having rashford on set pieces.

This is not going to change with new signings, we will only make a couple 2-3 at most, anyone who thinks we are signing 6 first team players is deluded

The man is a blagger. There was no need to give him the job before the end of the season.

It can also be a bit of both, this squad isn't that good (probably 4th or 5th best in the league) but given the lack of football knowledge in the club and the weaknesses in the squad we probably needed a really elite manager who could bring the whole thing together, almost by themselves. Klopp has largely done that at Liverpool (look at their squad when he took over) as has Pochettino at Spurs, given that we've given Ole a 3 year deal we have to give him a chance to identify the right signings and hope that he can improve what he has with a pre-season but it's optimistic to expect that of a manager who everyone at Cardiff thought was out of his depth there.

Ole should get time to build his team but it's worrying how mismanaged/disorganised a team we look.

I love the guy, and he's a club legend but I don't know where all this faith in Ole as a manager is coming from. Surely the tap-in in 99 has not bought him this much credit?

and "knows the United way/what United is about" is nothing substantial and just a bunch of fluff people tell themselves to feel better. I have not seen a thing that leads me to believe he's the man to lead/be in charge of the rebuilding process United supposedly needs. Even in that winning run, we won a substantial amount of games against the run of play.

Based on common football knowledge. The likes of Klopp and Poch both improve players whilst having ways in which they get their teams to play. They might have this lot challenging for league titles but they have them playing better than the shit they’ve been serving up since the new manager bounce wore off.

If you also think Pep couldn’t get a tune out of the quality players we do have in our squad then I’m not sure what I can do to help you.

In the game of the current team there is no pattern or structure. And honestly, I think it's Ole’s fault. Even with this selection of players in these couple of months it was possible to build the foundation of that football which we will see next season but with better players. Klopp and Pep did not immediately begin to dominate either, but after a couple of months of their work, it was obvious what kind of football they wanted to play. And for these couple of months, I only see that next season we will play cowardly football with a parked bus.

If he takes us to 6th, it means he has performed as a caretaker manager should. Whole point of giving him the permanent deal is him overperforming, but a 6th place finish with 2 wins in recent 8 games (so far) isn't overperforming.

Has shown tactical naivety, though he is hamstrung by the squad. Also indulges Rashford too much.
He was appointed because of a good run of form against pure trash. We beat a bunch of rubbish teams and bemusingly was appointed permanent manager. Since then, we played PSG, Arsenal, Barcelona, Wolves and Everton and were being played off the park every game. Lets not forget Spurs in the league where they should have beaten us 6-1. I dont even blame him. Our fecking stupid board has fecked up again.

Where we even looking for a first team manager before signing him?

Seems so BS that we though we'd get someone great in, but then just sign the person we'd got in as interrim.

Not a knock on Ole, but it's a huge risk to give him a summer of spending. We need people like Klopp, Guardiola, even Pochettino who are tried and tested in the transfer window.

Ed and our board are killing us man.

I'm suggesting that in isolation. I'm saying within the context saying that some of these players deserve a chance which to me suggests they haven't had one. I get the give Ole a chance and anyone offering anything else must not be a fan, entitled to a different opinion or talking shite, but for me this is a massive summer. We have an unproven manager, a squad that has proven to not be good enough and question marks over whether our best players want to stay or not. All of this might sound like I'm be negative, for me thats factual. Not saying that we won't sign some players as we sign players every single season, just it's the quality of those that will still be here that concerns me.

I guess time will tell.....
Hmmm......

It isn't going well at all.

When he said 6 players couldn't be signed it was effectively giving up on next season already.

It's also worrying how he hasn't changed a damn thing
We've been dominated before it went 1 nil
At 1 nil
And at 2 nil

He's kept all the same, no changes at all

And that's from his own doing of playing around 3 people out of position from the beginning

I got pelters when I said we should’ve waited until the end of the season. He still might turn it around but I knew as soon as it was announced our season would turn to absolute shit.

We should never have hired a permanent manager before the end of the season. I know some fans were and still are clamouring for everything to be sorted before the end of the season. But that was and is stupid. A short sighted decision that could come back to haunt us. The board wanted a quick win, they got it but it'll cost us.
Agreed totally with this. Have no idea why they nailed down Ole down. Could have waiting to see how the season panned out, seemed knee jerk after some early wins.

For the millionth time, Klopp, Pep and Poch DON’T WANT TO MANAGE MAN UTD and work under Woodward/Glazers. I’d have those 3 at Utd in a heartbeat but forget it, it’s not happening!

And the other underwhelming managers you listed would have exactly the same problems here that LVG/Jose/Ole is experiencing.

Our issues run far, faaaaaar deeper than the head coach.

The issue that we don't have anything to have faith in. So we just have to cling on to the first 15 games hopefully meaning something.

Thank feck it was only a 3 year contract.
We moan about Herrera not having the quality for United yet we give a contract to a manager who hasn’t shown he is capable or with the quality to make it here.
Not only are we getting beat a lot lately, but we are getting beaten easily.

I’m also starting to get worried. I was under the assumption we’d be getting a DoF in to help with things but now that looks like unlikely.

No DoF figures would severely handicap OGS’ chances of doing well in my opinion, meaning like all his predecessors he has to do everything by himself whilst Woodward blissfully counts the sponsorship deal money.

If there’s no DoF figures coming in or stepping up within, then I’d be sceptical about OGS being manager.

The same set of players, last season, helped us finish 2nd - the best we've done in the league since SAF retired. Beat every top 6 team on the way. We need someone who can get the best out of them.

This was also a worrying sign for me, you can't let players play freely against teams where every individual is coached to a high standard.

If Ole came in and we had a vision for how we would play under years to come, this bad form would be completely comprehensive. But I cannot see the point in backing Ole with 300 whatever million, for him to fail to galvanise the squad and end up jobless. This is almost turning into a Chelsea like situation but we don't have the success to back it up. Clueless ownership up top.

No excuse to play Matic, and leave him on when he's doing this. Scott is sitting there and is obviously going to offer more than the finished Serbian.

Other than that, a bit tricky with only 1 fully fit full back available, but our 'play' is so pathetic I just have to question what kind of coaching we're doing.
