Also wanting us to lose the derby is incredibly small time and pathetic. The state of this club now. Ole's at the wheel, is he feck.

I reckon we'll turn up, give everything and still get spankes by them. This'll be like PSG or Barca at home where most will think we played well.

I really couldn't care less about Liverpool fans. I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but there's a little bit of me that wouldn't begrudge them it. I suppose the last six years has put things in context.

What will be truly unbearable, and the reason I really don't want them to win it, will be the press. And not just the ex-Liverpool players who are overrepresented in it; the supposedly neutral journos (Samuel et al) will be even worse. It just doesn't bear thinking about.

Agree with all of this. Surely it's obvious by now that Smalling needs Lindlelof (or Blind ) to be able to play decently, and Jones makes him worse. I really don't want Matic back in, though fear that he will be.
I remember how unbearable their fans were the last couple of times they thought they were winning it. If they actually did win... and you know all those ChelseaMan City fans would soon be wearing red.

I'm not expecting much from us tonight. Our games have followed a familiar path in recent weeks. We come out of the gates like a shot with Rashford missing a couple of sitters before quickly tiring, sitting back and ending the game hanging on for dear life. I think Pep will be happy to play it safe, let us make a point and in doing so wear ourselves out early on, then they will slowly crank the pressure up until we're chasing shadows and they score 2 or 3 in the second half, if not before.

Won't watch after that Everton performance. Team doesn't deserve fan support. Expect City to crush us.

Sickened by this game, this season, this f'n squad. Just want this all to be over.

I don't think City will need to make any effort to beat us. All this talk about playing for the badge, putting in a performance. Its all words. We've heard all that s-t before.

The worst thing about tonight is not that we could hand Liverpool or City the title. Its that we're so far off them I don't even think we'll have an impact on the destination of the Premier League. We're not even in the conversation when it comes to the serious silver.
This is how I feel too. It's a joke that this fixture, which should be absolutely huge for us, has become just that but for all the wrong reasons.

    Nonsense.
I think we should aim for comfortable mid-table mediocrity next season, 10th-12th place. That way we can be fresh and ready when we face Liverpool so we can focus on taking points off them, without our own ambitions getting in the way of what's truly important.

And of course we'll have to lose both games against City, as even getting a draw against our city rivals could have disastrous consequences for our true goal.

To be fair, the very few Liverpool fans round me (Altrincham) in their days of domination, who'd obviously got into them purely for the glory, seem to have stuck with them.

Ditto. Though that familiar path seems to have been trodden more often than not for years now. Under Jose, we were even more likely to sit back in the event that we'd scored.

This is what I think Ole will play.

    Degea
    Young
    Smalling
    Lindeloff
    Shaw

    Pogba
    Mctomminy
    Matic/fred

    Mata
    Lukkua
    Rashford

    City front 6 maybe

    B silva
    Fernindino
    D Silva

    Sane
    Augero
    Sterling

Just can't see how Utd will deal with the press and movement of City considering how tired we look.

Absolutely psyched for this one. Expecting a response and if we get beat, it won't be through a lack of support from the stand.

We might get some help from the ref this time :). Normally they are always helping City against us, but they might want us to win this time to help Liverpool ;).

I'll lose a lot of belief in Ole if Matic or Martial are in the starting eleven. Talk is cheap, time to take a hatchet to some of the weeds in this squad.

I will watch it but without any expectations.

These players don't give a damn about the season, they don't deserve our support.

I've gone for 5-1 to United. I'm going and dont want to be watching us get beat at home by the bluenose cnuts again, last season was depressing enough. We need a performance, if we can't produce one against City at home after that shit-show at the weekend, I dont know if we ever can. I think we'll smash them.

It's a derby so unpredictable but regardless of the current thinking of prefering a City win to stop Liverpool, i think City have just too for us anyway. De Bruyne would have been a massive miss for them but having played half the season without him, i can't see it being to much of a problem. Can't see passed a City win with our current form. The unthinkable for me would be a draw which would pretty much screw up both clubs ambitions.

Can't go tonight, not disappointed, may not even watch it on TV too depressing, there is no good outcome from tonight, the only good game would be us playing them off the park fro 90 minutes then them sneaking a last minute winner 1-0..... reckon it could be north of 3 nil though

Pretty worried you lot are gonna raise your game and this'll be where we lose the league. Any win would be a great result for us. All about the league right now.

I’d be happy to park the bus take the draw and win against Chelsea on Sunday.

Even if we lose tonight, we have to hope that Wolves wins against Arsenal to leave us some hope, but a draw would be perfect.

But to be honest just seeing City’s form vs ours is irrational. We all know that they are in their best form and we are maybe even worse than with Mourinho.

We should be ready for a Spurs like game at Old Trafford with a heavy defeat.

Hope I am wrong but I can’t really see how we can cope with their pace, tempo and individuals.

Even parking the bus is barely enough to beat West Ham, let alone Chitteh…

I am still torn between watching this and Avengers tonight
We are in the worst form since 1981. 5 away losses in a row for the first time in 37 years. This season is madness.

Liverpool supporters in the office making us laugh. They're going to each United fan here wishing us good luck. They reckon we will take points off City:lol:

We've told them their blind because they clearly haven't seen the state of us lately.

I have this weird feeling we’re going to get something out of this game. City looked leggy at the weekend and our lads will be well up for this to make amends for Sunday. City managed to win at OT when we were at our peak with Rooney/Ronaldo and they had Darius Vassell up front. You just never know in a derby.

You're not the only one. The players wouldn't necessarily be raising their game, though, more returning to form.

Our squad seemingly pick and choose when to turn up. I wouldn't be surprised if we perform like world beaters tonight, only to offer up a gut-wrenching display next week.

This is how I feel it'll go.

We'll decide to put the effort in tonight I think, put our foot in and run about a bit.

Have one shot on target and lose 1 or 2 nil.

Guys, uhm ... I don't know. I just don't know. If we're on, we're on. If not, we're sort of not. Hard to say, but there isn't much pointing in our direction at the moment.

That would be a shame as Chelsea are the the team that is most important to beat. Then Huddersfield and Cardiff and hope Arsenal and Chelsea drop more points.

We are 13/2 for a game at Old Trafford, but as yet I'm not tempted to bet on us; crazy. I fear a pasting whilst hoping we get a response from weekend. The first fifteen minutes will tell us everything: whether we are going to be competitive or whether it's going to be a City siege. Let's see if we have the character for the battle.

Well Done spoken like a true plastic !!
Where as I dont really expect us to win, I want us to win and will always support the team thought good and bad.
But if by winning we hand Liverpool the title, would that not be deconstructing all the hard work SAF did to knock them off of their perch?

Liverpool winning the league will cement their position as a more attractive destination than us for the best players plus their fans would be even more insufferable than they usually are.

Im hoping for a new look team, obviously i am slightly deluded and optimistic!

    De gea

    Dalot lindelof smalling shaw
    Mctominay
    Fred andreas
    Greenwood rashford chong

Pogba martial have been awful. I included rashy because at least he runs!

Throw the youth in, big game experience and cannot be worse than what we have already.

I like fred and Mctominay together and i think andreas in a more forward role will be good!

    Yolo!

We deserve a perfomance tonight after the lazy woeful show against everton.
I will be supporting them as always as i have through good and bad times for many years before fergie landed and we got very spoilt with silverware.
Anyone saying they won't watch as theyve had enough are not true reds, just glory hunters. Go support Arsenal or spurs.

I dont want liverpool to win the league but there's no way i want to see us stuffed tonight to stop the scousers.

    Bring it on.
