You can't blame Rashford or Ole for him starting and playing all the time when the alternatives are:

Pub-team first touch, can't catch his breath Lukaku
"What even is sprinting?" Martial
And "what even is football?" Sanchez.

Martial never sprinting is better than Rashford in full fight. Martial is our only decent striker and it looks like he will be off.

I wouldnt worry about that.. no one is going to be remotely interested in matching Martial's new contract.

Under a tree.
Rashford is not the problem, he's a academy player thats been rushed into the first team. The problem is the trash recruitment we have been spending millions on that have been equally poor.
Rashford should be a squad player at this stage of his development, not a lead striker

Everton level player. Was always massively overhyped as are most English players and he really does not offer much.

He will get the benefit of the doubt for being a youth product.

Don't like his prima-donna flicks (where he can easily pass on the ball by keeping it simple, but ends up trying to make it look pretty and ultimately fails the pass all together). That's a very alarming tell in my opinion and he needs to cut that out straight.

Still think we could shape a very good player from Rashford but am fearful of the direction it's going in.

Please tell me Barcelona really offered 100m for "Rashy". Too good to be true.
No way they're that stupid.

He's not even Everton level. Marco silva is not choosing him over richarlison. he's bottom half level.

@noodlehair was another who didn't see why fans hyped Mbappe but shat on Rash.. well it is clear as night and day now.

Am sure we will see the 'but but Ronaldo also went through teething problems' too brigade come ride to his cause.
Mbapoe is obviously better, but at this pont he us obviously better than every young player on the planet.

The main thing that confused me is why people were obsessed with comparing the two just to shit on Rashford.

It would be like Palace fans shitting on Zaha every week because he isn't as good as Messi. Pointless.

We have enough shite players, managers, chief execs. Players with shit attitudes etc. To not have to invent ways to slag our own players off.

Will be the same if Rashford gets the contract he's looking for. Although I do hope better sense prevails at the club and they don't bow to his demands.

He’s good in patches but incredibly inconsistent and as such shouldn’t be playing every week. Not anywhere near good enough compared to what we’ve had over the years. Shame the Lukaku signing was not the correct choice.

Maybe it's more hope than anything else but I think he's been limping on through fatigue and niggling injuries for weeks just because he's still not as useless as Lukaku, Martial, Lingard or Sanchez. Far too much is on young shoulders.

I never inflated Rashford's bubble in the first place so nothing to burst. A couple of seasons of regular first team starts is a better indicator than a few games of fantastic form. Solid consistency.

He is a very talented young player who hopefully will eventually become world class.

I think if you hype too much and then get disappointed when your expectations are not met then perhaps you need to re-evaluate your own expectations.

Very much clear he is spending too much time with lingard on how to become mediocre.

He should have the decency to just give up with free kicks. I'd love to see how many he scores in training. You would think he scores loads at Carrington given how easily he is the appointed taker.

Have always been a bit concerned at the prospect of him as our main striker. But then Lukaku never felt quite right either.

The forwards aren't good enough to make up for the rest of the team. If they were, we'd at least have a more fun ride, and give ourselves a chance.

Klopp got their attack going first, and they could at least see the plan in place - if we can at least start putting a plan together it'll be progress

Spent so much time outside of the box when we were looking for a crossing option. It’s hard to say how he will develop, but it doesn’t look likely that he’ll become a truly elite attacker. He would’ve been more useful in a better team (who wouldn’t though).

Think we need to stick with him. Unlike others, he's still putting the effort in. Just going through a tough time right now.

We do but we first need to bust Ole's bubble about 'Rashy's' true level. The boy could be good if we would just curb his excesses instead of encouraging them

£300k a week :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

He's a bench player, a good impact sub. Absolutely nothing more than that. He also seems to have gone from confident but humble to flat out arrogant, needs a reality check, kid thinks he's Mbappe, you're not even close mate.

If he can sort his finishing out he'll be Vardy level, which will be fine for a sub CF. We need to invest in a top class goalscorer though.

He's one of the best young players to have come through in England in the past few years, but too much has been expected of him. He should be learning still, not expected to be the finished product. Definitely one to keep.

Rashford or some of our heavily criticized players is not the problem. I remembered during the honeymoon period, some fans were stating how Mourinho did a great job making our players appear shite. Well, I believe the same can be said with Ole since we don’t have a clue what his gameplan is. The players we have are good enough to definitely out play Huddesfield, but the problem is, our players seems to be instructed to play as individuals.

I just do not get this great potential conversation. A great central striker is usually 2 footed and does not shy away from headers. Plus Rashford is not good with his back to the goal. I know that a lot of no9s are selfish but his sticks out like a sore thumb. His movement onto the Left wing is just so that he can manouevre his way to the top left hand side of the box to take his favorite kick to goal.
He and lingard have learnt the art of running around whilst not really doing anything, from Mata. They always seem just a little too late to get on to a throughball, a header or a tackle. I consider it fraud football.
When you look at their total contribution to a game you will realize how little they actually do. I know being born and raised in Manchester is a feel good story but he is not that good and I would sell him.
We have 3 world class players in Pogba, De Gea and Martial. If we want a return to glory we should keep them but I would send Martial for some psychological counselling.
At the very least send rashford on loan somewhere and see if this potential materializes.
