Shocking. This is not acceptable. No matter what you think of the players we easily have a better squad than Huddersfield and Cardiff. It pains me to say it but OGS is completely out of his depth.

Another shit performance from this group of players under the fourth manager in six seasons and the first thought some have is to sack the manager again. Get rid of Young, Smalling and Jones and replace them with proper players and see the difference.
You're right to imply there's a schism and Ole needs time but what are we basing the desire to give him that time on? It's a complete balls up. He's really unproven at this level and it's beginning to show.

Every signal is there to cut ties now before more damage is done with this transfer window. But this is Manchester United and of course we will wait until 300 Mill has been spent and we’ve fallen even further behind the rest.

 Said at the time it was stupid to appoint him when we did, why the media and a large section of our fans including a lot on here thought we should appoint him just because of the PSG result I will never know. The club said Ole would remain til the end of the season and then they would decide, but nope they couldn't even do that.

Different squad and any player thats still here is the manager's will. Young, Smalling, Lingard and Jones in particular are Ole's boys

Well Potch, Allegri, Conte and even Tuchel for starters.

Hell I’d take Simeone than the crap that has been served up right now.
The Poch boat has passed I’d say. We left him stood at the altar.

Conte and Simeone are too defensive. Might as well have kept Jose.

Tuchel has a job. Unless you know something I don’t?

Ill just say that this group of players finished 2nd just this time last year. And in April 2018, when we were faced with handing the title to our bitter rivals - THIS GROUP OF PLAYERS put in an incredible performance to stop that from happening. This idea that they dont give a shit is utter nonsense.

Mourinho being the wrong choice doesn't make Ole the right one. One was never the right fit for our club and the current one is just completely out of his depth.
Woodward is the real problem. Until we get a proper DOF, a strategic long term plan, and a manager who can run with it, we will continue to flounder.

He will be fired if he doesn't get rid of the deadwood and get some decent players in. Just like any other manager.

Play young/smalling/mata/lingard/Rashford/Matic as your main players next season, he'll be gone before Christmas.

Amen. Cometh the time he'll back the players against the manager like he did with Mourinho and we'll be left with the same shit next time around.

Said it from the start. We blew our load way too early. Should have waited to all games were played and after this form, he would not have got the job.

Tuchels job is in danger and PSG have been linked with a few managers.

Conte rebuilt Juventus. He got 90 plus points in his first season at Chelsea. They weren’t defensive then.

If Ed sacks him tonight, what happens with Phelan? Does Phelan get a payout and go as well just 24 hours after being announced?
 it’s a good question

That’s the problem summed up.

Those players you mention have all just signed bumper contract extensions, the club is fecking clueless.

Even the selection of Greenwood to start is a sign of what a complete bluffer he is, playing to the gullible know nothing fans.
One of the most pathetic fanbase obsessions is this academy kids thing. Moyes part 2 has gone and played to their clamouring. Klopp, Pep, Jose seem to be know nothing's but gullible fan's seem to have all the right ideas and Ole's gone and given into them.

Even if he's not the problem and the players are, we aren't going to sack our entire squad in the summer, and even if we had a complete overhaul plenty of influences people argue are toxic at the moment would remain: new players could end up being enveloped by that air of negativity. It's his job to overcome such challenges and if he can't then he shouldn't be here. A beyond embarrassing end to the season all in.

Yes, giving Ole contract in March is simply stupid and Ed should just sack himself at this point. Having said that, we should be doing better than that and having the manager who knows what he is doing would be a nice change. We simply can't give Ole to do the rebuilding job of the squad just hoping he will turn it around. There is absolutely no signs of that happening, we will become worse if anything.

Exactly mate.

The farce about this whole situation is when we sacked Jose, we said we would take our time, wait till the end of the season.

I love Ole but he was never supposed to be the main man, just inject a bit of excitement into a shite season.

I think he will be sacked / walk tonight.

 never has a football club been in such a mess. Woodward is such a failure. He should be utterly ashamed of himself.

Echoing what was said above, this the worst we've been since SAF and that in itself should be food for thought. It's absolutely on the board too for hiring the guy full-time. Ole is doing his best but it's clearly not good enough. I suspect he's not established enough for our merry and of mercenaries.
For god sake. How many people are going to slate Ole without giving him his due shot...

There is so much division on the boards right now, but there are many threads that are talking up the fact that our club is toxic the players are downing tools again. That we need to clear the deadwood and sort out the team over a period of time, and that at least with Ole, as a club legend, he would have so much goodwill with the fans. For god sake, let's extend that goodwill to at least one transfer window before we chuck him in the bin with all the others.

There are many threads on this. How about waiting two months and see how many players we have moved on and what sort of players are coming in? How about reviewing the pre-season and seeing how the team functions when he has time to coach new things into the team and has all HIS players available.

I fully believe that the fast press we did for 10 or so games caught up with our players. At the same time we had a number of players who were intent on leaving, a number intent on walking around the pitch and the injuries caught up with everyone. There are no doubt some toxic elements in the dressing room, and lets face it a lot of the toxicity could be expected - everyone in there feels underpaid when they look across and see Sanchez milking the club dry for no return. There are many things that the club must help Ole with - he can't do it alone.

Give him a chance to be judged on his merits, no the shitshow he inherited.

We all know Ole is not sacking him because he wants to save face. He is also surrounded by 'united' guys who know sacking Ole would mean he will scrutinized internally.

Just have to accept another year before any changes tbh.

I just think we’re falling into the same trap again. It’s not the manager, it’s the players. No manager would get this shower of shit playing well.

We can replace Ole with Conte, but you can’t turn Phil Jones into Nesta.

He says the right things, I’m buzzing every time I hear him speak.

The players come out and give us the ‘we must do better’ bullshit every week.

Then on match day they all fail to deliver, it’s a massive sham. The club is in crisis from top to bottom.
Glad someone else noticed. This pisses me off almost as much as the results.

Stupid time to appoint him. We should've waited until the end of the season, and he surely wouldn't have been appointed.

Sack him and get a real manager before the start of next season.

What's he actually done to earn that shot though?

He's still going to have this shitshow next season - we obviously aren't going to have a literally entirely different side come August. He'll have to cope with a lot of the players he has now, the same ones he was winning with back in February.

Yeah I'm starting to get on the board of sacking him and trying with Poch. No shame, I was wrong before.
Aye it’s easy for us to admit. Well it’s not.. but you know what I mean. Imagine the scrutiny for Woodward and the absolute shit storm Neville and co will kick up, not to mention a payout for Ole. It would be completely embarrassing for Woodward and that’s the reason why he won’t be big enough to admit this major, major feck up.

Some people saying it would look terrible to fire him now, I’m not sure that’s the case at all. I think most would understand that we have been in relegation form for a quarter of a season, that we need to bring a quality manager in to attract the caliber of players needed to get champs league next year and Ole isn’t that.

I backed him as the man to get the job on the back of the initial run but it’s clear he is out of this depth now. So pay him off, there’s no shame in it. Yes they should have waited but they got swept up in the clamour from media and a lot of fans to appoint him.

I think he should actually consider stepping down tonight.

If we can’t get the amount or quality of players needed this summer, he will be doomed before the first game. If he then loses any more than one out of the first three games then he will be on his way out.
