Van Gaal identified him as one of his preferred signings, knobward probably blew it
I distinctly remember Mane saying, what, we weren't the right 'project'? That's in and around the Disneyland theme Ed was pushing. Seems like two and two to me.

But wait for the dust to settle and the Woodward sympathizers to swarm in

Exactly. He kept face saving behind the managers all these years.

It was between him and Pedro. And we fecked them both up anyway.

Few years later and we still don't have a RW. Do hate how this club is run.
Were we after Pedro?

Makes me laugh when the board and Woodward threads get bumped when our rivals do well. It's the most visual knee jerk reaction you'll ever see.

the majority of United fans were pissed
I was actually ecstatic we were after him as i did my personnel tracking him before when he scored 3 in 5 mins and destroyed mourinhos Chelsea. Was furious when klopp 's Liverpool got him.

He didn't like Van Gaal's football so he chose Liverpool
No one liked van gaals football but you would think the Manchester United name, obscene wages and marketing potential could turn a head

I’m just glad people are realising where the problem lies.

He's not the messiah... he's a very naughty boy
I almost feel sorry for Woodward. Our near neighbours just won a domestic treble. Our biggest rival won the Champions League. Both played fantastic football.

Every CEO, agent and Chairman in the game is going to see us coming and double the price for any player we're after. Seeing as Woodward's raison d'etre is to make the club money, he's between a rock and a hard place. Can't sign players unless they have release clauses or fee's have been agreed by other clubs without the fee escalating massively. Cannot offer terms to the player that won't be hugely inflated.

Equally he can't come out of this window looking like he's not tried to bridge the gap.

Almost feel sorry for him.

That knob has dug his own grave and got paid just over four million pounds in the latest accounts, don’t go to far on the pity

Sure, which is why I said almost. That said, you have to agree that he's going to have a fecking nightmare job this summer trying to appease everyone. Fans and new manager wanting signings. Board and shareholders wanting value for money. No way he's going to come out smelling of roses for everyone.

How do you extend a manager, not back him, then let said manager do everything to get himself sacked and wait till xmas to get rid?

And then not giving ole a winger or defender in January?

Yes its knee jerk but feck him. Our club is in ruins while our rivals are dominating.

Sign some feckin players. Sell some feckin players.

That exactly tells he has very little foundations to get his way in the market, when other clubs can do it why it just us struggling.

We’ve been in free fall for years now. It’s genuinely disheartening seeing our other rivals doing so well, and I don’t see anything changing anytime soon. Our club is in need of massive changes starting from the board to the team. Years of crap decisions pile up and Woodward/Glazers are responsible for a huge part of it.

Because we're desperate, simply cos we've had 6 years of pretty much shite (albeit winning more than most clubs still). Also because of the situation with our nearest neighbours. Remember those years when we used to laugh at Liverpool over-paying for mediocre players. That's us now.
We appear to have little skill in the market. Everyone knows that the premier league teams are loaded. Everyone knows we're pretty much the most loaded of the lot, and worse, we have a poor team in desperate need. We're seen coming a mile off.

Are we really blaming Woody for not getting Mane? We were literally mocking Ed for going after Mane after having pursued former CL winners!
We were after Pedro that season initially and then became heavily linked with Muller. Towards the end of the summer, Mane's name popped up and nearly all of us were against that move. If anyone is interested in knowing how highly he was rated by us when we did not sign him, you can refer to this link- https://www.redcafe.net/threads/sadio-mané.408248/ (Don't want to sign an online feud and hence not quoting posts).
