Bernardo has turned into a world class player this season. He’s always been pretty crap for us in the past but it’s obvious we’ve figured it out. Was brilliant tonight and vs Switzerland, Dias was the best player on the pitch tonight though.

This is a team win through and through though, Bernardo and Ronaldo are stars but they play for the team. We’re a national team but we’re run like a football club. You can change players, lose our best defender and it doesn’t matter. That’s how football should be played.

Incredibly proud. In the past 3 years we’ve killed the ghost of Greece 2004.

This trophy was a huge success and very competitive. We will see in 10 years how relevant it will become.

2 international trophies in 3 years! Great time to be Portuguese.

I'm honestly still not sure what the Nations League really is, but fair play to Portugal for winning it.

Bernardo the best player on the pitch by miles for me. He's done a number on De Jong, and the entire dutch defence for that matter. Even Van Dijk went into panic everytime he got the ball into a bit of space

Also great game by the Danilo-William duo and the CB duo for Portugal
He's been insane these last 2-3 season really picked up at Monaco and kept improving. This was meant to be Isco who's very similar but hasn't had that same bite I see in B. Silva.

Patricio; Semedo-Fonte-Dias-Guerreiro; Danilo-William-Bruno; Bernardo-Guedes-Ronaldo

No Félix. Very defensive with Danilo and William together, @SCP will get so pissed

I like the lineup though.
The real winners of the tournament. Luso British beer hooligans. ;)

Don't Portugal automatically qualify anyway having won the last Euros?

Two finalists certainly did not play like it was a friendly. Good competition.

It's the same as the second Copa tournament in SA to have a bit more competitive competition but for European teams.

Good game and good tournament. Really impressed with Bernardo Silva tonight, such a tricky player.

Netherlands need a striker from somewhere.

This is a different team from 2016. We’re much better now.

Wouldn’t call it a golden generation though. This was our best match in over 2 years.
Ahh right, I don’t follow them much to be honest but they don’t seem shy in winning stuff these days. Gone the opposite way to Italy for example.
I’m happy for them

City's best player this season too. Don't feel he's had the credit he's deserved this year. For all the hype over van Dijk, Bernardo has been just as impressive.

How happy is Ronnie even with all he's won. Still so enthusiastic.

I miss him:(

What am I not seeing with Frenkie de Jong? Kid refuses to try a defence-splitting pass it seems. Is Koeman asking him to play conservatively?

Wtf, so what's the point of this tournament then?
The Nations League final 4 knockout stage was just for glory. It offered no other incentive. The playoff spots were for the group winners in the Nations League. This also includes groups in the lower divisions.

It’s a strange format. Wales for example could have benefited in losing their group, going down a pool and then winning next year for automatic qualification to a tournament, if I’ve got that right

Thanks :D

Any young forwards ready to break through for you guys? You desperately need it.

Dutch CBs in 2006: Ooijer and Mathijsen
Dutch CBs in 2019: Van Dijk and De Ligt

Dutch forwards in 2006: Sneijder, Van Persie, Kuyt, Robben
Dutch forwards in 2019: Bergjwin, Depay, Babel

You just need to get it right all at once and then you'll beat us

Dumfries is the rb though... but you are right. Add Robben, van Persie and Sneijder and they would be almost unstopable.

Well.. a decent goalkeeper would help too. Cillessen is shit.

Looking at the current youth players coming from Ajax and the recent under 17’s performances I wouldn’t be much worried. And the same applies to Italy.
