The most exciting part about next season. Ole has underlined this many times - blooding youngsters and bringing them to the fore - the most positive aspect of his appointment IMV.

Laird and O'Conner have possibly a lesser chance to get games here next season, what with 6 centre backs (including Tuanzebe) on our books and the club rumoured to be after a new centre back and a right back.

Henderson might go on loan again, getting games in the Prem as first choice, but we don't know what's gonna happen with de Gea.

But the quartet I'm most interested in is Garner, Gomes, Greenwood and Chong. Will these boys all get decent amount of games next season? I'd prefer to see them get all the Europa League group games (leaving key first team players at Carrington for Thursday away games, refreshed for league games).

Do people think they'll all get a fair chance this season with Ole in charge? Who will go out on loan? Will anyone do a "Sancho"?

I would shift Mata and give Gomes his game time, Gomes is a gifted creative and energetic player, Greenwood is another exceptional talent, can use both feet, has a natural football intelligence, he is super confident and is a lethal finisher, he should be in the setup next season, Chong I think is less mentally developed imho, he likes to run and attack in a positive way which is great but he is often clumsy in doing so and his decision making might not be up to it either at the moment, does'nt mean he can't get some minutes in of course and see how he reacts, a positive with him is how strong he has come back from his injury. Having said that, the coaches at the club, Butt in particular will know when it is best to deploy them, he spoke recently about it and how vital it is to make the right call on putting in certain players.

I would certainly like to see a few of them get their chance. Gomes, Garner, and Greenwood, look like they are ready for the battle.

Lingard will break through next first team, he has too much potential and still young.

Gomes will take a Lingard-type career trajectory. He'll be into his early twenties before he's ready to make an impact, imo. This season is way too soon.

Garner will need to go on loan at some point. Whether that's 2019/20 or not, remains to be seen. Holding midfield is all about experience.

Greenwood is precocious enough to make a splash at some point next season. Lukaku's future/replacement will determine that.

Hopefully we get an easy Europa group, last time we had a tough group by Europa league standards with Fenerbace and Feyenoord

Why do we feel we have to send most of our young players out on loan. Other clubs just promote them like Arnold with Liverpool Wan Bissaka with Palace etc. We seem to have a fear in doing this except for class of 92, when Fergie introduced 5 in one season and won the Premiership.

I only mentioned a loan in relation to Garner. And I gave a specific reason as to why that might be of benefit.

The main problem is the quality around them. I hope Daniel James hits the ground running and that Pogba stays because these youngsters will need two or three players who have got actual quality on the ball to make any kind of impact.

Grenwood for example, he can have all the talent in the world, but if most of his passes are exchanged with Ashley Young and a slow and tired Lukaku, there will be no end product...

Laird and Greenwood are the ones with the abilities(Physical and technical) to be great. The others have limitations that needs to be fixed or adjusted for.

Chong: Will get bullied, and not good enough technically.
Gomes: Should get some HGH treatment ala Messi and must play in a possessionbased team.

Garner and Levitt could become good options in midfield in 2 years time.

Greenwood looks the best bet for me given how inconsistent and unreliable Lukaku, Martial and Rashford were last year

hoping to see a bit more effort from Martial and a bit more consistency from Rashford but Greenwood looked really bright - it's time for a breakthrough especially given the Europa League games

How many chances the youngsters get will depend on who leaves this summer. There have been talks of a big clear out, but that Ole wants to do it over two summers, this one and the next.

Up top I can see 3 out of 6 leaving, Mata, Sanchez and Lukaku. That means Rashford, Martial and Lingard remain. I assume James will take one of the three open spots, and we have been linked with cheaper options for a more classic No. 9 than Rashford like Haller or Ben Yedder. This would leave one spot open, which I would like to see filled with a proper right winger that can push Lingard out of the starting line-up.

This means that Greenwood and Chong would be 7th choice next season. Greenwood is 17, and for him the U23 and a chance here and there in the first team should be enough. Chong turns 20 this year, and should prpbably go on loan to get more playing time.

In midfield Herrera has already left, but the rest seems to be remaining, at least until next summer, where I can see several leaving. We have been linked with Longstaff and Fernandes, and I think we will buy one. This would make Garner and Gomes competing for the 7th spot. I'll say the same here as above. Gomes is older and should get a season on loan, Garner can play U23 and get a chance here and there.

In defense we have lost Valencia, and I can see Rojo and Darmian leaving, maybe also Bailly. If we buy a RB and a CB we will have decent numbers across the back line. I don't see the purpose of keeping Tuanzebe and TFM if they have two or three senior players in front of them. Loans or sales with buy back clauses would be best for the pair of them. Laird and O'Connor should still have a lot to learn in the U23, and like Greenwood and Garner they could get chances in the first team.

The GK position should remain the same as last season, which would give Henderson another year at Sheffield.

To conclude, I don't see many openings for youngsters next season, as we need to rebuild our squad at a reasonable pace. The season after next though, I can see Henderson, Tuanzebe, Laird, Garner, Gomes and Greenwood all becoming regular members of the squad.

Going to be dissapointed if Angel Gomes doesn't have a role next season tbh. Greenwood will for sure and that's exciting, Chong I think more needs a loan, Gomes needs to basically replace Mata's role. He's quality and just looks a lot more refined than most 18 year olds. Gomes and Greenwood the main 2 youngsters to get minutes though, of those who didn't get regular time last season.

Greenwood & Gomes.

Greenwood has done brilliant in youth team & against Cardiff he looks very promising, he deserves to be involved in first team next season. I actually want to see him be important part for first team.

Gomes is on his final year of his contract, he’s 19 and he deserves to be involved in first team squad. When you look at Mata & Pereira contribution last season, there is no reason to say it will hurt us to give him chance over those two.

I don’t see spot for Chong next season, he should go on loan for improvement & games time. I think his playing time will be given to Greenwood & James more.

Laird & Lee might need to spend more times with the youth first. Can’t see Laird & Lee are getting the first team playing time if we sign a new right back that means we are settled with 2 right backs & 2 left backs in first team.

Garner. Not sure whether he’s ready. If he’s ready, I would love to see him playing.

Yeah, I hope so too. But even if we don't, I don't want us to look at that as "our way into the CL". I'd much much rather we give everything in the league and the Europa League serve as game opportunities for youngsters and squad players on the periphery.

Taunzebe should be given regular games next season. As should Gomes and Greenwood.

Not seen anything of Garner, Chong hasn't impressed when he's played. Maybe a loan?

Think Angel Gomes leaves the club if he doesn't get some good game time this year.
Those were the rumours at the end of the season (hence my asking who'll do a Sancho).

It's hard to predict how we'll lineup not least because we don't know what's happening with Pogba. Whether we might actually play with two strikers and two wingers at times or if we're mostly going 433.

Can James play on the right or is he solely a left wing operator?

Why Gomes’s case has put you question who’ll do a Sancho. Both plays in different role & position.

James should be considered as backup option not first choice, surely we signed him not to be regular player this season.

I think we will play 4312 more regular basis, I just can’t see us signing anymore attackers even if Lukaku leaves still can’t see us signing RW for Sancho’s backup option. I think we will focus more on strengthening defense & midfield which is to me is the right thing since we need to focus on those if we want to get back to CL spot.

But 433 is still very possible. We can still go 433 with James as Martial backup & Greenwood (he will do the Sancho) plays on the right side.

Leaving a club who refuse to give you game time to be successful at another club has nothing to do with role or position. Can also call it doing a Pogba.
Misunderstood. I thought what he meant who’ll do Sancho is who will take the RW spot since he was our original RW target.:lol:

So Dylan Levitt, Ethan Hamilton, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood and James Garner are all training with the first team. Hopefully most of them will go on the tour.

We really need a player in the mould of Dylan Levitt in the midfield tbh.

I've not seen much of him, what makes you say that?
He’s a ball playing central midfielder with a proper passing range. A creative passing range, not just someone who passes in front of his back four.

I think we need a midfielder who is first and foremost in the team for ball manipulation, and not as a 10. Will add some balance to those being played for height, stamina, tackling etc. Levitt is the type who would want to control and create in a game as his primary objective.

The club must rate Garner very highly to involve him so much to date - do you think he will be put out in the event that Longstaff is signed? They seem to have similar profiles and styles, from what I’ve read.

Also, who do we expect to go out on loan?
