Ok, still makes no sense to me used in that context! I guess I'm not down with the kids.
41 year old talking to 58 year old about a 69 year old guy, maybe that's why there is a confusion :D kidding btw

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Final confirmation is from a fan on a stadium tour. I love the internet!

He said he also say RLC there as well so I'm guessing his contract renewal will be announced at the same time.

If they do CHO's as well I might not be able to handle it.

First post and where better to start as a Chelsea fan...

I wouldn't say I am against the impending appointment of Lampard, it's exciting and intriguing but not optimal. I think he done some good things at Derby, they did finish the season well while under pressure of letting a playoff spot slip and he incorporated youth well. They were very lucky against Leeds in the playoffs, largely dominated in the first leg and could have been 3 or 4 down going into the second leg but were alive and were gifted a way back into the tie by individual errors from Leeds.

Obviously Frank is not getting the job because of his body of work as a manager and if he hadn't played for us wouldn't even make a 20 man shortlist in other circumstances.

I think there is probably a part of Frank that thinks it's too early but it's simply a chance he can't afford to not take. People say the Chelsea job comes around often which is true but really there is no way of knowing where Frank's stock as a manager would be the next time it does, or the time after. Derby have a very ambitious owner, perhaps unrealistically so and have been through more permanent managers than Chelsea have in the last 6 or 7 years. If Frank was to remain at Derby I would make it 50/50 he would survive another full year there so I view anybody saying he should stay where he is for now (have heard several in media and punditry suggest this) quite ill-informed as well as unrealistic.

People will and have thrown "how much experience did Zidane or Guardiola have?" out there but again while the possibility is there which would be great the chances of that are slim.

I think the downsides of it being a non-optimal appointment is countered by it bringing a feel good vibe to the club which is long overdue and hopefully alongside the transfer ban can create a sudden core of young players (Loftus-Cheek, Hudson.Odoi, Abraham, Mount, James) feeling like they are a real part of the club and enjoying being together in a group which will not only have a short term benefit to the team as we saw towards the end of last season but also long term in that to have a handful of academy graduates in the first team squad will make it less likely another Hudson-Odoi situation occurs in the future where a young player just can't see the path.

Anyway, as always at Chelsea, one thing it won't be is boring!
