Yes I had to change the Kenedy one

How did Barkley get on anyway, as he's a player I admire quite a lot and someone i'm hoping can do well under Lampard?

He played well, score a nice direct free kick. With RLC out injured and Bakayoko & Drinkwater being garbage he'll be getting a lot of minutes.

Probably should have cut back on some of this pre-season, and stayed closer to home. Going away midweek to Geneva before community shield doesn't help either. City only play 4 friendlies, and we've decided to play seven. It was same last season playing that many, but now theres no incomings, already picked up a few injuries, star players are not back. Terrible prep.

Sounds pretty normal and what most clubs go through in pre-season to me.

That’s the first team Liverpool defence (except for Alisson) conceding the goals. Glorious to watch even if it’s only preseason. Hope all the games this season means they run themselves into the ground

I see they had 8 preseason games planned but the game vs Schalke has been cancelled. It does seem strange that they arranged so many games considering finishing late with the CL final, AFCON keeping players away from training and the fact you have an extra game vs City in the Community Shield. Has Klopp had anything to say about it?

They always play that many pre-season friendlies since Klopp came in.
He apparently puts them through a double session before the games aswell, thats probably why they look terrible on many occasions during pre-season.

I think they may have a bad start which even early on wipes them out of the title race given who they're up against.

Unfortunately though I think they may have a serious shot at retainining the CL if Klopp manages the re integration of the front three properly (alas reaping the rewards later on in the season). Real look broken, Barca are easily got at, Bayern ain't all that anymore and PSG/City have a weird mental block with CL. Juve will be their biggest threat if they adapt to Sarriball in time for the knockouts.

As I have said before - it is just pre-season but I would be seriously worried if I were a Liverpool-fan. Especially considering that this is a strong Liverpool-side with 7-8 regulars

I hope Salah, Firmino & Mane can get up and running ASAP. We don’t look ready for the season at all based on this.

From what I have seen - the main problems isn't in attack. The defensive play has been awful - ATA has looked like an inexperienced 17 year old today.

At least it’s something happening in pre season I suppose. Gives Klopp some time to address it.

With Mane, Salah and Firmino though I think most teams are a bit more conservative with their play so it does kind of spill over into the defensive side. There’s less pressure on the likes of TAA if we’re pinning the opposition back.

Liverpool looked a lot worse than this vs Napoli away last season, they’ll be fine once the starters return. Napoli are a great team when they’re playing like this.

Liverpool should still buy players that improve them though. There’s nothing worse you can do after winning a big trophy than staying still and not bothering to improve. It almost always results in a decline in performances.

They are still a very good side of course, but I just couldn't see Man City losing 0-3 to Napoli even if they played with a bunch of kids. Mane, Firmino and Sane are absolutely brilliant - but the gap between those 3 and the players behind them is HUGE. City don't have the same problem

Liverpool were awful but it was down mostly to the fact that the players were not fresh (because of hard preseason training sessions). Their pressing game wasn't there and it is key both to their defensive stability and to their attack through winning the ball back higher up the pitch. One can see that even with VVD they can concede several goals a game when the defence is not protected by the defensive work of the whole team.

Yeah the Schalke game was meant to be next weekend, like most teams do we usually play at home before our first PL game. Thats binned off now. It was unnecessary to add another game knowing we were expected to play in the community shield too. The Lyon/Schalke game should have been at Anfield instead not in Switzerland. But it's down to Klopp he likes to plan a big pre-season like he usually does and it works, but not so sure this season American tour was a disaster took no positives from it.

It’s preseason. Anyone worrying now is in panic mode.

What we should be worrying about is the lack of incoming transfers.

You'll dick Norwich like 6-0 on opening day and nobody will give a feck or even remember these meaningless friendlies designed to give youth players a chance/players like Ox and Lallana some chance to gain fitness again.

Benfica have beatead AC Milan 1-0 and they've pratically won the ICC.. Great performance in the first 60' from us, we created at least 6 clear chances to score, then we struggled in the second half but it's normal, Serie A starts in 1 month while Benfica will play their first official match next week.

Manchester United now must defeat AC Milan 3-0 at least to win the trophy.
