Bid accepted. So I would say so. Spoke to Kenyon etc... unless I’m missing what confirms a deal on is?
Ah, we may be talking at crossed purposes. I believe Ronaldinho never intended to move to Man Utd and their interest was used to push up the wages and interest from Barca. I feel United have been used in that way a few times down the years.

Pretty much going to come down to Dybala it seems. It looks like the contract offers to the players have been made and the clubs are getting close to some sort of agreement. Assuming Lukaku says yes, and I can see no earthly reason why he wouldn't, it will come down to Dybala being sold on us a good career move, apparently agent Evra has been talking us up to his old mate and hopefully Sarri tells him he won't be getting a game if he stays.

why are Juve so hell-bent on pushing him out the door? Seems madness to me, he's a wonderful footballer and still only 25.
Like Lukaku with us the risk is that his value drastically drops if he has another underwhelming season.

No, the story is that everything was agreed but Kenyon pulled the agreed offer made to PSG and tried to lower the price.

They are going all in on winning the CL with Ronaldo in the next year or two. Dybala has no real role there.

I thought the swap deal had been agreed (according to reports) and all that's left is for Dybala to give the go-ahead to his agent to sort out his contract?

He doesn't want to come here, don't blame him, so seems like a pointless exercise. Sell Lukaku and buy Bruno and Maguire , I say that's our best option. Why sign a player that doesn't want to be here, hasn't worked out well in the past

Surely we'll know how this one ends by the end of tomorrow?

I'm unbelievably sick of this window man. I can't wait for it to end.

From an objective pov, why would Juventus make this deal?
He doesn't fit into the way Sarri plays? Same reason Conte was after Lukaku. That physical style striker works magic in the Serie A. Look at Zapata, Immobile, Belotti, Quagliarella, etc.

Definitely. If Sarri tells Dybala he's not a central part of his plans (which is expected) Dybala is as good as ours. Seems like United and Juventus have all but agreed on everything.

Juve aren’t pushing him out because of his quality, but because he just can’t fit with Ronaldo in the same team.

Hope this is done quick, Maguire and hopefully Bruno to come

This is exciting as feck. It’s the real transfer season drama and none of this In The Know bullshit and fraud journos stealing a living.

Still can’t believe it could actually be happening!

Sanchez isn't worth Sanchez money (obviously) and neither is Dybala honestly, I hope we're not idiotic enough to give him that sort of cash.
Well if it’s not in Dybala’s pocket it’s in the Glazers, United are profiting regardless.

That is known. The issue is that Juventus are desperate after a CL-win and Lukaku will not help them in this regard. Juventus will dominate in possession in most games in the Serie A even with Lukaku, but in the latter stages of the UCL this is not the case.

Nah, now it's Dybala who'll drag this out. Have a chat with Sarri, then have a self-reflection period followed by some religious cleansing. Then 'la decisione'
Thanfully the window closes in 8 days, so we will all know soon enough. We don’t have to endure weeks/months of nonsense.

Lukaku is a system player. He'll score goals in the right system. He has proven that in the toughest league in the world.

I'm feeling rather lightheaded. The blood has been in my nether regions since yesterday. My wife thinks its because of her new haircut. I dont have the heart to tell her dybala has a better haircut.

If the question is "Can Dybala play in a 4231 system", the answer is yes.
If the question is "Can we play this system with Pogba and McTominay" I don't know the answer.
That wasn't the question.

You answered the first question about Dybala being able to play in a 4231 previously.

My reply to you is that I think McTominay and Pogba will have similar problems to Pjanic and Khedira, in that they could potentially be overran in the middle of the park.

I have watched Dybala play many times. He is a great player, amazing ball control and vision.

Is he a game changer though?

Realistically can he improve us a lot?

Just wanted to see some of the views here as I sometimes feel he is overhyped.

How do you know he doesn't want to be at United ? More guessing from fans . We have no idea what Dybala wants . In a ideal world he probably would want to stay at Juve but he isnt wanted that is plain and obvious

Relax mate.

It'll either
1) not happen, or
2) happen and he'll look utterly average stuck on the right wing out of position, with us having learnt nothing from the Di Maria/Falcao/Sanchez "opportunistic" buys.

ps - let's hope it goes amazingly though :wenger:

Never seen him play, but for some reason I'm imagining a guy with Mata's pace and technique, who'd be amazing at 6 a side, but will take 6months to get up to the speed required, and will be the ultimate square peg in a round hole

I don't understand all the excitement about this guy, in the belief that once we sign him we will easy get top four & beyond. Yes, he scores a lot of goals, but hardly prolific like Lukaku, & although he has scored 57 times for Juventus in 128 appearances, this is a Juventus side who are superior to all their opponents in Italy. To get the best out of him we need to play him as an advanced AM or forward, but is that the system which is best for our other players. I don't think so, & won't get sufficient goals to fit him in.

Aye but the pace of developments has got me giddy.

I’ve not got the patience for a transfer saga. It’s out of the blue World Class anticipation to crushing heart-break within 48 hours, for me.
