But imagine, just imagine if all this deals fail because we refuse to pay salary to Dybala:nervous:
We will pay when it comes to base amount. Perhaps it’s some shitty wage cut clauses (failing to qualify for CL) that are a problem.

Dybala may tell them to just buy better players and be guaranteed CL spot instead of putting this clause, as he has nothing to do with Jones or Lingard and doesn’t want to lose money due to inability of those mediocre players. And it would be a fair point to an extent

This thing that he wants to have a conversation with Sarri seems weird.

Of course Sarri and the management will share the same opinion and nothing will change, so what does he expect?

Perhaps it seems more like that he needs to hear it face it to face, since he might find hard to believe that they are pushing him out of the club, I can't think of a better reason.
Because he wants to go as a fans hero. "Look, i wanted to stay, Juve is my life, i did everything, bla bla bla but club kicked me out". And he knows that he is replacing titles for fighting for top4.:devil:

Probably to say that he won’t be held to ransom and if he has to leave then he will decide where he’s going. He’s got a contract with Juve, they can’t force him to go anywhere against his wishes. He might well say ‘fine boss, sell me to Inter if you don’t want me’.

Great player but I don’t like this deal. Lukaku wants to go, so fine. Dybala probably doesn’t.

Rather we just get Bruno and have a bidding war between Juve and Inter for Lukaku.

Not sure if this has been posted, but I found this person's in-depth look at Dybala pretty interesting.

https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/...lysis_uncovering_la_joya_your_complete_guide/
From that article:
It's also worth outlining some of Allegri’s concerns with him: [LIST said:
[*]A lack of defensive workrate, leading to exposure in central midfield

[*]Occasional inconsistency in performance

[*]the issue of Dybala’s best position (second striker/free roaming 10) being quite difficult to implement properly in the modern game, a slot in the starting XI that a lot of managers would use for a winger or a more conventional number 9.
[/LIST]
How do people see us getting over these issues?

Crazy to even call him that. This is the Mata signing all over again. Feel fairly certain he’ll be pushed out wide as well.
There's no way we'll do that. We've literally been playing 4-2-3-1 all pre season, we've got a ready made spot for him.

I'd also argue that the Mata comparison is a very lazy one. He's got much more ability to dribble in tight spaces and has the ability to create something out of nothing with his shooting ability from distance. He's also a lot quicker than some have suggested on here.

Lack of defensive workrate, with Pogba behind?
Pogba’s defensive contribution criticism is not unfounded. However, we should consider the quality of defense behind him in last seasons. It was a complete mess. Plus, I am convinced he will play deeper than he played under Ole last season. He is a CM.

With lakaku apparently agreeing terms this is just a matter of time imo . Probably wants to leave on good terms with fans "would love to play out my career with Juve blah blah " . United will offer massive upgrade on wages and he will soon get over no CL

They really think they can get More out of Lukaku :wenger: then they could with dybala.
I dont think they literally are wanting to get more out of Lukaku. We tried to get more out of him and he and us failed. We tried making him into a forward he wasn't or capable of.
If you just tell Lukaku to be in and around the box then you'll probably start seeing the best of him again.

English and Irish are the same language and I struggle to understand them
Strictly speaking Ireland has its own separate language just like Wales does. Scotland actually has two. English was essentially forced upon them for our convenience.

Ok. I actually expect him to look quite slow in the PL, but just my opinion. He’s not a bargain bin Messi or any kind of Messi though.

How would he adapt to the pressing game we want to play? Having Pogba in a midfield 2 is a slight concern for me and although people are saying Martial has been working really hard pre-season, it just seems we'd be using a fair few players who aren't naturally aggressive.

From that article:

How do people see us getting over these issues?
We'd use him in either a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2:
De Gea
AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw
Lingard McTominay Pogba
Dybala
Martial Rashford

De Gea
AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw
McTominay Pogba
Lingard Dybala Martial
Rashford

De Gea
AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw
Lingard McTominay Pogba
Dybala Rashford Martial
Assuming McTominay is our defensive mid and Pogba is the #8 (Dybala has no impact on that, neither does he have any impact on where Martial or Rashford play). The main rotation option will be what I put Lingard as. Easier games, he probably goes in that front 4 to balance out the attacking nature of the other 3 with a more midfield, industrious and link up type approach (can also see James rotating with Lingard in that role). In a midfield 3 in tough games can put McTominay as box to box, swap Lingard for Matic as holding mid (or another more defensive/controlling type of midfielder), Pogba in a more free role and have the front 3 fluid, 2 wide forwards with one dropping deep or split strikers like last season with Dybala roaming behind or whatever else. Options are there, and it's pretty seemless to get Dybala in his strongest position without negatively impacting Pogba/Martial/Rashford based on anything we've seen under Solskjaer and how he'll set us up (which is in a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2).

The worry is we don't have the right balance in midfield to make it work with McTominay next to Pogba, but that's not really changed by signing Dybala or not signing Dybala, nor would Bruno Fernandes change that (since people on here clearly have the completely wrong image of what he actually is as a player - not a midfielder, more a Kagawa type in terms of positioning..). That's only being changed if McTominay steps up (think he might), or we sign a top defensive mid that can balance Pogba (and Pogba improves defensively).

  • Martial - Rashford - Dybala with Pogba in midfield;
  • Aubameyang - Lacazette - Pepe with Ceballos in midfield;
  • Sane - Aguero - Sterling with Silva/Silva + KdB in midfield;
  • Mane - Firmino - Salah with Keita/Ox in midfield;
  • Willian - Whoever - Pulisic with Barkley in midfield;
  • Alli - Kane - Son - Eriksen;
  • Or look at Fergie sides -> Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Giggs, Scholes all in the same side
It's the same balance for everyone. Some teams might have some more industrious players, some are virtually the same in terms of actual defensive output, some just had coaches turn those very same players into harder workers defensively. Having an attacking front 3 with a creative midfielder is pretty standard, and the other 2 usually balance that out a little. Pogba is unique in that he can provide the defensive balance at times, just lacks consistency massively with that side of things. There's a lot of set ups to make it work, but Dybala really doesn't unbalance us at all IMO.

I speak Italian at a decent level (though worse than English) and was able to communicate without problems when I was on Barcelona (Catalan) and Madrid (Spanish). I talked in Italian with a weird accent, they replied to me on Catalan/Spanish and it worked perfectly. If really concentrated, I can also understand a bit of Portuguese (though no French).

For natives, it should be significantly easier.
That's interesting. I knew an older gentleman who went to Italy not able to speak Italian but with a good grasp of Latin who managed to make himself understood so I understand there's a certain degree of commonality between these languages in terms of structure and base words. I wouldn't have believed them to be so mutually intelligible after such a long period of deviation though.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
From that article:

My feelings are that we'll vary it. But i don't think we'll go with a diamond, per se.

Big games:

433 with Dybala as a 'false 9'. He'll have freedom to move around, Rashford and Martial will dovetail from the wings to come centrally ahead of Dybala when he drops deep. Could be perceived as a diamond but I can't see us ever giving up width high up the pitch.

Or Dybala RW with freedom, similar to Mata. I hate this role when Mata plays it but Dybala will make a better job of it and AWB will provide energy to cover the right hand side. McTominay will cover from midfield.

Against teams that sit back:

All out attack. Dybala will play behind a striker with Pogba and McTominay behind. A striker ahead and 2 wide players. 4231.

If we bought Bruno then I think Dybala will play RW or False 9 again. Fullbacks will provide width in these games, high press. We'll go for the jugular.

Thats what I'd do and what I think makes sense.

1 season for Juve and I'm pretty sure they will be willing to trade him for an ice cream.

I don't think they follow the premiership / Man Utd that closely if they think that Lukaku will have a decent resell value
He's actually a very good player who simply doesn't fit the preconception of a United forward. Guys like Giggs, Cole, Rashford and solskjaer are more what people have in mind here. Pace and the ability to beat a man and typically about 5'10-6'0 are more what were used to rather than the powerhouse centre forwards teams like Chelsea seem to prefer.

It would have cost £150 million to sign this guy last summer.

Every single one of you questioning this transfer right now, would have been preparing your favourite wank sock if we were being linked with him in 2018.

I’m imaging that Wan Bissaka and Shaw will be heavily relied upon to cover certain areas when certain attacking patterns are happening either making it 3 at the back 3 in midfield or one joining the attack so Pogba and Dybala end up centrally behind the forward and the wide men sticking wide allowing us to hold a press better.

So in attacking phases It would look more like this.
DDG
Lindelof Maguire
Bissaka Matic Shaw
James Dybala Pogba Rashford
Martial
Then defensively it resets to 4231
DDG
Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
Matic Pogba
James Dybala Rashford
Martial

That conversation wouldn't be with saari though, it'd be with Paraticci et al. The only reason he'd want to speak to Saari face to face would be to convince him to keep him.

Classic @Suedesi hating on England. Shock horror.

I'd rather live in England every time over Italy. I've been to Milan & Rome and whilst Rome had impressive history, both cities were incredibly run down in many areas and the amount of people who were homeless was shocking. The climate is obviously better for someone coming from Argentina but Italy has a shit ton of issues as a country, even more so than England.

London>any Italian city. Hands down. Shit, I'd even take Manchester over the two I went to.
I went to Rome last year, an incredible city it must be said, but the sheer amount of homeless people I spotted in the first couple of days was staggering. That and the pickpocketing was beyond belief, my wife and I got stung twice on two separate busses. We were warned about the pickpocketers by both the cab driver and the hotel manager though.

It's funny because we didn't hear anything about these pickpocketers until we arrived in the city. It's like a well kept secret or something.
