One of the Utd fans who I follow on twitter was at the game tonight and told me he spoke to Denis Irwin and apparently this was what he said

Met this absolute legend today, an Irish great. Had a good 15min chat at half time.

Reckons Maguire will be a United great and when asked about Dybala he goes “a formality, will fit the system”.

Like I say there is probably nothing in this at all so don't shoot the messenger but just thought I would share the information with you

I would have posted up the actual tweet but unfortunately I haven't got the necessary permissions to post embedding media yet

True ,think eden was agree and agent tried to change details after Chelsea won to get back into champions league. But yeah I get your point, think deals fall through for Ramsey bale robben and ox too but terms were agreed but they just decide to go else where. Hopefully this one gets over the line. And hopefully this south American works out for us. Not too many do:(
The Robben deal was pathetic handling by us. We agreed a deal, but went back and asked Robben to spend another season in PSV to run down his contract so we can save money. He went to Chelsea

I don't know why but I have a feeling we will see the next "Has dreamed of playing for Madrid/Barca since he was a kid." With this guy if we sign him.
Probably so but many would. This was him while playing for Palermo.

Don't know if any of you had translated that latest tweet from Pedulla but it said something about he has not yet dissolved all the reserves, now initially I didn't understand what he meant but have a feeling it is basically saying he still has reservations about the move

Why would it be just a formality if he still had reservations about the move?

How long does it take to discuss salary, image rights, the ins and outs of the club etc with an agent? I would genuinely love to be a fly on a wall in such a meeting.
I would imagine quite some time, as there would be a lot of people involved. Whoever's in the room with both parties would have to contact multiple other stakeholders on both sides. I'm not worried about how long this is taking at all, in fact if we're down to image rights then I'd say we've done well to move things along this quickly.

Man, I just have a sneaking suspicion that Juventus are not really interested in selling Dybala and are just trying to feck Inter this summer. For a club that has been hitting homeruns every transfer window for quite some time, this seems a really odd move. He is wasteful, but the chance creation by our midfield is terribly low. More than dybala, we need another creator or two in the midfield and a DM. Lukaku will probably do well over there, since Juventus probably have the best midfield in the serie A and will create tonnes more chances than he got here.

Not sure if this or other performance videos have been posted yet, but he shows his quality so clearly here. His close control, his vision, his ability to get away from players in tight spaces. We have no-one else who can do this. He's one of the few players in the world who can truly create something from nothing.

I'm sorry please help me understand what I'm supposed to be seeing in that video. I see a whole lot of losing the ball in midfield with just one good run and shot.

I’d sign off on 2-3 seasons of him motivated and playing at his peek and then let him feck off to Spain. I could barely sleep the nights before di Maria and Veron made their league debuts so it’s hard to put that out of my head. He does have a competitive streak in him though so hopefully he’s motivated by basically being dumped by Juve.

I don't think he's what he need at United at the moment. Douglas Costa would fit our team profile more than Dybala.

Exactly the things I mentioned in my original post? What video did you watch? He literally loses the ball once, and plays 3 or 4 passes into dangerous areas, with one resulting in a goal.

That bit of close control where he turns two players on the edge of the area and shoots is also something none of our current players are capable of (maybe Pogba, but he won't be playing in those areas as frequently).

I have huge reservations about this transfer. His goals and assists aren’t terribly high last season especially.

The dream is having Angel Gomez and Dybala link our attack and midfield but he just doesn’t really seem to care about our club. At least it’s better than Bale I guess who can go to hell for rejecting us before.

Until he proves he’s worth the salary in a United shirt we should leave the cheerleading.

Let's consider that to be in fact true. Then I need someone to explain to me our transfer plan:

We're going to let Lukaku move on at the tail end of the window with who as a replacement? Mandzukic? I'd actually be fine with that, if the remaining 60 million went towards another midfield recruit. But I doubt that more than Dybala coming.
I think we’ll sign Maguire and a CM by Thursday night. So exactly the scenario you would be fine with... Minus Mandzukic.

I have a lot of faith in Greenwood, I think he and Gomes would benefit from Lukakus minutes. And imo, Rashford is a better footballer than Lukaku.

The idea of signing Dybala is exciting and looks good on paper, but if I were the manager making the decisions, I don’t think I’d want him. I’d also like to know why Juventus seem happy to sell him.

Why? Because Juve wants to get rid of him? Clubs getting rid players doesn’t mean the player isn’t good enough, they don’t suit with the manager’s style. For example Pep got rid Eto’o, Real got rid Robben & Sneijder, we got rid Veron.

Sarri probably prefer an all out striker rather than a false 9. Such as Giroud, Higuain & Lukaku. And Sarri will play 433 so there won’t be a traditional no 10 role means Dybala will be stuck in RW if he stays.

We need Dybala. That Lingard goal today against AC Milan is the kind of run and hit Dybala specializes in, and he's got more composure than Lingard has ever shown (and I like Lingard). There are plenty of talented youth on the periphery of the first team but their development needs to be incremental. I think Dybala would give us 3 good years and help the younger players come on.

Just tried to swap Lukaku and Dybala on Fifa 19.....they were open to a swap deal but didn't want lukaku. End up costing 117 million. :nervous::lol:
I had to sell Lukaku to Real Madrid for 86m and than I could buy Dybala for about 115m

* I really hope we pull this one off, hoping for a triple announcement after the weekend with Bruno in it as well but if not ok. Dybala, Maguire, Wan Bissaka and James is not a bad window considering last summer.

@devilish what do you think:

Dybala ha quasi 26 anni e non è un campione e temo non lo sarà mai. È un buon giocatore e nulla più se ne può fare tranquillamente a meno. Oltretutto oramai passa più tempo su instagram che ad allenarsi. Via subito i giocatori così.

Speaking of Cardiff, his performance was disgusting and you could argue he's never really recovered from that.

Key Points:

The Italian champions are happy with the terms of a transaction that would allow them to secure Lukaku without paying a transfer fee while simultaneously shifting Dybala and Mandzukic off a wage bill swollen by the high-cost acquisitions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt in successive summer windows.

While new Juve coach Maurizio Sarri would like to use him at times in a three-man attack with Ronaldo and Douglas Costa, his tactical plan also calls for the deployment of a more physical central striker. Juve have therefore encouraged Dybala to consider leaving for Old Trafford, asking him to discuss the proposal on offer this weekend rather than return to pre-season training.
Second confirmation that Sarri would like a ready-made striker, hence he's ok with the deal. But leaving himself room in case Dybala says no to us.

Maybe he was referring to that #7 fella. Didn't look half bad. Has some potential.

So once again, Sarri hinting at a greatly diminished role for Dybala whilst needing a lukaku-type striker and the club also taking this opportunity to sure up the books.

Looks like Pedulla was on the money from the beginning with Sarri and the rest is just well known info.

He has one poor season because he was played out of position due to the arrival of Ronaldo and a change in formation. Ronaldo had a poor season last year and everyone on here would still have him at united. Dybala numbers over the previous 3-4 seasons have been very good and he will add a new dimension to our attack if he's played in the number 10 role. It also means we are not overly reliant on Pogba to do all the creating and Dybala can share the responsibility.
