I know Lukaku isn’t right for us but seriously it’s madness to suggest Greenwood is currently an adequate replacement for him. He doesn’t have anything like Lukaku’s strength or experience in leading the line. If we all of a sudden had an injury crisis ahead of Chelsea and lost Rashford and Martial we’d be better off selecting Lukaku than Greenwood.

I said that there could still be a few twists in this transfer. Conte will not give up, and I still thing Juve will come back in with another offer.

If Dybala swap is not happening and Inter comes up with 75 million euro + addons, we should just well him and move on.

If he leaves (which I think is likely as he has burned his bridges) then he must be replaced. No iffs or butts, he must be replaced.

The funny thing is, people love to bash Lukaku and tell us how shit of a player he really is, in the same time we have Inter and Conte trying to sign him all summer and a club well run like Juventus doing the same even offering someone like Dybala in exchange. I wish the other shit players we have assembled in the squad drew such an interest.

They offered us Dybala plus Mandzukic, so it'd be a similarly priced replacement for Dybala which wouldn't be Matuidi. A week ago I'd have happily taken Kean and Rugani for Lukaku, but that's in the past. They have a very talented squad and I'm not on the ball with what Ole is looking for, I can see issues, but how he intends to resolve them isn't my prolem to solve. There are many Juve players who would be great here.
Juventus will only offer players that they want to get rid off. That's how swap deals usually work. You got a player you don't want and you exchange him with 1-2 players who are deemed as a surplus by the other club. You also have to take in consideration the player's wishes as well else you'll end up in a situation which is similar to Dybala's.

Now out of Juventus crop I can see only 5 players who might be willing to join us and whom Juventus might sacrifice ie Matuidi, Khedira, Douglas Costa, Cuadrado and Mandzukic. Under such circumstances Id rather deal with Inter for 75m. I would then get James Rodriguez/Bruno for 40m-50m and then hopefully persuade Newcastle to sell Longstaff for decent money.

If we sell Lukaku I can’t see us bringing in a replacement. We don’t have time.

As for Bruno I don’t see that now, and I would rather see Lingard than James which is a rather damning indictment

Yeah totally agree and if Greenwood goes through a form slump while others are injured won’t do his confidence and development any good if we have to play him every week with poor results. Better to be able to hand pick games for him as form dictates than putting big pressure on young fella.

Can't see him going. Inter haven't got the money and Juve have nothing to over now. Might turn out to be a blessing cause style of play or not, you still need to score goals and Rashford and Martial won't score 20 league goals between them if we have the same midfield. Someone other the Pogs needs to create chances and teams last year worked out frustrate Pogba cuts off the goal supply.

Bored at work so have been reading the Lukaku thread on Juventuz. Just amazing how many openly racist posters there are over there and apparently fully tolerated too.

£73 million in an all cash deal is most likely as good as it’ll get, in my mind Lukaku has regressed at United so getting our money back is amazing. Can use all of that £73 million for Longstaff and Mandzukic which then leaves just a right forward as a priority position, if we get Longstaff and Mandzukic in I’ll consider this window a success.

You think Mandzukic would be a good replacement for Lukaku? I'm not a huge fan of Lukaku but he has still got a great scoring record in the Premier League and is still relatively young. On what planet would replacing him with a 33 year old target man be a success?

So, to put it lightly, Juventus fans, or the majority of them despise and don't want Lukaku. They would rather sell Dybala for a fee. Interesting lot.

It is certainly great that we have gotten competition for his signature. This whole Dybala thing and interest from Juventus has only been a good thing really. I don't think we are looking into Mandzukic but if we are, I hope we can use Darmian to get him instead of paying money for him.

The planet that Ricocheted off his foot into some black hole?

So professional is our rom! Imagine Pogba pulling a stunt like this

It all feels very weird this situation. I guess he's become a disruptive influence so they've decided to get him out of training just in case.

They have quite a few players we'd potentially be interested in. I think inter will structure a deal prior to the window closing as Conte is hard for him.
.
Douglas Costa would be quite helpful. But if it's the likes of Mandzukic, Matuidi etc. Juve can feck right off.

Like I said in the other thread I would guess that's why we've put out the brief that he'll be sold without being replaced because the club know he may not go until after our window has closed

Who's the poster who would always get aggressive when defending Lukaku's shit performances?

Would love to see their opinion on this.
