McTominay, Eriksen and Pogba as our midfield would be tremendous.

So why is Tottenham so eager to let Erikson go? Something doesn't seem right. A player in his prime and is world class for "only" 50m? I know he had some health issues last year. If these rumours are true then I hope that is all behind him. On his day he's one of the best in the game in his position...

He's got just one year left on his contract and isn't signing a new one. There's no mystery to this.
And we swoop for Kane:lol:
It'll be hard for them to say no to Lukaku. If we can bring him back from Anderlecht i.e.

1 year on his contract and I guess Levy won't out him on a wage commensurate with his talent, or he just wants a change knowing that he'll also make bank in the process.

If he leaves next summer he could easily get a 500k deal because the club he goes to won't have a transfer fee to pay.

They're not, he's running his contract down and is rumoured to be sulking. He's on 75k a week. Less than Lingard. This is his last big contract and he won't get it at Spurs.

Would you pay £50m + wages to have him on a 1-year loan?

Levy wouldn’t let him go for £50m without there being something fishy, he priced him at £150m only last year... something doesn’t add up?

I think this deal is in the very advanced stages right now. The reason I say that is due to the tweet by Daniel Harris, who was the first to relay the information about a bid for Eriksen a day before anyone else.

Spurs will try and sign one of Coutinho, Dybala, Fernandes for everything to come together.

Asking "but why is Levy letting him go, it doesn't make sense?" is to the Eriksen thread what "but he's Di Maria 2.0" is to the Dybala thread.

Ok well then how much do you blame him rather than the finances of the club which is down to the owners?
Fair point. But Levy's been guilty of leaving things too late to address first team issues plenty of times in the past. Im hoping he's about to do it again.

Let a demotivated player go for £50m or lose a demotivated player for nothing?

He's a proper midfield orchestrater. Not like Pogba who tries but just doesn't have the game intelligence despite the on the ball talent. Would be wonderful, will mean teams can't double mark Pogba and allow him to get in the box while Eriksen conducts the attacks.

The editor of the S*n would have this posted by the S*n's Twitter page if there was any truth to it, instead of his own personal page.

I'm not worried about that. I'm more worried about Levy telling us to feck off.

Asking "but why is Levy letting him go, it doesn't make sense?" is to the Eriksen thread what "but he's Di Maria 2.0" is to the Dybala thread.
Eriksen is demotivated at Spurs and his body language in preseason is pretty telling. Spurs have probably tried shifting him overseas without success.

Levy is now in a situation where he will try and salvage what he can, because his stance on Eriksen has back fired with the player looking disillusioned with life at Spurs.

A toddler could come up with that. All bases covered while appearing to know what you're talking about.
How about this fiction?
United wants Erikson but Spurs don't want to sell to United.
In order to damage United, Spurs swaps Erikson with Dybala, who Juventus doesn't want.
However, Juventus really wants Lukaku so they swap back almost instantaneously Erikson for Lukaku.

Then Levy goes nut.

Norwegian and Danish are similar languages so he'll be able to talk with Ole
Have you ever seen a Glaswegian try to order a pint in an English bar? Or any bar outside of Glasgow, for that matter?

So why would Tottenham be so willing to sell to us??
They probably wouldn't but I imagine they'd rather sell him to us now for a big fee than to get nothing in a year. Especially if they've got Dybala and Coutinho coming in.

I've not really got dragged into the muppetyness this year and have argued against signing a number 10, but I think Eriksen could be transformative for us. He'd be the difference in us having a decent season and a great one (still no major titles though). If we can get it done for anything around £50m i'd do it without a second thought. Anything less than £65m and i'd still consider it a decent signing, one year left on his contract or not.

The mystery is why would Tottenham want to do us any favours? You would think they could easily sell him to a top club in Spain or Italy for a similar amount...
