Apparently Coutinho isn't happening. Would've hated to have seen him playing for them whilst we sat on our hands doing nothing.
You sure? Lots of stuff coming out in the last hour about him being very close to loan to Arsenal.

Based on what?

We clearly have the best attack out of the rest of the top six. We've added Ceballos to our mid field.

So, if we finish 7th, who among the team outside the top 6 will finish ahead of Arsenal. You're probably on a wum.

If we get the Tierney deal over the line, I reckon we'll scrape 4th.

I know there's still question mark over our defense, but with our squad this season, we'll surely do better.

just look at Liverpool in 2016/2017, they finished 4th with a defense of mignolet, Moreno, klavan, lovren, Clyne
I do like your optimism but your fans seem to overrate Lacazatte and Aubameyang a lot. They are fine players and better than our young striker (before I see a post of how United have shit attack). Pepe so far is very much unproven , is he better than Iwobi, yes he is but I still think you lot are not guaranteed to finish in top 4.

If we have a worse season than Arsenal I'll be amazed.
It would be sad but let us not act as if our squad is something amazing. We still have lot of deadwood. Granted our defence has been strengthened but without Pogna our midfield is even worse than Leicester and Wolves let alone other top 6 club. Our attack is largely unproven, unless Rashford and Martial have a breakthrough season liek ROoney and ROnaldo had in 06-07 we will struggle for goals.AT this point it is a toss up between Chelsea, United and Arsenal of who will finish above who.

Arsenal have finished above us in 5 seasons out of 6 after SAF retired. I don't understand where that confidence comes from that we are guaranteed to be better.

Emery said on Sunday he had no idea where those rumors came from, and that they aren't going for him.

I'd say we got screwed more because of the insane wages that destroyed the wage structure at the club. Christ what a shit transfer.

True that. If there was no sanchez we might have signed Dybala but trust me the way Woodward was operating we would have had a sanchez like situation eventually.

It's infuriating that we have left it until the last three days to bid on a CB. We've had weeks knowing that Koscielny wanted to return to France - and yet leave it to the last minute to try and do something about it.

And we still must be 'preparing' that third bid for Tierney.

This window has promised to be one of our best ever with signing the best wide player to make a move (so far) and a prodigious CB talent (who we won't see until next season).

But if we don't sort out LB and CB then it will be another case of doing half the job.

Our defense shipped 50 goals in consecutive seasons. That's clearly been the major issue for a while now. If we had reduced that amount to 40 last season that would have been the difference between fifth and finishing clear in third position.

Yes, particularly with the unproven Ole at the helm and your best player wanting to leave. This is/was our chance to put some distance between us.

But IMO it will be another scrap thanks to our defense letting us down.

It would appear he's being shopped around, your lot are up there as favourites now.

Maybe Mustafi has been looking handy in training.

Will be interesting if one of Tierney, Upamecano or Coutinho will come.

Coutinho surely not and Upamecano to expensive. Tierney no idea, maybe a Deadline Day.

So Arsenal's longest "serving" player is goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Arsenal club legend is embarking on his 10th season with Arsenal. Maybe this season he can break that 15 appearance milestone.

We thought they were shit last season. They still finished above us.
TBF we were also very very shit.

Anyways, they've done some very shrewd business this summer. Luiz will inevitably have few brainfarts but he's still a massive upgrade on that donkey Mustafi.

Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Tierney, Guendouzi, Torreria, Ceballos, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang is a very good XI. Should be favorites for 4th spot given ourselves and Chelsea are in deep shit in either attack or defence.

You're right. They'll have a very well coached first 11 with players that can score goals.

From Upacemano to Luiz.

Imagine Luiz and Mustafi in the same side.

Decent window. Tierney if fit, Pepe and Ceballos are good players. I would take them here. Luiz brings them experience. A loan for Coutinho and they have a good squad and could finish 3rd.

CBs are still the biggest weakness

If ole doesn't sign any more player, emery has no excuse of not finishing in top 4.

I wasn't all that fussed about signing Upamecano. £70m for a 20 year old CB was a bit extreme, especially as we've already signed a young CB for the future. We needed someone to come in and immediately improve us next season and I'm not really convinced Upamecano was that player.

Upgrade? He’ll be playing alongside him. The fecking chuckle brothers of North London.

Apparently, kieran Tierney is almost a done deal.

It's been a decent window. The only negative being the supposed move for Luiz.

Considering all of the reports of a £40m transfer budget in this market, Arsenal look like they will have an amazing window.

It shows the value of having well connected and savvy operators in the transfer market.
