I'd imagine he was trending for the same reason I started this thread and given the thread was started about a written piece telling me to not watch them is slightly irrelevant
Ok, read their opinions then. They give moronic/exaggerated opinions because it winds people up...and even if they truly believed it, I’m not sure why people get so worked up about it.

Him, Merson, Souness, etc... are all dinosaurs and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near punditry. All of them stealing a living.

I'm more shocked he said he's not impressed by Liverpool this season. I'm use to him slagging off Utd.

I came to post the very same review.

Remember this is a review of a Wolves vs Manchester United game.

"Nuno Espirito Santo has the energy, drive and passion for the crowd, with Manchester United coming off the back of a 4-0 victory, almost a hallucination is the best way to describe that result.

I thought Harry Maguire was average, he did everything that was asked of him. He was efficient and got about the pitch, but I don't want to hear nonsense about him being a leader and strong on the pitch already, it is too soon. He has started well, but I am suspect about the right-back and left-back positions at Man Utd. Chelsea could have easily scored two or three. I am still not convinced by Manchester United and I would still sell Paul Pogba."

It’s not as if he was any good. Not Maradona more Madonna. All the predictions are bull but it keeps them in a job. When was the last time you heard Phil Thompson predict a loss for Liverpool.

The irony of him praising Arsenal's average performance but downplaying ours is an absolute joke.

That’s exactly what I want from my centre half in a big game, Charlie seems to want him to score 7 overhead kicks.

He obviously didn’t watch the game closely, Maguire was directing people about and was clearly very vocal at the back. It’s difficult to be a leader at a club that you’ve been at for 4 days and hardly know anyone, Maguire was fantastic considering. Nicholas talks shite.

I never really rated him when I watched him. He had big thighs and a terrible haircut. But he got those amazing skill goals against Liverpool so will always be in my heart.

Come on guys, don't get worked up over it.

I agree he tends to be biased towards us. I think that's just because he's a bad pundit.

He agrees you guys were better than us last weekend and rather than give you credit, he was praising our performance.

I don't really think too much of his he's just one of the many pundits out there you look at and you always think to yourself, "I can do a better job than this bloke."

You guys should know that punditry is one of the few professions where you actually have to be bad at your job just to keep it

I dont think this bloke gets enough ridicule, I mean he's as bad if not worse than Merson. Take this for example

He predicts we'll loose 2-1 to Wolves. Compare that to his thoughts on Arsenal

He's gone for Arsenal to win 4-1

He obviously has a history of outlandish comments as well
Other than obviously having a bias towards Arsenal theres nothing wrong with what he says.

It was 1 single game and RB could conceivably be a problem if Wan-Bissaka doesnt settle straight away. Chances are he has given his preseason form but I doubt Nicholas is watching United in preseason. And yes Chelsea caused us problems and theres no way we should have come away from that game with a clean sheet, but they ultimately didnt finish their chances

Can't believe I'm saying it but Merson was a thousand times better than this.

I was gutted when Arsenal signed him as I really wanted him to come to us.

He was never better than OK at Arsenal though, and they improved when George Graham got rid of him.

So all good in the end.

I was waiting for a thread like this. When I read his sky sports PL predictions I was actually laughing so hard I nearly choked soon after reading his prediction for Arsenal. The guy talks so much shit he makes Merson looks good. How can he say what he says and get away with it?

The guy is a tool and genuinely offers no insight. I get he wants people to talk about it but portraying united in such a way is actually laughable and only contributes to the hate of our club. He’s a nobody in my eyes and is just trying to stay relevant. Loser.

One of the few players who played for my home town club of Aberdeen, did genuinely well and is absolutely loathed.

Tells me all I need to know about the man.

All week on every radio show I have listened to it has been how unlucky Chelsea were and no credit to us at all, so he was just joining a very long queue.

Apart from the fact that he was meant to be reviewing this weeks game 'v' Wolverhampton Wanderers and instead took the opportunity to give us a good kick. He's a bitter prat that has no real worth to be a pundit.

Champagne Charlie. He was a very entertaining player and was really a good player. As a pundit he is terrible.

As absolute goonery and his anti-utd disposition goes, this bloke is underrated. He's a websters pundit and an absolute turbo goon

Southampton vs Manchester United - Saturday, 12.30pm
"I had the Manchester United game last week. Everyone was saying it was a terrible result. When you first see them at the start of the season, you have to ask who they are keeping. They always have the talented Marcus Rashford, the energy of Jesse Lingard, alongside Anthony Martial too. I don't know whether Martial will be fit as he was carrying a knock in the last 10 minutes.

With that, they are down to the bare bones, especially with Romelu Lukaku out of the door. Not one of those forward players played well last week. You cannot get a rhythm with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in midfield. McTominay is a throwback to Darren Fletcher, who was a much better passer of the ball. He is young and rash, but his physical presence has got him there, which is not a bad thing and where I see the balance.

Pogba has started playing deep again and forgotten where he wants to play. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is allowing him to do that and he says that he will be the main player if he does. He will have his good days and will have his bad ones. He gives the ball away cheaply."

Manchester United were left stunned by Crystal Palace last weekend
The balance at the back is unusual. Harry Maguire never covered Victor Lindelof for the first goal last week. Is he the type to do that? The full-backs are worrying and they could always have faith in David de Gea in the past. Now they don't have that reliability.

They could be too hot to trot one weekend and then poor the next two. Southampton have the energy, belief and confidence after their win at Brighton, and will get at Pogba and McTominay and see if they can hurt their defence. It will be an open game which may suit Southampton. This will be an entertaining and expansive match."

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-2 (12/1 with Sky Bet)

Never really hit the heights for The Arse, but in his mind he did. Poor, poor pundit.

Live abroad so don't get much chance to judge his punditry. Remember him as a player: another hyped up Scottish striker who was to take the English div 1 by storm by signing for Arsenal. Rest is history!

He’s come out with another scathing prediction for the Southampton vs United game. Yet another week has passed and his prediction has us to draw 2-2. Which I think with our form is reasonable to think that however he really does speak terribly of us and I hate it. Bare in mind Arsenal got taught a footballing lesson last week against Liverpool, despite Spurs bad form has Arsenal to win 4-2 on the weekend. I can’t believe it. What a biased tool. I think he’s a muppet and I do not know how he has a job at Sky. It’s beyond belief.

Merse was better at this and that's saying something.

I think 'Tiss is the only one that talks any kind of sense on the show/panel really, but I suppose it is more about trying to be entertaining I guess. Maybe it has something to do with 'Tiss being the only truly top player out of the bunch as well.

He's truly a woeful pundit. Shame as well as I used to love Soccer Saturday. I still watch it occasionally purely because Jeff Stelling is a hero but BT Sport just completely trounce Sky in all forms of coverage now, including the goals show on Saturday which another poster correctly noted that they also include scores from the big leagues in Europe as a great added bonus.

To go slightly off topic but beyond watching the PL games, where let's be honest the selected games on 'Super Sunday' are usually tragic, Sky Sports is pretty much dead (the odd NBA game excluding) now. No CL, no FA cup, no European football... snooze.

Their cricket coverage is still the best around, much as I loathe the company. BT was a horror show when they tried it.
