Would you take Zlatan for a year?

Would you take Zlatan back on a short-term deal?

I'm so conflicted. If he's fit enough then maybe? Our attackers could do with his guidance. But it's also another big player signing which isn't what we're focusing on these days. He'd also have to accept a bit-part role and I'm not sure he'll like that.

The difference between him and Larsson is chalk and cheese.

I hope we are done with these types of signings. Paying someone who was signed to score goals a huge bonus each time they put the ball in the net. No thank you.

I would rather have Rooney back for a few months. At least we know he can lead behind the scenes and put his ego to one side whilst doing so.

His injury was such a blow, he was such a positive influence at the club and had he not got injured we'd have never signed Lukaku

Love the big man and my heart says bring him in. But realistically, it would be the opposite of what we are looking to do.

I think Ole would also fear Zlatan would become the de facto manager in that situation. Generally I think Ole is a little scared about having to manage big name players and personalities.

Please don’t, this will end badly. Would rather have llorente as a bench option.

Think Ole would sooner bring Crouchy out of retirement!

Hell yeah, if he can accept not being a guaranteed starter.
He'd bring the right mentality and at least we'll have moments we can smile to during the course of what could be a long season for us

Grabbed a lot of goals but generally his play was pretty terrible for his time with us. He’d play terrible for 89 minutes and grab a goal or 2 and I really don’t see where he would fit in now other than a bench option if we need to play long ball.

Still the funniest thing in the one game he did play really well run the channels and link up play he was throwing up on the side of the pitch so if he was throwing up from that no way he could manage it in the way we play now.

No. He was right on the edge of being past it when he played for us 2 years ago. He couldn't keep up now.

I'd love to see him back but he'd be no good for us. He doesn't press, he doesn't run, he just bangs in goals. I don't know how effective goal hanging would be as a technique in the premier league.

Yes but the doesn't help our situation now, he can only register in January unless he was a free agent.

Why don’t we just sign one of the upcoming best strikers around, cause you know, we’re sort of a big club, not a club that brings in 40 year olds to do a job.

Sure. Also Rooney, Schweinsteiger and Falcao please. It's bound to work this time.

feck yes, I'd take a 45 year old Zlatan regardless of how strong our squad is.

Never been a huge fan of the guy, but I'd gladly have him here as an option when the squad is in such a state. The only problem is I'm not sure his ego would allow him to be an option off the bench.

As a rule I would say no, that ship has sailed BUT we are an injury or two away from being in deep shit.

I cant see Ole going for this. It would be admitting failure after saying he is happy with the squad as it is.

‘‘Twas a joke! but his mrs maybe expediting his exit from DC after his latest shenanigans :nervous:
Argh yes of course - very amusing.

Though I think she needs to find a way to keep him away from alcohol. He is like a teenager on the pull.

I'd love to have him as a super-sub! TBH there'd be no downside, he'd be a genuine Plan B, he has the quality and mentality, and he wouldn't halt the careers of our promising young forwards. I'd want to keep Martial as our starting CF (he's probably been our best player so far this season)... but having the option of Zlatan from the bench would be huge.

I would take him, absolutely. That’s not to say I think it’s guaranteed to work or that I wouldn’t expect him to be badly injured within days of returning.

Depends on how much money he wants but he has unfinished business here and I think his attitude would be a great influence on our young squad.

I think he could be another Larsson-esque signing and given our current options, he'd definitely be an improvement. He'd also be an alternative to the press system and give us a chance to change styles if for whatever reason it isn't working. I'd have him back in a heartbeat, even if just from Jan to May.

Seriously?

Why don't we get Bradley Wright-Phillips aswell? Zlatan, the ultimate self-publicist has people believing his nonsense. At United, he scored a few goals but he was kryptonite for any fast attacking moves and that was two years ago.

Yis need to take off the rose-tinted nostalgia glasses lads.

He scored more than "a few goals" was a great leader on and off the pitch.
