The squad is really weak and will struggle against any team

I think this year United, after many years, could be involved in the relegation battle

In a context where Chelsea are in a right old mess with their Hazard/ban situations, Tottenham are on a ropey run, 20 losses in about 60 games? And Arsenal are Arsenal, us coming top 4 will still be an amazing feat!

That says it all.

The squad has been stripped back, we lack quality across the pitch, and even with 130m on two defenders we look weak.

I love Ole and I really want him to succeed here but I don't like what I'm seeing. I gave him a pass for the horrible form towards the end of last season as I didn't feel that was his fault and I said I would judge him this season and from what we've seen so far is not good enough. His in game management is letting us down. No idea why he waits for 10 minutes or less to go in a game before bringing on 17 year old Greenwood. Give the lad a good 25-30 minutes to make an impact.

All 3 signings have been great. When he gets sacked, can Ole be our DOF?
Ole as DoF, Fergie back for the rest of the season. Poch in the summer if he finally gets pissed off by Levy.

Oh look, pork in the sky.

I'm afraid he just doesn't seem to be good enough. There's nothing about our football that says we're well managed. Even when we beat Chelsea, they were mostly all over us. Tactically he seems ordinary. He picks players like Lingard and Periera and focuses little of technical class. Our possession football is miles worse than it was under Van Gaal. And the genuinely talented kids aren't even getting chances. It's "kids" like Lingard and Periera who are eating up all the space.

To top it off, his record over the last 25 games is dreadful. It's becoming painfully clear that we've misfired once again. A caretaker had wronglyfully become the manager.
I've always enjoyed your posts and my feelings towards this one are no different.

With that squad? Nonsense. I’m not absolving Ole of his culpability for how the squad looks currently but nobody is working wonders with it as it is. He’s very much mid build at the moment and it’s not going well, but there’s absolutely no point in bringing in another manager unless relegation looks a possibility. Which it won’t.
Yup, we can pretty much just suck it up and see what happens until the end of the season. Start working on plan for the future, bring a DoF in, build up a structure and if OGS doesn't manage to turn in around (which seems likely at this point) take your time looking for an appropriate manager for next season. Sacking him now (or in the next few months), bringing a random manager that is available and giving him free reign is the type of piss poor planning that led us to this shit in the first place.

Realistically, we probably have to wait a bit before sacking him. But it does feel like we're just killing time before the inevitable.

We struggle against a 10 man mid table team, my god how far we have fallen, love OGS but we never should have given him the job beyond the summer!

Save a Legend's reputation and make OGS Director of Football.

And then let's get someone else.

After the the end to last season and the start of this season, Mourinho must be pissing himself laughing while the rest of us are pissing ourselves crying.

The comments in here are laughable.

There is no manager on earth that sends his Goalkeeper out to parry a ball his should catch nor tells his Centre Back to position himself so terribly he can’t compete for a header.

Some of his team choices may baffle but his ideas are continually undermined by individual errors.

We could have Pep in charge & he couldn’t improve these players, he’d need to buy a new squad.

The man has had countless senior players leave & not be replaced, no manager would want their squad decimated like this.

That being said he needs to resign & call out the regime; how anybody could say this squad has come together by design amazes me.
He will do neither. He has a huge compensation to lose if he resigns voluntarily and secondly he is a gentleman and will not bad-mouth the owners. He even said he was happy with the squad after our transfer window. How do you expect him to change the tune now?

This British core we're so obsessed about are performing miracles. There's so much hunger in the team.

Calm down people. You can't expect that we beat Southampton with this squad. It is not Ole's fault. In matter of fact it is huge success to get a point there.
feck, i can't do it like master of sarcasm @Ban.

Just suck him already Woody. Ole is average, limited manager who had 9 months to create something. No gameplan, no style, players looking worse than they looked under Mourinho, no results. He can't beat Palace or Saints after he had whole summer for preparation and after he bought new players. No more excuses for him. Needs to go; NOW.

Don't believe that. We downgraded massively from Jose, and he was a nightmare.
Rashford, James, Pereira, Mata, Greenwood, Lingard. That's the forwards we had to choose from today. It wouldn't scare anyone even if Guardiola was managing them.

Deserves everything he gets, even without backing from Woodward he makes stupid decision after stupid decision. Gets rid of Lukaku and Sanchez when he knows we can't replace them and continues to play garbage like Pereira and Lingard instead of giving the talented youngsters we have a chance. I'll have no sympathy when he inevitably gets sacked. He just looks happy to be here and knows he lucked out getting the job.

He is tactically out of his depth! Shown again today against a poor Southampton team that we made look good at times! I would personally prefer someone who is tactically at the top of there game and Ole is certainly not there right now! Sorry OGS you gotta go

Im not sure that the Southampton game can be blamed on Ole. Lots of individual mistakes and bad performances.

He was let down in the summer with no creative midfielders being signed. However, to bring Matic and Lingard on just showcases his cowardice. He talks about youth, but he hasn't got the balls to actually play them. Greenwood comes on with eight minutes to go...

He said Greenwood is a better finisher than Rashford and Martial yet he doesn't start him.

He looks tactically naive and out of his depth at this level. It seems already we're just delying the inevitable by not sacking him but not sure who would be willing to replace him under this ownership.

I had a similar thought the other week. I love his vision in terms of rebuilding our team, and the signings he's made all look terrific business. I think he could work very well in a DOF type role if he was interested.

It's taken time to reach this point. I've been as positive as I could be about Ole uptil now. He was allowed the luxury of last season. But after a full preseason we still look like we don't have a proper tactical plan. We still don't look well managed. I'd rather watch Chelsea than us and that says a lot. Ole's ideas on football just aren't anything exciting.

It's clear that he has no clue what he's doing. He keeps saying all the right things, but then goes on to do the opposite.

Why not take off Rashford when he was playing like shite? Why okay Greenwood wide, when he himself said that he was United's best finisher.

Why bring Lingard on when you have need a goal? Letting Smalling go was another mistake. Now we have Rojo and Jonesy as backup.

In for a worst season than Moyes.

I hope people doesn't defend ole's own reckless decision in the window selling lukaku, Sanchez Smalling and not buying more in the middle.

The club left everything to sir alex in the past, there has been total brain drain at the club since then.

I predict a 8th or 9 th finish this season and a quarter or semi final exit in Europa league, with pogba gone next summer, may be even de gea for free.

How on earth Smalling signs a new contract in December and is loaned out after 6 month injury lay off to reckless bailly? Who gave him a contract and who let him go?

This season will be our worst in 7 years. 7 fecking years we stand still. We didn't couldn't do any progress. Ole will take with us the worst spot in the league I reckon by this poor margins we will be out side the top 10.

Who to blame?

Please remember that whilst he may not be the best choice, Ole is paying the price for the club hiring Jose Mourinho.
What about Klopp and Rodgers? Or Emery and Wenger? Or Poch and the shit managers before him. Or Conte and Mourinho at Chelsea?

Blaming the previous manager for a current managers failings is so lazy

Where do we go from here?

We look clueless and outmatched again by a caliber of club that we should be running off the pitch.

We have a squad chocked full of deadwood, brainless, uninterested footballers, and Ole looks absolutely bewildered and helpless.

Things aren't getting better unless we get rid of ownership and their boy Eddie.

The Glazers are doing to this club what they did to their American football team. Running it into the ground.

Guardiola has a style, tactics and is inspiring, of course he'd get better out of our forwards, I can't believe you honestly think otherwise. Ole just isn't the required level.
