I was proper pissed about losing Ander.

Herrera is no world-beater, that's true. But he was our second best midfielder, comfortably. Our midfield looked best with Pogba, Herrera +1. A three man midfield. If Ole felt Scott was good enough to be the +1 (I disagree strongly but whatever), then not replacing Herrera is still a ridiculous move. We've visibly downgraded in that area of the pitch and we're reaping the shitty harvest.

I think today might be a bit of game-changer for a section of our fanbase. Dropping points in unfortunate fashion to bottom-half teams like Palace and Southampton doesnt seem to phase them - this might be a mild hammering, at home.

So, by the sounds of it Pogba, Martial, Shaw, Lingard, Dalot, and Bailly are 100% out. Wan-Bissaka is maybe a 50/50, having him fit is the only boost we can likely get going into this game.

    De Gea

    Young
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Wan-Bissaka/Rojo

    Matic
    McTominay
    Mata/Pereira

    Greenwood
    Rashford
    James

Is the only line up I can see happening... Maybe a back three or Andreas over Greenwood as a starter which I wouldn't like as much.

Without Shaw, Martial and Pogba I'd say I'd have 8 of their players in our starting lineup today.

Going to be another shit show and season we can't wait to finish once again. The club is finished under this regime.

Perfect opportunity to start Greenwood and Williams with Gomez coming off the bench

I reckon it's going to be:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Young
    McTominay Matic
    Mata Pereira James
    Rashford

Ole like Pereira at #10 for his pressing ability.

Absolutely love this. It is doing my head in trying to pick a side. If anyone picks the eleven i'll buy you a drink if you come to my local.

Matic, Chong and Gomes off the bench.
Finally Gomes and Chong made the squad today, and with Greenwood - he definitely shall start.

Surprised at everyone picking Lindelof....would've thought his place would be under threat now with him being dodgy for 2 of the goals conceded in last 2 games.

Wonder if Axel might get a start today.

    Confirmed United squad members

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Juan Mata, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James
I'm almost(not really)in tears looking at that squad. Yeah we have injuries but that squad is so thin on quality it's awful to look at. It's amazing how far we have fallen in 6 years. What in the actual feck.

Don't think we have been further away from winning anything in the last two decades looking at that squad.

Do all the people whingeing not realise it makes literally zero difference to the future of Manchester Utd whether we beat Leicester today?

It’s a rip and replace rebuild. Forget this season. Who cares if Leicester beat us? We’re finishing 6th at best anyway, I could have told you that before a ball was kicked

Exactly. I'm quite shocked so many see United as a top 4 team. We might make the top 6 with significant investment in January but right now I think we'll more likely see top 8 as our goal. We have a small squad with limited options. If Martial or Pogba is out for a long time we're going to struggle. The time to be annoyed was during the summer when we yet again didn't invest enough. Might as well enjoy the ride now. At least we can look forward to watching more of Greenwood and James today, even if we don't have the squad to compete with Leicester.

There are about four who are good enough, the rest are kids, not good enoughs and has beens.

Maybe we can find a better midfield 3 without Pogba.

It's strange to go into a game against Leicester at Old Trafford and feel like a point would be a decent result, but when you look at our likely starting 11 it's a reality, and I'm not even sure Greenwood will start over Pereira.

    Really bad feeling about today.

If the rumoured injuries actually do turn out to be as bad as the rumours, I'll consider a 2-0 loss to be a moral victory.

On the other hand, even without an injury list and a full squad available, I can't see past 1 - 1 because we seem incapable of scoring more than one goal and, worryingly, despite the world's most expensive defender and best FB prospect in Europe, we still seem incapable of keeping a clean sheet.

You have to replace in order to rebuild. I can imagine the midfield+attack that's fielded today will be the worst we've seen from United in the PL on paper.

I've not put him in my squad prediction but i wouldn't mind the energy Fred would bring to midfield.

Think only Wan Bissaka has made the squad of all the injured players. No Pogba, Martial, Shaw, Lingard.

This will be likely the weakest first 11 that we ever fielded in a PL game that matters. That midfield, in particular, looks dreadful.

We need a DDG masterclass and a lucky goal or two.

Defend and bang the ball forward towards Rashford or James and hope for the best. It sounds like relegation candidate tactics, but the less that midfield touches the ball, the better.

We need to scrape a win today, no matter how.

I don't get the Martial injury, at first it was diagnosed as nothing more than a knock and his recovery time would be a week at max. That was a month ago.

AWB being fit is a big plus at least.

Half way into a complete rebuild, (which, having supported Utd for over 50 years, I'm happt to buy into) most of the dead wood gone, and no Pogba today against a good team, although playing at home. Should give us a good insight as to where we really are, especially if Matic doesn't get a game (I'm sure he will). Should be an exciting game, I'm looking forward to it. Fingers crossed!

Can we win this for a change?
Hope Solskjaer has some clue what to do with the players he has.

Hopefully, Mata and Matic both do not play. If Matic is in the team, play Periera. If Mata is in the team, play Fred. We will be too open if we play both of them in the team.
