we are such a confidence side.....

if we get a goal and our tails are up we could make it comfortable for ourselves
That's literally the opposite of what happened against Wolves and Southampton.

Defend deep and hit them on counter especially their full backs play so high and there will be lot of space to run into. Don't try to control the game
They have the capability to punish us badly if we do, I agree.

Does club football really need to resume? I was enjoying not having to think about United :(

I'm quite happy we're finally back to real football. Even though I don't expect 3 points tomorrow, I'm curious to see how Ole lines up the team without Pogba.

I'd like to see Tuanzebe come in for Lindelof, mainly for his pace. Unlikely of course. Really hoping Wan-Bissaka is fit enough to start because we can't go with both Rojo and Young at full back.

Expect to see Matic start alongside McTominay, with maybe James-Pereira-Lingard in front of them. Surely Gomes makes the bench this time around.

    Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
I remember an interview with Ander after the 2017/18 season. When asked he said " I can guarantee I will be here next season'.
And he did not say it as a happy man.

If Woodward was not able to get a new contract signed, he should have got a new midfielder before 2018/19 started.

Nothing amazes me about this board.

I appreciate the positivity mate, but I’m not gonna lie, from what you outlined there the only thing I can see to look forward to is James  The two beside him and the two behind him, it’s difficult to think of much less inspiring. McT on the team sheet works with Pogba, but it’s hard to see any decent forward play coming with Matic next to him.

I do agree that it’s hard to see us getting the three points though. Leicester are a good team, and with Rodgers there they’ll probably end up outplaying us tomorrow.

That said I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and for us to brush them aside with a brilliant showing of attacking football. :nervous:

I might feel differently if we end up being outclassed and lose tomorrow, but it's just an addiction. If you're still here after the last 6 years you qualify as an addict. Even when it's bad, I still enjoy it. And I sort of enjoyed the first 2-3 years post SAF because they were bad. Now I just enjoy the false dawns

For me it’s more like an abusive relationship than an addiction. It follows the cycle of abuse to the letter for me, especially the bit about how ever so often I think “Maybe United has changed. Maybe the club won’t hurt me this time”

The only positive spin on that is revelling in masochism :D

For me it's just an interesting journey. I was a little bit meh at times when we were top dogs. Took it for granted. The whole thing would be a lot more enjoyable with ambitious owners - it's challenging enough to get back to the top - but it's taken up more of my time, all the narratives, the problems, the hope. It's been more absorbing. But it does have it's sell by date, this type of fun.

Don't worry guys. Pogue Neville said this about Herrera, no need to regret anything : "There’s loads of Ander Herrera’s around. He’s nothing special, honestly. There’s loads of him around".

Nothing special honestly, especially when We're short of midfielders.

Oh and We should have sold Pogba and support the board decision about the transfers We've just had. How can someone disagree with Neville is beyond me.

How does Herrera replace pogba? Two completely different midfielders.

That's only 19 players so with Grant removed it should mean Gomes and Chong join Greenwood in the matchday 18, which is one positive, and with Lingard out one of them should get a start, most likely Greenwood.

It seems to be a match of believe.
Leicester think they could be fighting and up there challenging for top 6.
Us try to prove that we are heading to the right direction under Ole (somehow) even though not having a good transfer window.
Having bad results the last three matches does not stop me hoping to see some positives in terms of plays and spirit.
Obviously disappointed but believe things going to change soon.

You know the worst thing of all for me? If we lose I won't be shocked. Not even surprised.

I put it down to an appallingly muddled transfer strategy this Summer, with glaring deficiencies in the squad simply not addressed. A good, experienced DOF would have avoided that but we're never going to get one because Woodward simply won't relinquish sufficient power.

I don't believe we've reached anywhere near bottom yet, that's still to come.

Used to hate internationals but now England are a bit decent I actually look forward to not worrying about United for a little while

I’m expecting us to lose this - and this to be a reality shake to how poor our midfield is bar Pogba

Expectations here seem pretty low going into this one, so I'm expecting nothing less than a confident and convincing 3-1 United victory.

If I was Ole, I’d play Gomes and Chong to start. A win win.. if they play well, excellent. If not, it will highlight the need for a squad overha... wait, has this been said before?

    Nice to have PL-football back!

Slightly pessimistic about the outcome of the game though.

Yes on paper they look stronger, particularly in midfield, but we always seem to pull off a result when no one expects us too.

Just trying to be positive, it’s not a crime is it?

Not a lot of expectations for this one. Their midfield is better than ours. Vardy the better striker than rashford as well.

Anyone with half a brain would know that going into the season without getting in replacements would inevitably result in this.

If Greenwood and Gomes don't get a decent chance this game, I don't know when they will.

Is Wan Bissaka fit to play ?
I think so, doubt Ole would have him as part of the squad if he wasn’t ready to play, but we’ll see. I certainly hope he’s fit anyway!
