I'm typing this with my Glock 19 two feet from me
So it wasn't Ben or Brown, it was Ben and Tomlin or Brown. Pretty fecking big difference and considering Brown had no-showed practice on multiple occasions, no surprise they traded him. The major issue with Bell wasn't Ben either, it was the amount he was asking for and the Steelers were right not to pay a running back 17 million a year.
Tomlin backed Roethlisberger every time, which is why he is even named. It's really not a secret that they chose the QB over the others.

Two big-name QBs missing fairly considerable time.

I haven’t watched the GB Vikings game yet, was Cousins truly that aweful?
His QBR was 4, it would have been better to not let him try to be a QB.

Woah! Excited to watch! Not what I expected given a 16-21 score line.
The Vikings started really slow on defense but totally dominated the game after the first quarter while Cook made their run defense look like they were still in college.

1st and goal with 5 mins remaining and one score down and run game doing well, he inexplicably drops back invites pressure and throws to a double covered player ending up with INT. Killed the drive and fight back. Inaccurate throws at clutch situations all game, fumbled the ball once and even the TD he finally threw was almost an INT.

Except most of the issues with AB last season didn't involve Roethlisberger. AB yelled at his coaches and no-showed practice, threatened to break a reporter's jaw, threw furniture off a balcony while a kid was walking below, sarcastically tweeted that he should be traded etc and Roethlisberger's involvement in all that was limited to defending AB. Hell even Tomlin only fined him a small amount for the no-show and publicly defended him on multiple occasions. Even in the final incident, Tomlin didn't "back" Roethlisberger, he benched AB not for fighting with Ben but for claiming injury to no-show practice:

Last Wednesday, Brown expressed soreness in his knee and Tomlin, as he often does with veteran players, gave him the day off. On Thursday, Brown said he still felt discomfort, and reiterated as much on Friday, which prompted the Steelers to send Brown for an MRI. That's why, according to Tomlin, Brown was listed as questionable ahead of the Week 17 game against the Bengals.

Tomlin said he couldn't get in touch with Brown on Friday evening or Saturday when Brown was a no-show for the walkthrough practice. At that point, "it became something altogether different," the coach said, referring to the decision to not play Brown against the Bengals. On Sunday morning, Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, called Tomlin to say Brown felt better and was ready to play.

"It doesn't work like that," Tomlin said he told Rosenhaus, and that while Brown wasn't going to suit up he did want to meet with the receiver prior to the game. That was the last time the coach had spoken to the player. Brown never got that MRI either.

My god, after years of watching some consistently average QB play (playoff run aside) seeing Lamar play the way he is.... Man it's so exciting.

Jesus. 5-26 against teams with a winning record as well. Who is your backup?
Mannion. The worst part is that last week he was a bit upset because he only had 10 passes to throw and blabbed about how the team would need him if they need to win 52-51.

I mean, they would need him to get injured and for Mannion to be the second coming of christ to win 52-51 so he's got a point.

Excluding the monster gain, his YPC was less than Jones was it not?

Brees being out could help him in the business end of the season, as he seemed to trail off late last season.

The obvious problem with that is playoff games in Nawlins are a different proposition to those in Seattle or Atlanta.

He did. Jones is a bit strange he is a pretty good running back but he seems to be as likely to get no gain than he is to get 10 yards.

Can't argue with the results. His throwing technique while it doesn't look pretty, is certainly effective. Add in his running threat, and he could be devastating.

You were right in believing in him. I didn't thought that an NFL team would give him a chance.
It looks like he's done the one thing that makes him very effective - become a good passer. Otherwise the running would be completely one dimensional and would get found out pretty quickly. Now that the passing game is strong, it causes all kinds of problems for opponents in terms of how to stop him.

Yeah, he’s the ultimate dual threat now. Opposing teams have to commit safeties over the top, in which Hollywood Brown helps him a great deal. If you have someone else spying on him, the RBs simply run wild. Basically a cheat code and another juicy matchup looming against the Chiefs.

Jalen Ramsey btw, wow. Would be a perfect fit for Houston but unfortunately won’t happen.

To be fair, all Pennsylvania teams should be disliked.
I went to law school in Philly, when they won the Super Bowl it was a lot of fun that night. Since then it's amazing how much I enjoy seeing them lose (now I don't live there).

saquon barkley is really having a transformational effect on the giants
The team traded away the best receiver and anyone good on defense, the o-line is still a mess but yeah having Sam Darnold instead of Saquon would have solved everything you're right.

Pats really have Dolphins & the jets in their division ffs
Buffalo are crap too. Are people just figuring out that the Pats benefit every year form basically getting 5-6 free wins each year because the division is a dumpster fire? Peyton had a similar thing going in Indy lot of those years.

I’ve been trying to say that for years. Literally the easiest route to the playoffs. I’d like to see how easy it is for them if they played in AFC North or if they moved Baltimore to the AFC East (Dolphins then being shifted South + Colts shifted North). Hell, the whole dynasty started with a dodgy ref’s call and nowadays it’s practically a meme that refs favor the Pats.

Browns look poor on offense. Or maybe Gregg Williams knows him so well.

I think jets would still lose but it would at least have been a better game with Darnold
