Worst run club in the league. We will be very much mid table or worse this year, maybe we need a shocking season for the club to actually restructure from the top down?

It's a long way back for us, Ed isn't going anywhere and as long as the club is profitable the owners don't care about performance on the pitch.

Sad but true...

Remember when all you idiots frothed at the mouth over Jose's 2nd place finish comments

Now the same people want to give this manager 4 seasons before he can even play basic standards of football

We just have less talented players than West Ham

Funnily enough. We should have got something from the game with those two golden chances . West ham weren't great tbh. They didnt have to be. Two average teams played today.

Biggest club in the country, biggest stadium, biggest fan base, biggest turnover, biggest profit, most trophies....a billion spent in recent years and we see Mata, Matic, Young, McTominay, Perriera, Fred and Lingard all on the pitch who are either done or simply not good enough, it makes you absolutely weep.

It's a 2-3 season project regardless of whether Ole is the right man or not?

Only way around that is dump cash on the market (won't happen) and even then, didn't work straight away for Pep/City?

Roll up your sleeves lads, this is going to be a long one
Yeah, apathy is setting in quite quickly. The only positive will be that our main rivals are dropping points too.

Youngsters or not, we don't look like a team that's coached. There is no pattern or thought to our play and simply throwing more money at it is a convenient get-out for successive managers since 2013. Granted our problems run deeper then the manager but I have no confidence our team will improve until the whole ownership and structure changes (which could be several more years) and simply hiring and firing managers is just futile.

I predicted we would finish 7th at the end of the season, I fear I may have been too generous in my prediction.

Absolutely horrendous in every way. I said before the season this might turn into our worst post-Fergie season yet and every game just reinforces that opinion. We're completely fecked.

Another frustrating day.

We are soooo bad :(

That could be Rashford out for a while.

This may sound stupid but I saw some promise. If we had a Pogba/de Bruin/Scholes dictating the play to a striker not wearing nappies, we'd probably be good for third place. So we're only two signings away from competence.

Horrible, horrible performance. I don't have much else to say on it at the minute or I'd just be ranting.

Can blame Ole all you like, on paper West Ham had a better side out than Man United for this game. If you looked at the starting 11 and subs for both teams , West Ham were superior. For Man Utd to be in a position where they have a few injuries and are clearly worse than West Ham (with all due respect) then serious questions have to be asked of the people who are controlling the transfers/wages of the football club.

Did we win the xG battle at least? People keep telling me that's the only metric that matters!

I'm just going on The Caf
That was fecking shite. I remember a game late 80s when we drew at home vs Sheffield Wednesday and I thought that was the worst performance I'd ever seen. Unfortunately I've seen so many equal to that in the last few years and lately worse.

I knew this would happen.

Mata is past it. So is Matic. Our midfield has been an issue for around 8 years now. Why can't we just sort it out?

This season’s squad is probably the worst we’ve had in a really long time. Bar 2-3 players, everyone’s just so painfully bad. I’m trying to rationalize why they play for us, and I really can’t come up with anything.

We just keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Our players (and coaching staff, to add to that) either don't seem to realise these mistakes, or are just inept at fixing them. Set pieces were a total waste, again. But, our movement and passing is really, really bad for a club at this level. We have got into a bad habit of holding on to the ball for too long before making an incisive pass, or we simply don't know what to do with it. Core mistakes, really.

Forget about competing for titles or cups for a second and just think about the basic objectives of football: to score goals. We don't seem to know how to move the ball forward and can't finish our chances when we do get into those positions. Part of this is down to our squad, but a great part of it imo is down to the way that we have been coached. This isn't necessarily all on Ole, but I think we've been this way for a long while, certainly in the Van Gaal era.

Absolutely rudderless.

The quicker Ole realises Pereira and Matic should never play for the club again is the moment we start to improve!

We really need to go back to a. 4-3-3 when Pogba is back, scrap this double pivot. we’ve not got enough creativity in this side and Rashford isn’t a number 9 in a million years

If you’re a good coach, you can get a side playing good football, give them a style/identity no matter the personnel on the pitch.

We still look clueless, Ole has been here 10 months.

It won’t matter if he gets replaced though. The problems won’t magically disappear but it will allow Woodward to hide for that little longer while the cycle repeats itself.
Agreed 100% mate.
People like to mention Pochettino as a replacement, but we've seen first hand that when his squad isn't as good Pochettino doesn't do as well.
That isn't a slight on him either, that's just football.
Woodward has overseen the squad ending up like this, and he's Probably not going anywhere.

West Ham is a good team but to lost 2-0 is disappointing. I think the direction and vision from Ole is good but he accomplish nothing. Ole is out of depth, 4-0 win over Chelsea is a fluke. It will not happen again for the rest of the season. We can hardly create goal scoring opportunities, let alone scoring one. Sorry guys, Eddie Howe? Benitez? We need a coach who knows how to utilize this squad. Ole is not the person.

Depressing. We keep getting lower and lower every match.

I don't know if the worst thing is the quality of our football or the gentle reaction for Ole I see on here. All the best managers scream on the pitch while ours keep listening to his assistant and walk on the line.

Ole is good but Woodward and the rest of the board are incompetent
They are. Actually many CEOs are not footballing experts, but they surround themslves with people who are. I dont know why Woody doesn't do that.

It says a lot about our current predicament that very little of us were optimistic about getting a result against fecking West Ham.

I can see what Solskjaer is doing. And regardless of today’s result/performance, I remain glad that Lukaku and Sanchez have been shipped out. Likewise Smalling.

Truth be told. We have 15 good players that could form the base of a team that doesn’t play miserable football. The clear out must continue.

I could pick out so many shockers today but the one i will say...I don’t want Rashford in the first team. He’s a woeful striker and I’d actually prefer to see James in his preferred position on the left.

For me Rashford and Martial should be squad players. In comparison, just go and check out the squad depth at Juventus
