Absolutely appalling. I'm sorry but the fact that he survives this run of form is an indictment of the board and CEO. This can and should not be acceptable.
He's surviving because of the fan base. They're happy to not just tolerated but are actively keeping him in the job.

Our fan base is just as big of a problem as our board. The board is passive and a bit clueless, and our fan base forces them into not acting with their 'back the manager at all costs mentality'

I have one more worry. Is the dressing room divided between academy vs non academy, british vs non british? This is not the sign of band of brothers fighting for one cause.

Captain/leader is very critical persona is sports, military. You need a strong captain who sets example by his own performance and sacrifice. Without such captain dressing room will start getting divided. United has been without such leader for far too long. Young as a captain is a mockery of that position.

Football's such a funny game. Although our football has been far from amazing, on another day, Ole could have been celebrating 6 points this week.

McTominay scores against Arsenal to make it 2-0, then the games most likely over.

Maguire scores that header then we probably go on to score a goal or two more.

Fine margins, but because we're not great going forward, we're relying on 1 or 2 chances a game.
I know this is you Ole, please resign.

How many games this season have we score 2 or more goals in?

If I were him, I'd do the decent thing, resign and join in the Glazers Out movement.

Ole took over and the same players started performing. All was going well until that Arsenal game on 10th March 2019, which we lost. It was Ole's first loss in PL as man utd manager. Something terrible happened after that and we are sliding down like a snowball.

I am very curious to know what happened on that day that the same players who were motivated till then simply switched themselves off and still not come out yet. What did Ole do, or failed to do on that day? or week between that match and the nexr match?

They probably didn't expect Ole to be given the permanent job and were thinking they'd get a top manager after the interim stint. Because of that, motivation was lost among many of them. That's my guess and that's just part of the whole problem.

They were winning because they were full of confidence. Once that initial self-belief was broken, Solskjaer wasn't good enough to help them regain it. In fact this parallels his time at Cardiff.

Form and confidence is a massive thing in football. The football is Sir Alex's last few years was poor, but he still managed to install a lot of self-belief and confidence in his players. That was enough to carry the team over the line and collectively elevate the likes of Cleverly to PL winners, even if the team was tactically poor and was lacking quality.

It's how leicester won the title, because once they started winning they rode that wave of self-belief.

I love these kind of posts. Let's not expect a team that genuinely plays good football. Knocking something here and there and hanging on to the moments where we could have done so is what we should do. Like a bottom half club with a tiny budget would. Great stuff..

Yeah but if Maguire scored that header we could have been 1-0. Or if the bar hadn’t had saved us we could have been 1-0 down. Or if De Gea had not made a double save Arsenal could have been 1-0 up. Small margins and shit.

Love how people are looking for anything positive. At the end of the day we lost to one of the worst teams in the league and against a manager who they probably wouldn’t swap Ole for.

He’s out of his depth. Let’s just make the change before things start getting more foolish and we are facing relegation. At the moment we can’t score. Our away form is abysmal and home form is average. That’s all the hallmarks of a relegation team. People can laugh it off, but we in serious trouble.

Get rid of Ole now and don’t leave it to December like you did with Jose last year. Who knows we might still have a chance at top four as the other teams are hardly great besides the top two.

Keep Ole.... who else is there the squad quality is the problem, that has to be improved in January, striker and midfielder as a minimum.

BTW did anyone look at Willems receiving the ball for the Newcastle goal, ti me seemed offside in real time.... I was not at the match and could not face listening to that Souness prick so switched off at the whistle.

Maguire scores that goal, we go in full defensive mode and we concede goal. Happened many times this season.

So if he doesn't he'll get a dog's abuse from you and the like?
This forum has rules about that but he would deserve it. He is ruining this club with his incompetency. We are laughing stock because this amateur who is not man enough to accept that this job is not for him.
Same goes for Ed

That's not his job. That's Ed 's job to sack . It would be a career suicide if he hands over resignation.
Ed's job is to sack him but also to resign would be decent thing to do. Before all these huge contracts, managers resigned all the time. Now when they can lost millions and in Ole's case dream job, they refuse to do that. Personally if he does that, he would have all my respect and in future i would see him as what he is still; our football legend who tried to do something as a manager and failed. It happens in life. It is not a problem and something for be ashamed. If he will be sacked then i will remember him as a person who was ready to ruin this club because of his selfish ambition.
Ambition is a great thing but when that ambition is damaging many people around you then it is just selfish thing.

Keep Ole guys he clearly has a plan. Keep a manager who has 9 points from 8 games. Everybody blaming the Glazers and Woodward yet again i guess that is the easy route to go. Gary Neville has become a nothing pundit of late because he is unwilling to criticize one of his besties. Anyone can see he is out of his depth. He shoots down anyone who is saying Ole is the problem, i believe having all these ex United players Schmeichel, Neville, Scholes doing punditry work on us is a waste of time.

Get rid and Get Poch at all costs simple

If I'll read again that changing managers wouldn't change anything and that no other manager could do better with this squad I'll go nuts. How can anyone really believe that?

No but the same problems will repeat itselves over and over again.
It might or might not. We should at least try. Just look at Brighton as example, they hired Potter and they are playing good football. They don't have better players than us but for sure they play better football.

We are complicating things with something no one even knows like structure and nonsense like that. Hiring DoF won't make Ole to coach basic things like forward making near post, far post runs, or asking him to attack the cross instead of relying on defender missing the cross, asking players to create angles for player in possession to pass.

We are just hiring poor managers, Moyes wasn't good enough, Van Gaal was past it. Jose was the closest to good manager we hired and he did decent enough job. Ole is out of his depth.

Hire a good manager and most of the problems are solved.

If they didn't have self confidence they would be playing in Sunday league instead of in PL. At least have realistic expectations from managers/players. No manager who was confident in his abilities all his life would think he isn't good enough for the job, especially Ole who has such a successful career as a player and always backed himself.

And no, he doesn't deserve the abuse. He isn't good enough, doesn't mean he should be abused. I have no doubt you would be defending the twitter twats who abuse everyone too.

Agreed about getting a new manager. Don't agree about it solving most of the problems. What's up with dof, we'll never get one, Ed will just stroll like he did till now and won't be held accountable for all the mess he created.
Hiring a new manager won't mean we have some plan or idea what we're doing suddenly. What are we going to do to crawl back, what style do we want, do we want more chances to youngsters or the results primarily. We'll just stumble around hoping we'll somehow, accidentally strike gold.

DoF is not every manager's dream either. Going by Spurs fans, it's not something Poch like. Managers like Zidane, Jose wanted complete control on transfers. We just have to pick what suits us.

It's weird thinking how differently we and Chelsea have responded to the 4 - 0 on opening day. Both squads are in a similar state, I'd probably even give us the edge, but there's just so much more cohesion and gameplan to Chelsea. At first I didn't really want to put the blame on poor coaching and tactics but it's starting to seem so. I would be very very surprised if Solskjær manages to turn it around.

We've still got an exciting team. Still some dross amongst them but we shouldn't be performing this bad so it really falls back on Solskjær.

Editet the post. What suits us? Liverpool didn't just hire Klopp, they have completely restructured the club and hired people who work closely with him and cooperate. Same with City, they had everything prepared for Pep.
Don't get me wrong Ole needs to go but what next? Maybe we'll have a new manager bounce, maybe not and we'll continue with bad results.

I mean we can't hire managers who hate working with DoFs and then hire DoF. Recipe for disaster.

I disagree about Klopp and Pep bit. I have said many times, it's just a reverse enginerring. City did well to sign Barca directors but everything was not set for him. They had oldest squad in the league when he took over with poor FBs. If everything was set, he wouldn't have spent so much on defense and GK.

Likewise for Klopp. Rodgers didn't get on well with transfer committee and he always said few things against them. Liverpool fans used to criticize their owners saying their net spend is not good, once Klopp was signed they are model owners now.

Managers won't fix everything but they fix the most important part of the football, on pitch results.

I meant that with Pep it was a project, they wanted Pep and got him. Sure he had d all the money he needed at disposal but along with this the whole club has been rising and they're making a brand. Hell I saw a kid in City for a first time ever just the other day. Croatia is a small market and it doesn't mean much but got me thinking that I'll see more and more of this and less United shirts.
Liverpool had shit owners and they got them out. I don't think current ones are model but can you Ed not messing something up in the future.
Also club needs investments, not just new manager. For instance Old Trafford needs work.
Sorry for a flurry of thoughts, it's that kind of a morning. :)

I'm talking about current owners, they got plenty of criticism too and their money ball approach was called all sort of names.

We have other problems, no doubt about it.
