This is akin to Norwich beating Man City.

Only difference being we’re Man United and couldn’t actually get 3 points like Norwich did.

Doesn’t change the fact we are utter turd.

Credit to the Old Trafford crowd too. Didn’t hear a peep from the best fans in the World until they scored. Shit bags.

We were paying the league favourites, current European champs.... We weren't that far off.

Proud of the boys! Bit crap we didnt get the win I felt we deserved, but I think most would have taken a draw before the game.

Bit annoyed with Ole's subs, or lack of I should say.

Robertson was their dangerman all game. We did really well to stifle him in the first half but second half when we went to a three man midfield, it meant our wing backs left our right and left centre midfielders to shuffle across.

They did a fantastic job but Pereira was knackered after 70 mins and should have been taken off sooner.

Would have been so nice to stop thier run and get the three points but wasnt meant to be.
We only used two subs. I would not have taken Rashford off. Put Martial on with him.

Much better than I thought. Perreira and Rashford played well, Lindelof a bit dodgy, but we always need a second goal. Sit too deep in the last 15 minutes when we're 1 up. Fred should have buried his chance though.

As others have said, ole won't be judged by today's game it's against the likes of Norwich next week that will tell us where we are.

Again, very little attacking threat and that worries me for the future. Some serious coaching is needed for this to improve.

Mourinho was hung out to dry when we performed like this. However this is now being considered a good performance because Ole has let the standards drop so low.
If you can't see the difference between setting up like this when you're poor, with an already weak squad, and players injured, playing top of the league, versus setting up like this in standard games, I fear for your analysis skills.

Great tactically untill we clearly sat back and invited pressure onto us. That was shit really.
It was always going to happen though.
We were clearly knackered, which after the amount we had to press isn't surprising.

Why Rashford's goal was given
Jordan Henderson has been on Sky complaining at the decision to allow United’s goal:

“I felt the referee gave a lot of similar type of free-kicks to them in the first half and he didn’t give it to us. But we’ve got to defend the goal better so that’s no excuse. Our level wasn’t up to our normal level.”

But Sky have this from PGMOL, who explain the decision:

Firstly, the on-field referee didn’t think it was a foul and VAR checked/decided that it wasn’t a clear and obvious error to not award the foul.

Secondly, VAR isn’t re-refereeing matches, there is contact but VAR was comfortable it wasn’t enough to disallow the goal.

Everyone would have taken that result before the game. With the way the game panned out, it does feel a little disappointing.

A big mistake changing tactics and sitting back defending, hoping to hit on the break, which would never work with this team in a million years.
We just invited relentless pressure that would ultimately lead to goal scoring opportunities for Liverpool.
It’s a tactical fail, big time.
Jose did the same time after time and we lost a lead, or got beaten every single time he tried it.
I don’t think we ever rode it out once.
Ole blew it on this one, or who ever advised him to go backs to the wall defensive.
This is now being touted as a great result for Liverpool and we are now heading for a relegation scrap.
This is true. In the second half of the season of Mourinho's second year, he got 13/15 points against the top six. We played far more aggressive in those games and it worked (Man City we started to in the second half).

When we go full defence, it does not work. Our defensive game is just not good enough throughout the team to hold out.

Changing formation and parking the bus probably cost us that win. Still a point is probably a good result for us given the state we're in
Once Liverpool settled in the 2nd half they were a class above us and owned the ball , we would not have been able to live with them then unless we parked the bus , when we got the ball we gave it back straight away time after time , the only thing saving us was parking the bus.

And still we so many players back we still gave away an awful goal.

I think we ran out of gas at the end because we put so much into the game. Liverpool were shocking, but we contributed to that by how much we put into that game. Gutted we didn't get the win we deserved, delighted we've stopped them breaking any league records for consecutive wins.

Man of the match - Daniel James? People are on the ale, it seems. The kid spent most of the match on the floor though he did get the assist.

MotM for me has to be Perreira. Set the rhythm from the beginning and continued to make runs which troubled Liverpool. Once he ran out of steam/was instructed to not attack space, our whole attack seemed to collapse.

It told that they could bring on 3 subs and it helped them.

Martial was half fit, and barely touched it when he came on, and I don't even know if we had anything else to bring on.
A teen left back for 2 mins felt risky enough.
Maybe Lingard wasn't fit enough, as he was the other option.

Terrible decision to park the bus against a Liverpool side that we’re playing awful and offering no threat.

A point is a good result but puts more pressure on the games against Norwich and Bournemouth which will be tougher because we won’t be able to play those tactics.

Combination of lucky Liverpool as they have been all year and Solskjear who seems to have little luck as manager.

Would be happy with the draw before the game started but I'm not happy now as United was the better team and deserved the win.

Another bloody error on a goal given away. The nonsense by some that Liverpool didn't play well how many times have they played like that this year and won? Loads! Today Ole got his tactics spot on and the team looked a lot more structured and organised the European champions were basically made look very ordinary for most of that match.

Liverpool created so, so little. Kudos to Ole. He set us up brilliantly. Pereira MOTM, closely followed by Rashford.
Have you just traveled here from an alternate universe? I imagine there must have been a few games per trillion alternate realities in which Pereira deserved MOTM. In this universe, however, he was garbage. And so was Fred.

The performance was excellent considering the lack of quality in our team. Ole deserves credit for the way he set us up if you take into consideration the players he had at his disposal. Rashford was very good along with James and gave us a chance with their pace and ability to stretch Liverpool which resulted in us scoring.

Liverpool were shite and their fullbacks non existent for the majority of the game.

I’m not saying we conceded purely because rashford was subbed, but I don’t think there was a need to make any subs today. It felt like the win was delicately balanced on us maintaining the momentum with the players that had started the game.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Correctly predicted the score for the first time for ages.

However, disappointed we didn't win. Ole got the tactics right at last and with a bit more calmness we could have got the second.

Rojo makes a mistake and we pay for it. Feel more optimistic than for a while, get Martial and Pogba fit and playing and we should start climbing the table as long as Ole gets the tactics right.

DDG had very little to do. Stopped Liverpool equalling the record which is a bonus.

Happy with the draw. Thought we were gonna get smashed to be honest. Though I'm still a bit gutted. United had it and young had to be an idiot at the perfect opportunity. It was just so easy after all that.

The fact that we could have won this game is equally encouraging as it is annoying.
I would love your optimism, but this game still reminded me of what we have played like against Southampton and Newcastle. No attacking plan, hoping for mistakes and defensive lapses by our team.

Our side still looks paper thin as well. Only really martial to call upon and Woodward needs answer serious questions about this.

Are you kidding me? The same bs logic again.

Did you watch the first half with your eyes closed or something? So we can have our players play half-decent when we are 0-0 but have to revert to prime Stoke the moment we take the lead. Is it because our players lose all their ability when we go a goal up?

As for Mourinho, we played like this against a high-flying Liverpool when we won 2-0 and the only reason that was absolved is because we won the game. This sitting back like absolute cowards is horrible to see. You maybe fine with it and can stick to your excuses because it is Ole. I would rather call it as it is.

I’m astounded at the moaning going on here post match. Ffs.
We got a point, played decent, give everything yet posters are still going in on the players and manager.
They're idiots.Could we have been a little braver and not dropped so deep towards the end?Probably but we're in a bad place at the minute and winning that game would have been big.First team to take points off Liverpool this season. Not bad but i'd have been much happier with the three points.
