It’s hard to judge ole on this game... the players were pumped up probably from that all 11 Liverpool lineup that’s been in the press.

let’s see how we do over the next 5 or so games

I think the team is better than the position they are in. Solskjaer has been under performing with this squad. It certainly has weaknesses, but it should not be in the position it is in.

We were better against Liverpool, but he is clueless against lower opposition, who don't give our team any space.

HELLO
His ingame management is shocking. Every game follows the same pattern of starting somewhat decently and going downhill

So how can it be that the squad is shite for the last 6 months or so, considering we were missing Pogba, Martial for all but 5 mins and Shaw, yet we matched the best team in the league currently man for man?
We're a typical game-raising team these days?

I don't know mate, honestly. All I know is we pulled off a result against Liverpool where no one expected it to happen.

Yes because Pogba and Martial have been missing for six months. Have you been watching us for the last six months?
I only care about this season where we improved a huge amount defensively as well as dominating games against smaller sides. We have problem breaking them but it will come.

We had a fecking 20% possession in the 2nd half. If it's acceptable to you - fine but to me it's ridiculous.
What?? 20%? I remember that game when Jose played on 0-0 at Anfield. Reactions after that game were like we lost 5-0. From fans, media and pundits.

I guess you can't have a normal conversation here anymore. You can't say he had a good game tactically, some won't let go.

This was a classic Mourinho performance, one which almost all on this board hated but now it's a tactical masterclass?
You're right, this isn't what we want to see and it's obvious this isn't how Ole wants us to play. It's also obvious we don't yet have the quality to outplay Liverpool at their own game. So yes, this was a tactical masterclass and yes I do hope we don't have to resort to these tactics again next season.

Dominating games? Name me a game where we scored more than twice against these so called smaller teams?

Celebrating a draw at OT against the scousers, go you. How times have changed.
A few seasons ago we pulled off a draw at Anfield - a place where we NEVER play well - and José was universally crucified for it.

How times have changed indeed.

How do you know this isn't how Ole wants us to play? Most of his games are exactly like this and we are absolutely awful going forward.

Ole’s got to go. Can’t even beat Liverpool. Liverpool would be shite if it wasn’t for Klopp. The only other managers who could get Liverpool’s shite players going are Poch (I know spurs are shite but Poch is still ace, he just is) and Allegri (boring but who cares - he’s ace).

Ole is the worst. Anything good that happens while he’s here is a coincidence. To be clear: if we win the players must take credit, if we lose Ole must take the blame.

He set up the team brilliant today, considering what kind of players we got.

I see some people in here complaining about possession in the second half. What do you want? This team to try to outplay Liverpool? We aint capable to do that, at all.

We are good against sides that keeps the ball and terrible against teams when we must have the ball.

Today was a good match all things considered. Too bad about that goal, but with what we got, it's a good point.

Pep wouldnt manage this side with possession based football either, it would kill us.

Let Ole have a few more windows, and then judge us. This season is a season where we're gonna have a lot of ups and downs. If we could nick a cup title it would be a good season.

Rebuilding takes time!!

Ole plays like this since this season started. How the hell people know that he wants/knows to play attacking football. This is ridiculous now. I keep hearing on this forum how Ole is attacking coach and shit like that. How he is attacking coach? He plays cautios against minor teams ffs

This thread says everything about the modern United supporter.
Decent performance against the European Champions who most expected to thrash us, but we only drew so as expected the usual suspects are out in force here.

I think this team has potential if we get a decent manager in. The players aren’t as bad as everyone thinks. When they have guidance and are coached/trained properly they can produce.

Look at today - we were missing many players and played those who are called dross every week, yet for first time in a while we looked good agains a top side. Regardless of the tactics being negative you should play to your strengths and we did today till the very end.

The team has potential, put a progressive manager at helm and I think we can show better play and results.

I've seen that exact performance too many times to say the side was unlucky. But I will say Ole got the tactics right.

It's a better point for United than it is for Liverpool you daft buggers. Could quite easily have won that if it wasn't for the gift near the end.

How and why did we drop too deep and why were their fullbacks were being given too much room to cross the ball. I think a change of tactics by going for a back three was perfect as it masked our weaknesses in midfield and attack.

Why? If you have a stronger squad relative to AZ, Rochdale, Alkmar, Newcastle etc.. Why should we have to point to how we have a weak squad compared to what wed like to have?
It is an excuse when we lose against teams with similar squads.
Because this same weak squad with little to no backup has to play every game and are expected to perform at a certain level.

We have players like Williams, Garner, Gomes, Greenwood, Chong in the 18. Do Newcastle have to do that?

The squad, not the 11, we had in those games was pretty bad.

There is a reason fergie used to say playing United is like a cup final for these clubs. Not just United, most top sides.. These teams raise their game. They can take the game before/after it lightly and often drop points.

We have to be always on.. and with that squad and no option for rotation, we are fecked.

We played Arsenal, Leicester and Liverpool. Did well.

The easy games is where we need our squad.. and we dont have a good one.

Can't believe the level of moaning after we were a few minutes away from beating the best team in the league and stopping their winning form

You can't use the squad excuse when it's still a better squad than the teams I've named though - that's my point. You can't keep using the squad excuse when it doesn't always apply.

Not once in all the games against teams finished in the top half last season with the exception of today have I felt that our players are inferior than the opposition and we got ok results in all 5 of them.

Some though like to convince themselves with this narrative, so they could ignore the obvious deficiencies of Ole as a manager.

Great effort from the team and a decent performance. That said, pressing didn't work in the 2nd half, because the team didn't have enough possession and got tired.

The team can play counter-attacking football but it's not enough to do well in the PL now when United are (supposed to be) favourites in most games. A win at Norwich might give a new impetus. Another draw/loss...

The tactical setup for me was flawless. If I'm going to blame him for something it'll be his in game management of subs by the end of second half. Otherwise, probably the only good tactical match we had this season.

Yeah, avoid answering questions about all these imaginary games you made up where we dominated these smaller teams.

Considering how shit we’ve been it’s hard to be disappointed with a draw. It’s exactly the same pattern of game as last year, when we were winning.

Long term it’s not going to be good enough tactics, but for now with the low quality players, up against a confident team, it’s not bad at all.
