Put some effing respect on this mans name! That tactical change in the second half when Chelsea started to dominate....perfect. No free kick without that change. Easy mode and has golden boy Lamps in his back pocket! Take the 2 best attacking players out of any team and they will struggle going forward, defensively we are sound as a pound under him. Give him time to build his vision, he will come good.

Before this run of games everyone was slagging him off, saying we'd get nothing. Doesn't matter how we did it. We did it. Lots of you were saying Ole couldn't get the results. Now he has, what you saying?
Now it's the style of play that isn't good enough. Who cares if Chelsea couldn't create more than a half-chance

I'm convinced people are moaning for the sake of it.

We where good tonight...........played well on the ball and looked to attack once we won it back.......moved it quick as well.

Only complaint was 2nd half bad start but his changes turned it around.

Starting to play better again.

class from ole tonight. Tactically bossed that game at what Is probably the hardest away fixture we ever have historically. Only one game but hope it shuts up a lot of the idiots moaning about tactics, coaching and the buzz phrase “patterns of play”

Good result.

It's becoming a very common theme going into the half 0-0/1-0 up and then just waiting for the opposition to score in the second half before reacting to it.

People moaning here after a win at SB.

We are always bad there, even at our best, we usually lost to them in SB.

Just take the win and be happy for today.

First half Chelsea didn't even get close to Romero. Second half they were neutralized as well. I've never been so comfortable watching us play in SB.

And to people saying how can Liverpool and Arsenal play attacking football with their 2nd team, have you even seen the defending? That was atrocious. Is that really what you want? Conceding 5 in a game?

The less we play Lingard and Mata, the better we perform. It feels like Solskjaer's finally starting to work it out.

To me United was not especially defensive at all in the first half. The second, though, I'll agree. But you will always be more risk averse when you're leading a game when you play an opponent at your own or higher level.

Happy with him today, pleased he played a strong team. It made no sense to me all the posters demanding everyone be rested. This team needs games together and a big win like this will help. He changed it when we lost control and we took control back.
Just needs to stop picking Lingard now, as in never pick him again, ever.

I remained silent on criticizing or praising Ole after Norwich as I wanted to see if we’ve actually improved. This match is proof we’re still exactly the same.

Imagine the moaning on here if we conceded five goals to Liverpools C-team.

Ffs, people moaning about him being too defensive against Chelsea away. Would you have preferred a 5-5 game and lose on penalties?

Its either moaning about him being defensive when winning or moaning about not getting results, or playing well against Norwich, but it only being Norwich. Some people just love moaning. They probably don't want the team doing well unless its under the specific manager they want...

Don’t react to it. Just spread the positivity. We know what’s going on.

Pretty sure the moaning would have been worse. This agenda driven posts are getting boring now. Negativity all the time.

The important thing is that the players showed great effort and determination today, they are clearly still fighting for him. So for now, it's Ole In. Hopefully the worst period is behind us

Excellent substitutions tonight. Brought the right players on and changed the game back in our favour. Martial made their defense have a rethink and was able to neutralize their midfield quite nicely.

Full credit to Solskjaer and the coaching team for the set-up tonight. Was in full control from start to finish really.

That doesn't happen by accident, let alone vs an exciting Chelsea team at home.

What i also liked was his positive substitutions after the Chelsea goal. We were looking shaky then, but he managed to stabilise us and regained control.

I've been very critical of Solskjaer in recent weeks but that was a top performance from him tonight.

Good luck to all on redcafe. The moaners and trolls are to many. Hopefully you will find your manager. But i doubt it. After beating chelsea on a 7 game winning streak, keep complaining. Just because we did not win 5 0. Entitled fanbase!

I’m obviously over the moon we won and want Ole to succeed more than any manager post SAF. If we carry this into Bournemouth on Saturday I reckon he’ll start to get some fans on board again or at least climbing back on board. We must start beating inferior teams, not just raising our game against teams above us.

Where the grass is greener.
One of his best tactical performances.

At the moment we can't play the attacking football we all want to see, and he's making it work. Fair fecks to him.

I still really doubt his long term prospects, but wins like tonight help his cause of lasting a little while longer, that's for sure.

So: McTominay, James, Pereira and Fred have all shown obvious improvements since last year/start of the season. But Ole does not improve players according to some here.

Our new plan is sit back and just hope we can counter. We need a fecking attacking style. This is horseshit. We're an absolute chore to watch.
Never learns. How many times have we seen us desperately try to hang onto 1-0 and concede as we stop playing football in 2nd half? Terrible.
You two guys talk too much sense. We have no pattern in our game instead of high pressing and park the bus if we have a lead. This tactic may work for you in some big games here and there, but in the long run it's not sustainable (Especially against the "poor" teams where you need to break them down). This so-called great run we have ( Beating the worst team in the league and a pub team in europe) will paper over the cracks in the same way it did when Ole won his first 9 games. I mean we were really really lucky against spurs when we won 1-2 but apparently Ole was some kind of genius for his setup when in reallity it was thanks to Rashford and Pogba that we won that game. The exact thing will happen now thanks to a wonderful Rashford free kick.

This game like the other big matches suits his defensive counter attacking tactics- I had a good feeling he will win today. Basically just defend. He have the defenders to sit deep and the fast strikers in the front to make it simple and a effective formula.
But unfortunately for him we only play 10 matches ,maybe 2/3 in the cup against big teams and 28 matches vs other 14 teams. So this doesn't really change anything or teach us something we didn't know previously. How we set up vs these 14 teams will settle his fate in the end.

Mctominay has bossed it in his last two appearances, and Periera seems to be growing into the number 10 role. Fred was energetic tonight but he isn't influencing the game as much as we'd like.

The players are showing improvement, no doubt.

So can we conclude coaching does take place. Ole is a tactical master. He is developer of youth. He knows the United way. He even coaches “patterns of play” Oles at the wheel. fecking buzzing off tonight hope a lot of “fans” reassess their selves tonight
