I’ll be the first to admit, I did not see that win coming... but I will gladly take it.

It seems the team is starting to figure a few things out. Gonna remain cautiously optimistic.
We were flexible enough to go from a 3-5-2 to something more conventional late on.

Good that he's pragmatic

Williams should be starting forget shaw or young
I didn't think he was very good tonight. There were a few times where when a player is dribbling at him he just keeps backing up and backing up. You can't just let a guy walk into the 18 like that. At some point you have to step up and force him outside, make him pass, or make a tackle. If it were Young backing up the way that he was the Caf would be losing their minds...

Don't do that.

Chelsea were decent tonight. They’re a good team. But tonight frank was just outclassed with his game management. He will learn from it and come back stronger.
With the help of a bent ref, a suspect penalty and a freak free kick your old pros did scrape, foul and time waste their way to a narrow win against our brave kids.

Nah, we were shit first half, better second bit not good enough on the night.

McTom and Williams should both have been sent off though.
Yeah, I honestly thought it was an even game. Think the only fault was that your boys didn't seem to have their shooting boots on.

We definitely had some luck in our favour, not least from Rashford's boots.

Just seen the goal from a different angle where the away fans behind the goal go berserk. Superb support yet again.

Seems a bit unfair to be negative, but can someone tell me what Fred is actually good at?
Fred was really good today. This is the first time I was so impressed with our midfield that I kinda don't want Pogba to come back. If we buy a decent No.10, this team could actually be genuinely good.

Looking for Eric
Good to see the team has the fight and not looking lethargic. Ole got the tactics right when Chelsea were on top in the second half.

Good away win. I would have liked to keep a clean sheet and I was surprised that Maguire didn't give a professional foul on Batshuyi before he shot. Rashford with a good pk. Hard and low. Same placement as the weekend but with more power. I'm surprised the Chelsea keeper went the other way. Has Rashford ever kicked a pk to the right? Either way, I don't think it would have been saved if he did guess right. And what a free kick. Something Ronaldo-esque in that one. Too bad he was pretty quiet for the rest of the game so even though Rashford got 2 goals, I didn't give him MOTM today...

Young has been doing it for years, Williams is still learning and improving. This was a step up from Zagreb and he put in some crucial blocks and challenges

I'm pretty sure Williams has been playing FB longer than Young has. Don't get me wrong, I like what i've seen of the kid so far. But he's not ready to be our #1 LB yet and anyone who says that is only kidding themselves. We tend to go easier on the kids than the established player. A kid puts in a 6/10 performance and we talk him up like an 8. A veteran puts in a 7/10 performance and we put him down like a 5...

This might sound like a cliche but I feel it is correct in this case. We lack a leader like Roy Keane.

Prior to Chelsea's goal, there were loads of instances where we were too casual and making mistakes. Rashford losing possession several times in a row, Williams and Rojo not communicating well enough and allowing Hudson Odoi to get between them and pull off a shot he could've easily scored from, the throw in we botched just before the goal etc. That Chelsea goal was coming from a mile away.

We need someone who both recognises these things and actually have the influence to nip it at the bud.

Another good win and another good performance.
Tactically we got it right but the players deserve loads of credit, after the poor run we went on this is a big step forward for us.
We desperately need to win on the weekend, we'll be on a bit of a run if we can.

Tactically Ole got it spot on for me. A much better team first half and although Chelsea took the game to us for the first 15-20 of the 2nd, Ole changed it and it turned around again.

Rashford great, as was McToMinay, Williams and Fred too but Maguire was a fecking rock at the back, rarely lost a challenge, ok you might be able to say he may of been at fault for their goal but it’s clutching at straws for me. Proper captain performance.

Have to say it was probably the most compete performance I've seen from us under Ole. First half against Liverpool was pretty good but it was spoiled by sitting back in the second. Tonight we kept having a go even if there's wasn't much spark up front. Keep going like this and I may have to think about changing my vote.

Who doesn't?

I'd take the entire team that Keane led TBF but we've moved on.Leaders will emerge but Keane,Davids, Vieria types are a rare breed. We were kind of lucky to have 3 around who were that great

Great win and did brilliantly to respond when it looked like the game was swinging in their favour. Got a bit of momentum now so that's another reason it was a good idea not to make too many changes.

Good performance. Did the running without the ball. Chelsea did look good too though. Id say the future is bright for bought clubs at the minute but neither will rip up tree trunks this season. But we showed resilience and came back after conceding which is good to see. Rashfords comments at the end were good, saying how theyve been down, felt like theres some fighting spirit in the dressing room. Good night for us.

I just can't get over Fred, Scott and William's engines. It's really mind-boggling seeing Fred pressing opposition boxes in the 85th minute.

Would love to see them do the beep test
I don't get the hate towards Fred, myself. And like you, I love seeing him press to the final whistle. His aggression is why he's there, not his finesse. What he costs in lost balls, he'll make up for in other ways. I tried watching his off-ball movement tonight and thought it was good, as well.

Interesting too, that Ole put Young in at LB and moved Williams over to RB, when Young played RB all of last year. It seemed obvious to me that Young has been playing better at LB this year than at RB last year, but for Ole to go that far with the substitution... guess I like it because I agree.

In that case so should Batshuayi (before he scored) :smirk:

Alabama but always Wales in my heart
Williams is going to force Young into retirement at this rate. We still need Shaw though, got to have 2 players for every position and unless we are about to splurge mega money on Chilwell we are not going to get anyone better than Luke at this point. We need to spend the big money in the midfield and attack right now.

I get irrationally angry when people call McTominay “McSauce”.

We were good after scoring the first goal. The midfield especially in the second half kept the shape. If only we can get a very good defensive midfield player we can play a lot better. McTominay is wasted as a defensive midfield player I feel though he did exchange with Fred. Too often the centre was abandoned but tonight especially in the second half we held it.
Rashford scored a brilliant goal but I still feel that he plays too much on his own. Rojo may be a better bet as a CB to partner Maguire. Lindelof is too weak and cannot head for his life. Plus Rojo is quicker and harder than Lindelof.
Lets see how the PL pans out.

He really isn't. He broke up attack after attack by some great reading of the game

Have you watched his other videos posted on YouTube? The kid has single digit IQ. He was just thinking going into this interview "I was the star of the show, what did they teach me to say when that's the case? Ah right 3 points"
You could write stories for a living.
They'd be shit but still.
