I fecking knew it, 5 chances we had to put this game to bed.

Are they so thick? It's Martial and Rashford who score goals, not Pererea and Fred. Get the ball to the players who have the skills!
Not sure if serious. The chances have been falling to Fred and Perera because they have been the ones in space. Martial and Rashford have both been heavily marked. You can hardly blame players for passing to teammates in yards of space.

The negative guys come flowing out of the woodwork the moment the opposition score.

    Every. Single. Time.

Bright first 15 but in typical United fashion, allowed the opposition to play and have the next 15, then it just went flat until they scored. Horrendous defending for their goal, inexcusable really, basically just gave them a goal for nothing.

    His name is Ashley Young
Our problems in defence extend way further than Ashley Young. We've been conceding easy goals left, right and centre, but people are like "our xGa is super low which means our defenders are doing well", which is kind of irrelevant when the opposition only needs a half chance to score a goal.

Everyone's blaming individual errors for that statistical anomaly, but if we keep committing those errors then it becomes the norm.

Will the Andreas is good myth die please.
I don't think anyone thinks he's good, tbh. It's just that, compared to Mata and Lingard, he does stuff, so, until Pogba's back, he's our best option there as bad as that is.

Got to wonder where Lindelof was heading when King chested that. Bissaka doesn’t do great but Lindelof should have been trying to cover him.
There was a man two meter further out, think he tried to cover that (potential) pass.

Lindelöf, Young, Fred, and Pereira will not make the starting lineup for top teams trying to make a push to achieve something.

Irrespective of personnel, we just can never seem to concentrate for 90 min in any game meaning we always have to score 2-3 to win games. I cannot for the life of me work our why defenders fall asleep when it's the one job they have.

We’ve pretty much controlled the game, and then we go and gift them one right on half time
That's a recurring theme isn't it? Control play, don't take chances, defend poorly, concede. Happens over and over again.

James could have picked out Rashford. Pereira could have also done so when he got the ball in the box instead of shooting and blasting over from an awkward angle

Did you really expect him to do exactly that? I agree that AWB shouldn't have left his back and let him turn, but to expect him to flick it over his head like that? No way.
All he had to do was stay behind him. There's nothing he can do with his back to the goal. Flick or turn AWB would be there. It's awful defending.

I'm really frustrated because we started well, but as usual if we don't make the most of it we start to look a bit clueless and will get caught out.

The cross should never have been allowed. I have said in the past that Young is a fake. Look at the space he gave for the cross and furthermore he turned his back.
Yes AWB should have been tighter on King.

So it's not AWB's fault then?
AWB could have done better but Lindelof doesn’t attack the ball, instead runs away trying to predict a lay off. Just deal with the danger first!

It all stems from young giving them too much space on the left anyway, he doesn’t know how to deal with Wilson which is stupid

Yeah for depth, regardless of his role. It will directly or undirectly improve our depth
Yeah I get you. Thought you were implying we need a squad player/super sub. Need someone who can come in, provide competition, ideally start and score a tonne of goals for us. Couldn’t tell you who though. Haaland?

I don’t quite get the rules with pens. This season players have felt contact and dropped to the ground and it’s a pen. It happens every week. So Martial does it and he’s labelled a cheat?

We havent got anyone in midfield who could give us abit of creative spark. When Pogba is out we're well and truly fecked in that area.

Think that might be the game. We’re struggling to create any quality chances and Bournemouth have no need to commit men forward. Would much rather have Smalling in this team than Lindelöf.

The marking was really off for that goal. Not really sure why AWB was the one marking King in that position. Still, it's a collective mistake and not great to be going into half time 1-0 down.

Honestly, with the way that we're playing today, I think we'll have to come out fighting in the second half with a much better performance. We seem to have dropped back a bit too far, whereas we actually started the game on the front foot. All of our best play has come from the right and James has usually been involved with most of it.

Pereira hasn't been too convincing, but maybe he'll improve after half-time. Need to be a bit more clever with our passing. If the ball isn't going along the ground, maybe we need to work with that and go longer, or work at whipping better crosses into the box.

Funny how people get freekicks for the same shit Martial did not get a penalty for. In the same game.

But ey, as one here said; we can't keep relying on penalties. We sure as hell can't give away free goals like this one. King could just stand there in the middle of 3 defenders and do whatever he wanted. Pathetic defending.

Our defense is highly overrated. Get Smalling back.

Andreas Pereira is not it. One of the kids can play the position much more intelligently than he is doing.
its not like the rest have been any good either. James the only one who has been fine.

How much did we spend on the defense this summer? And how many clean sheets do we have? It's actually embarrassing, our loanee Dean Henderson has more than De Gea, who I would also blame for this goal. DDG is not brave enough and in the last year has also lost a lot of his sharpness.
