Are you seriously blaming Young for that? AWB was in a position where a central defender should be, not our LB. Like I said, "Scapegoat much?"
No, I'm not and I didn't. if you look at what i replied too - I was stating that Young is our weak link...

Do you think he was close enough to stop that cross? (Red circle)... never mind this was the most attacked side today and will be as long as hes playing there... simply.

WAN must have been told to mark the number 7, because really he shouldn't be there.

Didn't have high hopes for this one, basically relying on most of the same players who'd put a shift in v Chelsea midweek.

Losing a few of these sort of games is where we are at the moment unfortunately

I guess if you go back far enough you can find whatever scapegoat you want. Perhaps Fred should have closed down his midfielder before the ball got wide. Or maybe Perriera should have closed down their RB a few passes before. Or perhaps we can go back even further. Just as long as we don't blame the players who were right there with King when he got the ball...sigh

Very much so if they honestly believed this squad is good enough to challenge for any honours. Pogba and Martial is 2 out of 28 in our squad and arguably two players that might be good enough for us. You say it wasn't good to show the players the manager was going to take the fall, what would sacking Ole over the players poor performances now, do? Exactly that. It's time to put the blame where the blame lies, on the players.
I've voted to keep Ole, but there's a tinge of "we've made our bed, let's lie in it" to my opinion.
Problem is -- we all knew Mourinho was a competent manager. Really an extremely good one. We don't know that about Ole.

Very true, and even he could not get this bunch of players to play anything resembling a cohesive style of football. I think at least there are signs that Ole is doing what most on here were screaming out for under Mourinho, signing young, up and coming talent and getting rid or benching the underperforming oldies (Matic, Mata, Young etc).

Yes you can argue the signings made, bar James, are obvious, but they still have to be made. By that logic all the top 6 should've signed AWB or Maguire cause it was obvious. The belief in the kids are amazing to see (whether they are ready or not) and must be a huge boost for the current crop trying to break through, which has some of our more promising talents signing new contracts or rumoured to sign new contracts, for me it looks brighter than it did under all all our previous post-SAF managers, however bleak it might look at this very moment. Sometimes you have to take a few steps back to move forward.

I thought McT was poor but he is a youngster bound to be inconsistent. Fred... well... less said the better.
at least McT tried to drive forward, put in tackles and showed passion. can't say that for anyone else on the park (except Williams' five minute cameo)

It's baffling that isn't it, if you look at that right there you'd think Maguire was the RB, AWB the RCB, Lindelof the LCB and Young the LB. I mean seriously how are 3 of the back 4 in completely the wrong position?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tactically we look awful. Cant break down mediocre teams and hope to catch better teams on the break. It doesnt help that Ole has to work with so much dross but you'd think we'd see something?

Shit players can press in a cohesive unit. You dont need to be a worldie for that yet even when we try to press you see players looking over there shoulders to see if others are pressing.

Its an absolute shit show atm.
