It’s just right wing talking points isn’t it? There’s no logic to his any of his points. He just tries to shoehorn “Biden” and “Clinton” into as many sentences loaded with words like “corruption” so Fox News viewers will cheer along with him.
Yeah it seems the general strategy is just throwing out a bunch of conspiracy theories and make it seem like the dems are the bad guys. And then state everything like it’s an absolute fact so that’s all the general population that watches Fox News will see.

I may be slightly off base here but the fact that they want to interview Hunter Biden proves that. It doesn’t matter for the sake of the impeachment hearing whether Hunter and Joe did anything wrong but the GOP seems to want to make that a talking point too. See, it was corrupt!!! Trump was right!!

They've leaked this statement with the intention of having Trump stew all weekend and go on a Twitt rampage. It's a real bombshell.

Mad. The more and more it keeps coming, the harder and harder this gets for the Republicans. They know they’re well past the point of no return.

They’ve just got to stick with their smear campaigns and hope the american public fall on their side.

This is truly damning stuff.
Gym Jordan: This is just hear say.

Schiff: Mr Jordan there is three first hand witness statements testifying the same thing.

Gym Jordan: I said this is heresy!

Its being reported two other eyewitnesses overheard the conversation.
Yeah. Sondland must be bricking it right about now. He has to now testify that Trump told him they will hold the aid unless the Ukrainians start an investigation on Burisma. Trump should be very worried.

Call me cynical but is it really a coincidence that all this aligned so perfectly with Roger Stone’s trial conclusion?

Seems like a coincidence. The impeachment stuff is too high profile and Stone seems more like expired residue from Mueller.

i Think its time for Republicans to stop arguing that he didnt bribe the Ukrainian president. They have a better chance of just saying he did it but so what.

Its a coincidence Rogers trial was always going to be November
I realise that, I’m just wondering if Pelosi, Schiff and their team of lawyers used their experience to time it just right to let the gravity of the situation resonate through the likes of a key witness like Sondland.

He’s royally screwed at this point. There’s no way he will do anything other than drop Trump in at the deep end. He’s a millionaire with a cushty existence and he’s not going to prison for a guy that will sell him out and talk shit about him regardless of how much he might attempt to cover for him.

Stone might take today's developments as his cue to flip. A bit like McCord when he was found guilty for the Watergate burglary.

was going through a bit of the hearing today, it was nice to see Schiff treat the repubs as they should be.

I'd like to be optimistic like that but nothing Stone has ever done tells me he s anything but a completely self absorbed mental case who will never admit to anything. . Sounds familiar I guess. Only difference - is that he can't leverage the power of elected officials as much as Donnie can to try and protect him. What I find interesting though is that Trump keeps covering for him, kinda like Flynn.. Which probably means he has a lot of dirt on the guy.

Yeah if absolutely nothing else it's shown that there are some Democrats with teeth willing to tell Republicans to STFU and stuff it if they don't like it.

It's about damn time they started getting a taste of their own medicine.

Schiff did exceptionally well today, as did all of the Democrats. Jordan and the rest were crowing like idiots trying to grasp at straws after Trump tweeted out his attacks but they probably would've gotten away with it in the past with Democrats looking weak. Not today.

When is Holmes testifying and when does Sondland testify?

Holmes already testified this afternoon came out with some bombshells.

Sondland to testify Wednesday. I can see him coming back and pleeing the 5th after what Holmes has said yesterday.

Its becoming quite likely but he’s already given testimony behind closed doors and there’s already an argument that he lied to Congress. It’s going to be reiterated to him that he has one chance to put that right or he can follow Stone’s lead.

He’s a multimillionaire with an easy life. He’s not going to prison for that busted flush.

I don't see what possible reason Sondland has now to cooperate with the investigation. He would be better off just saying that he was coerced by the deep state to say all those false things before and Trump is innocent. That will ensure the investigation ends and Sondland gets a pardon.

How much do these hearings matter? Clearly Trump is concerned. Every day we follow the news, it ebbs and flows. The show or no show of witnesses. The drama of televised hearings. The quality of testimony and evidence.

But it’s like a fixed boxing match. We know the winner already. Trump will be impeached in the House and given a clean bill of health in the republican senate. What will the effect of that be? While I suppose we cannot entirely rule out a game changing moment, like some big fish (Rudi?) flipping, or a catastrophic own goal, the feeling I have is that the end of this presidency will come when he leaves or dies on the job within the next five years.

Or some change might disrupt the direction of other global sub-currents, which for now are favourable to Trump, e.g. the relationship between Europe and Russia, Ukraine, etc, and the needs of the Kremlin. He rides a powerful wave. But he needs to stay lucky.

And what if the GOP hold the senate or the White House and decide its time for some payback? Or the GOP lose but gain power again in 4 years?

Ukraine have to literally think about the survival of their country as an independent state, US political games are going to come a lot lower on their priorities list.
Exactly. Ukraine can't become tied to one party because one party will not maintain power indefinitely.

Can someone summarise this chaos in a couple of sentences.
Is it a massive waste of time and money or is he in trouble

Well the fact that this shit needs to go into impeachement hearing is an indicator that he'll ride the storm

Any other president would be asked to resign long before this even gets a prime time showing
Yeah the GOP are going to stick with their 'nothing to see here' line right to the death. I think that the Dems know that nothing will come of it but can't continue to claim the moral high ground if they didn't impeach for this.

Trump tried to bride Zelensky (Ukrainian President) to go on cnn and announce a fake investigation into Joe Biden. In return trump would give zelensky a white house meeting and stop holding up the military aid (that Congress had already passed for Ukraine) as ransom.

He's been caught in a transcript saying this, diplomats in Ukraine have seen it happening, Guilliani basically said this was happening and Mick Mulvani had his " A few good men" moment and admitted it at a press conference

The hearings aren't a waste of time. It has to be done even if the Senate acquits him. Congress has a constitutional duty to keep the executive branch in check. This gross abuse of power and criminal conduct needs to be fleshed out.
