As dumb as the Maguire signing. We need a midfielder and RW. The striker can wait until the summer.
The striker will have to wait until the summer too, if we're targeting Haaland, I would assume.

I also don't think it's important in which order we buy our targets. If the striker is available in January, then we should try and get the deal done. The same applies to our potential midfield targets.

In what order we get them is not important no. But we are not spending £85m on a striker and then getting the same values worth for a midfielder. Which is why the striker should be last. I couldn’t care if they was as good as Dirk Kyut. It’s not that important.

Till we got back Martial from injury, almost everyone wanted ole sacked. Do you another injury to Martial, performance go really down and get the coach sacked? We need a striker urgently.

He is so clumsy. He is not a "generational talent" - whatever that is anyway. Compare him to Mbappé for example, Mbappé looked way more impressive at the same age. We will regret spending more than 30 million on him.
I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying, I don't exactly see the sense in releasing Lukaku because he's not a fit for our desired system and then signing this particular player, but it's pretty unreasonable to use Mbappe as the metric by which to gauge whether a young player is worth signing or not. There's probably only ever been a handful of players who were equally as impressive at the same age, if we use Mbappe as the standard we basically don't sign anyone below 20?

I agree. Lukaku is a proven premier league and international goalscorer.
I get it, you like Lukaku. The man still has no guile or tricks up his sleeve, can’t flick or trap a ball and doesn’t play one-touch passes. He has scored a lot of goals...for other teams and Belgium. So, in short, this was a useless exchange.

We don't need to spend a crazy amount on a midfielder. There's value signings out there that should be considered. And we shouldn't pigeonhole ourselfs into signing players just because they're valued at ridiculous prices by certain clubs. Pogba will likely leave and we'll possibly sign Sancho, and a couple of midfielders to add to Haaland for next summer.

Spending a ridiculous amount on the likes of Maddison, Rice, etc would be silly IMO when there's players around Europe who can be just as good if not better than the aforementioned and would be considerably cheaper. AZ player Koopmeiners is one and is a more cultured player in comparison to Rice. Dani Olmo at Shakhtar would also represent better value in comparison to Maddison.

So, I found this interview with Ingrid on UnitedPeoples TV. Sam is alright, from what I have seen. It's about Haland.

85 million is insane money. That kinda money, even in today's market has to buy you proven quality and preferably from a proper football league.

Now, I like the look of haaland and would love to have him here but I'm sure the club do not have a bottomless pit of money just lying around on a player who has much to prove.

We have only around 107 million pounds in the bank, I think.

His goalscoring potential is much much higher than Martial.

But he's a talent, not the finished product. I do though rate him much higher than our current strikers in terms of potential.

I hope we go for him

85mio is too much. He is a fast player with a good Body. Tall and can cover a ball. But sometimes his technic and first touch is a little bit clumsy. But in front of the goal he is incredible good.
Maybe nearly the same type of player as Lukaku. But i think if we didnt paid that much for Lukaku everyone would be happy with him as squad player or option in the front row. Therefore for the right price (not more than 40mio€) we should take Haland.

He doesn't look like a ballet dancer, I'll give you that, but clumsy? No!
Thing is though that he actually is comparable to Mbappe, with better numbers than him both in domestic competition and in Europe. In a weaker league, but Mpabbe is also playing in a one team league. Mbappe has been the best young talent out there this decade in my opinion, and now he has finally got some competition for that position. Mbappe went to PSG for 180M Euro, Felix went to AM for 120M, and Haaland going here or to another top club for 100M should only be expected after the performances he has displayed this season. He is the real deal, and if he scores against Liverpool and Genk in the last two legs of the CL, the football society will go ballistic.
Getting him here would be fantastic for the club and draw other top players and talents to us. It would show great ambition and possibly mark the start of a new upswing for us.

As always, it all comes down to the price if this is right, but anything below 50 mill is reasonable i would say

He’ll sign for Leeds before we get him him that cheap.

We're the only "top 6" club without a prolific goalscorer"

City- Aguero
Chelsea- Abraham
Arsenal- Aubameyang
Liverpool- Salah
Spurs- Kane

Whereas Rashford is showing signs of being a top player he's still learning his trade and question marks remain over Martial's fitness and consistency. Haaland is a no brainer

For the rumoured 85m it is not.

How much will he cost when he bags 50+ for RBS this season and 40+ for Leipzig next season and if Norway qualifies for the EURO Champs in the summer? Would we have a chance of getting him then? It’s a no brainer in my book if it is possible in Jan.

Only if he's genuinely the level of talent (elite ) to be able to be scoring 50 goals for a Bundesliga team. Have you seen enough to feel certain about that ? Is the sample size large enough for you? In Kane's case, he fulfilled the early potential (despite skeptics), but not every talent does.

I have seen enough of him to genuinly believe he is an absolute elite talent. There is no doubt in my mind.
Kane had scored 6 goals as a professional footballer when he turned 20. That is one less than Haaland has scored in the CL for RBS in 4 matches...

40 sounds a bit extreme, but RBL are a good team these days, he could happily hit 20.

Improving our squad and giving us actual competition for places is seen as unnecessary upheaval?! What is this crap. It's not only our team that is miles behind City, our fans approach is miles behind too. We need much more depth than we've got.
We are not at the stage to be thinking about competition for places. We should be thinking of building a great first 11. Then we'll look to the squad, we aren't exactly working with a bottomless pit.
