We already have the Super League final at OT.I don't know, man. OT was meant to play real football. Not that weird shaped thing they throw around in America.

Yes , having a nice stadium is much better than having a successful team.I would rather see them spending on the stadium than the team at the moment .
YepYes , having a nice stadium is much better than having a successful team.
True but FSG also came with a plan which involved winning on the pitch to make money off of it. Also, they didn't load any debt onto the club, don't think they have personally taken anything in dividends/salaries etc and they have done what they promised (re increasing Anfield, build new training facilities). But apart from that, yes, they are exactly the same as the GlazersTheir owners have the same ambition that’s ours have and that is to make money. They weren’t considered great owners until they hit lucky with the right appointment as manager. The same applies to Man Utd. They are also fortunate to not have an attention seeking clown as CEO.
You’re right, they’re incredibly altruistic. We’ll see how good they are as owners when they find themselves without a great manager again.True but FSG also came with a plan which involved winning on the pitch to make money off of it. its another nail in the atmosphere at old traffordOh. I don't think it's that bad to suggest that will look terrible there.
No one said anything about altruism. Just that they are not blood sucking vampires like the Glazers. But their approach is different, increase the clubs value through better operations and on field performance. Thats their dividend, ROI for if and when they decide to sell. You’re right, they’re incredibly altruistic. Right, it's only Klopp then and without him LFC would fall to pieces? Great argument but nothing on the best algorithmic scouting system in the world (created and championed by FSG), the massive increase in revenue that they have instigated and the professionalism that brought Klopp to LFC in the first placeYou’re right, they’re incredibly altruistic. I never said they were like the Glazers in every way though. Just that their ambitions are the same. To make profit. And without a good manager people wouldn’t be talking about how they’re such great owners. And that can be evidenced by the fact that they weren’t prior to Klopp making the team better. No one said anything about altruism. Just that they are not blood sucking vampires like the Glazers. But their approach is different, increase the clubs value through better operations and on field performance. Thats their dividend, ROI for if and when they decide to sell.
What algorithmic scouting system were they using when they bought Rickie Lambert and Paul Konchesky? It’s funny how all the good things happened when they got a good manager.Right, it's only Klopp then and without him LFC would fall to pieces? Great argument but nothing on the best algorithmic scouting system in the world (created and championed by FSG), the massive increase in revenue that they have instigated and the professionalism that brought Klopp to LFC in the first place
One of the great things about FSG is that they learn from their mistakes. From backing off v fans over the proposed pricing system when Anfield was enlarged to changing their transfer system from just buying potential to making the odd statement signing, VVD and Allison. Nobody starts great, SAF certainly didn't but he and they. learned on the job. FSG are very smart, they look like they're in it for the long term and when Klopp leaves there will undoubtedly be some damage but they will have a plan to mitigate and I doubt on the current evidence that we'd be in for a Utd style meltdown
Altruistic? Re-read my post and you'll find I said nothing of the sort
Has it? Their fan base has always been big compared to all but usBut they are on the ascendance though. Everything about them screams positive at the moment and their fanbase has swelled dramatically. Their owners seem to care more than ours.
You mean Fenway Sports Group? But they are on the ascendance though. Everything about them screams positive at the moment and their fanbase has swelled dramatically. Their owners seem to care more than ours.
& of course FSG themselves had no input whatsoever in the appointment of Jurgen Klopp. He was seen walking along Walton Breck Road with a sign saying 'Giz a job', & they thought, "what the hell, what's the worse that could happen ?"You mean Fenway Sports Group?
They weren't saying that a few years ago, they wanted them out as soon as possible.
Just goes to show how a manager makes a football club. Where would United be now without the SAF generation?
!Remindmein365daysRelax lads. We'd still have comfortably the largest club stadium in the country. I doubt we'll see that ever that change in our lifetimes.
We asked for a standing section and this is what they give us?Old Trafford is actually decreasing capacity to 73k for more disabled sections so it's not 15k off.
There's also a new section being added to the top of the Stretford end for disabled.

Quite agree.From the BBC
Liverpool are making waves both on and off the pitch. While OT is in desperate need of a facelift. We are falling behind on everything.
You forgot the unique algorithmic scouting system. You mean Fenway Sports Group?

It's charm and nostalgia dammit.Quite agree.
One club is showing its ambition to continue to improve and achieve.
And the other is quite clearly not.
And I agree with you about OT. Looking very tired and fraying around the edges.
They throw it around in UK too!I don't know, man. OT was meant to play real football. Not that weird shaped thing they throw around in America.
Both the Spanish clubs have big plans though don’t they, ours seem to be repaint it every summer. It's charm and nostalgia dammit.
Honestly tho- it's a bit of the natural eb and flow with just about any sports team no matter how rich or successful. Camp Nou for the longest time was (and maybe still is - - haven't been there in a long time) surprisingly shoddy - Real s taking forever to do something with Bernabeu, Juve moved to a smaller new stadium, Bayern shares theirs with another club, when was the last time the San Siro was updated? Anfield was shoddy for many many years, etc etc.
Your lot fecking hated them for years and you know it.& of course FSG themselves had no input whatsoever in the appointment of Jurgen Klopp. He was seen walking along Walton Breck Road with a sign saying 'Giz a job', & they thought, "what the hell, what's the worse that could happen ?"
They do - but my point is in essence that for a long time OT was in many ways one of the few jewels in the footie world - and in a way still is. And it was so for long before many other clubs started coming up to par with it. I am definitely not jealous of Arse and Spurs for their hyper modern - it all looks the same to me type facilities. What Pool did and is doing with Anfield is cool. I guess we just need that train track by OT to be moved somewhere else. Both the Spanish clubs have big plans though don’t they, ours seem to be repaint it every summer.
As much as I hate to say it Liverpool are showing us up in every department.
The train track thing is a different argument, I don’t think the club has the appetite or money for it. I’m jealous of the spurs stadium though I think it’s those self pouring pints that I really wantThey do - but my point is in essence that for a long time OT was in many ways one of the few jewels in the footie world - and in a way still is. Not to distract from your crowing, but weren’t you lot done just a few years back for hacking into City’s scouting database?Right, it's only Klopp then and without him LFC would fall to pieces? They were using Roy Hodgsons brain at the time hence the urgent need for a system. Lambert was an inspired cheap back-up. Both his goals in 25 apps were things of beauty. I think the system was developed by 2014 but only went live after 2015. LFC didn't send me the memo so can't be any clearer than thatWhat algorithmic scouting system were they using when they bought Rickie Lambert and Paul Konchesky? I wonder what else happened at Liverpool in 2015....They were using Roy Hodgsons brain at the time hence the urgent need for a system. Lambert was an inspired cheap back-up. Increasing capacity isnt about loving the club, it's about maximising profits in the long run.I wonder if we didn't have the biggest capacity, would the Glazer's start investing?
Currently, the biggest stadiums in the PL are about 15,000 seats behind us and it doesn't look like anyone is going to surpass that.
Didn’t you think it look a bit rundown though? From the front facing that big glass facade looks ok but internally it reeks of complacency.I've been lucky enough to visit Old Trafford and the tour.
As much as I want United to modernize Old Trafford, I'd rather we focus on rebuilding on the team first, success brings more revenue, revenue means more development for the infrastructure..
For the time being, I don't think any club will look to beat us in terms of stadium capacity. So we're safe for now. Better start winning something in the next 5 years, Ole!
Based on what exactly ?Your lot fecking hated them for years and you know it.
there was 82000 people queuing online for what is believed to be less than 1000 tickets per game for their remaining non top 6 PL games yesterdayWith absolute ease, actually. It's nigh on impossible to get tickets through the official application process if you're not a privileged member right now.
That's just the new main stand photoshopped to fit. If you look, all three stands in that picture are exactly the same. FSG have said that details will be released at the end of this month
