A loan deal would only include fringe players,
So Bale, Mandzukic, Rakitic,?
So weird calling Rakitic a fringe player. He'd walk into any team in the world, including Barcelona under different circumstances.

Rakitic would be amazing but I cant see why he'd come here. I'll be happy with Dzeko and any proven midfielder really.

I'd enquire about Mandzukic.

Experienced player who has been there and seen everything in the game. Would be a brilliant option off the bench and has the nous that could make the difference in tricky Europa League ties, which is our only hope of getting back into the Champions League anytime soon.

What about John McGinn, why is his name not mentioned anymore?
And, while I do think Haaland is a player we shouldn't give up on trying to sign no matter what, why do we not cash out big on ONE top world midfielder like Kanté, Thiago, Eriksen, KDB excetera.. In my eyes, a leader type, strong mentality type midfield player would solve ALOT

I could be wrong but Players available on loan are usually highly salaried players who are not getting much game time. So I presume that Ole was referring to the likes of Bale, Can, Mandzuikic, Rabiot etc.
Not sure this fits in with United strategy
Doesn't help that Ole hasn't got a clue about the European market outside of those players that you have mentioned, you see paper talk about the likes of Olmo, Zainolo, Zakaria but get the distinct impression he doesn't have any knowledge on these players at all.

He just sees the players with premier league experience or those who are british in the lower leagues such as Phillips and White who don't get me wrong aren't bad players but need to look outside of the UK sometimes.

What happened to "I trust my squad, we've aold some to let the kids grow up etc".?
I think deep down Ole is starting to realise letting go of so many last summer and not being able to replace them properly is proving to be a very costly mistake indeed. We simply have to bring some squad depth in this January because otherwise our players are going to be burnt out pretty damn quickly from playing far too much.

I know that Bale divides opinion on here but why not at least try to see if we can get him on some kind of loan deal, he cannot be popular in Spain after that stuff with the Wales, Golf, Madrid flag last week. We also could really do with a midfield loan signing too to take some pressure off Pogba at least until the summer.

I bet feckin' Ole doesn't know much about the best tea to buy either when making tea for the club; or the best place to get bacon outside Wilmslow. Dumb ass.

Ole Out.

So the biggest club in the world is reduced to getting loans in a bid to get out of 9th place. Moldefisication of Manchester United is complete

Mandzukic & Can are the obvious names due to zero to low appearance records this season. Rakitic also, but I feel Barca would and could get a 20M fee from somebody like atletico - who are probably more appealing to the player.

Dzeko, Bale, Cavani are all part of first team plans at there respective clubs and no go options.

Rakitic would be great if we could pull it off. Quality and experience is sorely needed in CM.

He is trying to bring in players on the cheap from lower division. Shows how low we have gone. These Cnuts are ruining our club.

Agreed. Our midfield would instantly look much much better especially when Pogba comes back

----Rashford------------Martial---------------James
------------------------------Pogba----------------------------
-------------------Rakitic----------McTominay----------
Williams-------Maguire-----Tuanzebe------AWB
--------------------------------DDG-----------------------------

We still need a defensive midfielder and a striker though.

It's actually amazing how replacing just one player makes a team, at least on paper, look so much better.

If we can get Cavani on loan I would take that. However, we need bodies in midfield more, so if Rabiot, Can or Rakitic are available on loan, I would take either of them till the end of the season with the option to buy in case they do impress.

Adding Rakitic to the starting lineup alongside a fully fit squad makes our team look decent! Rakitic instantly improves our starting 11, while at the same time giving us a little bit more depth in midfield and enables us to bring in Fred and Matic (if he stays) into the team when required if rotation is needed.

Do you think Rabiot may come? He hasn't played many games for Juventus for reasons I'n not sure of. I'm thinking he may want to come for some extra playing time.

Not exactly a loan, but since Jose said no to bringing Zlatan to Spurs, I wouldn't mind seeing him return in some type of short term deal.

Rabiot has only started 4 games this season and with the Euros in the summer I am sure he would want game-time from January till the end of the season, even though he probably has a slim chance of making the squad due to some issues with him and the national team if I remember correctly.

Not sure why he hasn't played enough for Juve...

Our two most realistic options are Mandzukic and Can. I personally have never been sold on Can but he'd be a huge upgrade on Pereira so beggars can't be choosers.

Sell Pogba. Can some serious Winter cash$$ It feels an age since we have seen Pogba play. Most of the time you get disappointed, and if not you there's just drama.
Get the cash.

Buy Sancho. Loan Manzukic. Loan Rabiot with option to buy. Loan Rakitic with option to buy. Done.

I think Julian Draxler could be an option for a loan deal. For sure not my favourit one, but he could be realistic.
All players like Cavani etc. who are important for their team or out of contract in summer will not be loaned out.

he did say in the summer he wanted a replacement for Lukaku

are you sure?
I think he said that if we sell a striker we would look at replacing him but once we actually sold Lukaku he then flipped and made the comment.
It may have been Ed telling him that the money from Lukaku balanced the outlay on Maguire and that the wallet was now closed for the summer.

We need a couple of experienced players in midfield. Someone around 27-30 or thereabouts. I'll take a couple of journeymen as long as they can really bring these young players on. Fecking shame we let Herrera go so easily

It's so obvious, We're lacking leaders right now

This is such a simple concept. It amazes me how many supporters cannot understand this!
I guess sacking the coach is more fashionable.

It’s not supporters though. I speak and travel to matches with supporters who have been going since the 1960s and they get the concept.
It’s the posters and armchair fans who just feel that Sancho,Haaland,Madison etc plus chucking in Gomes and Chong every now and then is the answer.

I remember Fergie buying a whole group of experienced players: Wallace,Phelan to add to Hughes,Robson,Whiteside. He brought Hughes back as I recall from Bayern Munich
