At any point have I said that?
You said we need to accept it and you seem to think Ole can do no more because the players are shit.

I agree to an extent, this is easily the worst Utd squad I can ever remember, we lack quality all over the pitch and the centre midfield today was Championship level at best.

But being 9th in December, winning 4 out of 14 games this season, the shit football, being outplayed by Sheffield Utd and Aston Villa for large parts of the game the last two weeks. We aren't that bad. At any other PL club a manager with a 27% win rate and 6 wins in their last 23 league games would be in big trouble. We're Man Utd for feck sake.

It's absolutely obvious Ole isn't good enough.

He is a nice guy, so they give him a nice treatment. Managers that go toe to toe with the press, the press are turning on them in times like these.
Hmm we have seen a lot of nice guys being under pressure right from the off. Maybe because of United being a big club in combination with that is the reason he gets a free pass.

In one proper window? Sure.
Other clubs manage to do it just fine. It's not rocket science that we needed to bring in 2 midfielders and at least 1 forward with losing lukkaku.

Whose decision it was to splash 80M on slab-head when we had more pressing areas as you say? Also allowing to leave Lukaku and Sanchez without accepting any replacements? Poor decision-making during the summer has basically cost him, if he can't even anticipate such obvious things he shouldn't be anywhere near the managerial role.
You seriously think that's all down to Ole? Have you not seen the recent info floating around about our process, and how Jose's move for that same player for considerably less was blocked?

Our squad was and still is a fecking state. Some serious revisionism going on if you think CB wasn't a priority previously.

I can't believe he let Herrera go. I can understand not wanting to pay him those wages, but if you're giving those wages to Rashford I can understand him leaving. It would not have been 2-2 with him today. We would not have been so easily ran over in midfield, we might have had some more urgency. Criminal decision letting go of the only player in the last 5 years who could actually be a good candidate for captain.

He's made several awful decisions and there is no evidence to say we should invest in him.
There was nothing he could do about it, you cannot force a player to sign an extension he doesn't want to. The bigger blunder is not having a CM, specially when we lost Fellaini.

I don't think it's as much that we didn't need a quality CB, but that our scouting must be shit to consider Maguire to be the best option out there for a world record fee. Under Fergie we managed to Vidic and Evra for 6 mil each. Of course the market is inflated now, but there must be better value for money. The same goes for players like Fred.

If he stays it confirms our owners and board have given up, which I have suspected for a while. We are MUCH closer to championship level football than champions league, and I don’t think they have the heart to dump another £500 million+ on transfers to get us closer to competing with the elite clubs.

73000+ fans turned up again today, and they will continue to turn up wether we are competing for the title or fighting relagation.

We need to accept there's far more wrong with our club than just the manager. We lined up today with an interior midfield to bleedin' Villa. I don't know how many more times we need to repeat this cycle of sacking managers for the next shiny new one only to shit on them six months down the line. It's the definition of insanity.

An actual manager? Yes Jose had them playing shite but he alienated the entire team with his toxic shite.

Get Poch Get a DOF get a new squad and pray we get new owners along the way.

Keeping Ole cause he is an ex player isn't an option

As long as the Glazers and Woodward are here we're going to struggle hugely, I totally agree. They are killing the club.

I don't think any new manager is going to walk in and suddenly we'll be brilliant, of course not like I said the squad is shit. But there are without a shadow of a doubt better managers out there than Ole.

We're in relegation form since Ole got the job full time. 27% win rate as Utd manager is absolutely fecking bonkers.

If Pochettino is willing to come and join us now I'd be all over him.

By the way I'm expecting him to get the sack tomorrow morning at the latest. Anything else would be straight unprofessional.

Great strawman.

Course we are. Chelsea are good enough to beat West Ham, City are good enough to beat Norwich and Newcastle. Doesn't mean it happens does it? You can pretend we can just sack Ole and bring in A N Other manager and everything will be hunky dory, and that all of a sudden this shiny new manager will turn our dog shit squad into killas. That's up to you.
Chelsea and City don't get beat by all of the above. Don't think anyone would mind too much if we performing and playing like City heck even Chelsea. 4 wins this season is shocking though.

And you think we had the finances available to bring in two top quality midfielders, a top quality centre back, at least one top quality forward, a top quality right back and the likes of James in one window? Remind me who else has done that?

Giving him the job permanently was the only thing insane. Yes sacking managers constantly is questionable but with a guy at the helm that is as much out of depth as him there really is no other choice. I almost feel sorry for him. This job was way too big for him from the get go. We need to end this as soon as possible.

Fortunately for them, they aren't playing Andreas and Fred in midfield, or having to resort to using an unfit leftback as an impact sub, along with Lingard and an 18 year old. You think we would still be in 9th if Ole had their squads?

For another manager to come in and struggle and repeat the cycle. Unless we are willing to spend huge in January, we are in for a rough ride regardless.

He’s totally out of his depth. Yes, our problems run much deeper but keeping a manager clearly not up to the task isn’t going to help matters. He’s as good as gone to be honest, even if he somehow lasts the season.

You can't excuse results like today. A decent manager would win against these lot. Even with our squad. Ole can't. He is totally out of his depth. Smiling in pressers is not enough.

I can understand that but if you look from Herrera's point of view, you're one of the few players in the squad who could be its captain. Marcus Rashford just got a 250k a week contract and you're offered less than that. Yes I do understand Ole is not in charge of that, but I do not believe that he had no say. I don't believe that as soon as he comes in Fellaini is gone but he couldn't have stopped Herrera leaving.

It's worth pointing out he might have won us a lot more points defensively as he wasn't injured that often. But no means is he a world class midfielder but a McTominay Herrera midfield would have been infinitely better than what we have. Even if he did have to let him go, we should have replaced him. With Laird being so highly rated by Solskjaer himself, midfield was definitely a priority over a right back. We entered this season with Pereira, Fred, Pogba and McTominay as options in midfield excluding the number 10 position.

I'd be shocked if he gets sacked anytime soon. I just think Ole's legend status is going to make him survive.

For a club with the highest revenue in the world it should be possible with sale of Lukkaku and the freed up wages of Fellaini and Herrera. We could have least bought someone like Tielemans

Some people think that if we get our act together and improve the squad and entourage, that Ole will be challenging for the trophies and all that, which wont happen. At best, he will challenge for top 4, when he should be challenging for titles. Having a great squad and a good/great manager is a good situation, but an amateur or average manager at best will get you nowhere. We dont have time and money to get Ole 15 world class players to see if he can keep up with Pool and City, when we know that he likely will have troubles keeping up with Chelsea in that scenario. The manager should be someone that can actively help us going into that direction and closing the gap, not a puppet managing one of the best squads around, to be called good enough.

Chelsea were seen as a club in disarray and had a transfer ban. It looked like they had no striker at start of the season. Many were predicting that they would struggle and I'd say they exceeded everyone's expectations. I don't think they were in too dissimilar situation than us. Last season Jorginho was absolutely woeful and so was Kovacic too.

Of course, City, are reigning champions and have great squad.

I'm not saying that we don't need to improve our squad, we clearly do but we should not be seeing the results that we're seeing.

Why murmor? We can't just shout "We're United, We're United!" and expect we're exempt from the process of building a top team, a process every team has to go through. For decades we had the manager who kept us on top but sooner or later we had to go through that again. We didn't replace sir Alex well and it dragged on, but now is the time to let a manager have a comfortable working conditions and guaranteed 2 seasons from appointment in which he can do his job with no unrealistic expectations. Sorry to break it to you, but this is no sack watch, this is, relax and watch.
The thing is I kind of agree with you in the sense that we chose Ole and all logic tells me that we have to back him and the players to turn things around. Not because they can necessarily but because Woodward has committed ud to this path and we have no other hand to play. That was until Poch became available.

Another huge gamble.... do you appoint the man who was sacked and replaced by the guy you just sacked. Its all just madness. Its great theatre if we did. Maybe genius, maybe suicide. Saner is sticking to Ole but then again.... maybe not.

There were sporadic boos for the home side at the final whistle but in a period where Tottenham and Arsenal have both sacked their managers, United are behind both in the table, putting Solskjaer under scrutiny, even if the United hierarchy remain supportive of the Norwegian.
From Simon Stone's match report, looks like he's safe.

Why would you sack the manager right before a cluster of big games? He may well get the chop this side of Christmas but not the week leading up to Spurs, City, Everton etc.

What would be the point? What would it achieve?

Nothing, thats why he wont get sacked now. In a normal scenario, i dont see him sacked in the next two weeks at all. Similar to Jose last year, maybe mid to end december at the earliest if it really goes downhill fast

Ironically, repeatedly giving inept managers time way after there expiration date is the definition of insanity. Based on other successful clubs, there’s at least proof that sacking managers until finding the right one works out.

Even with their transfer ban, the depth and experience of their reserves and youngsters far outweighed our own. We are bringing in kids fresh out of the academy while Chelsea are supplementing their squad with young players with championship and even premier League experience.

We shouldn't. It happens though, and unless we see serious changes in the way we approach things it's going to happen again and again. I wouldn't be totally against bringing in a new manager but he's got to come into a club with a long term strategy in place, otherwise, we will be having this same conversation in six months time. It's happened far too many times for anyone to genuinely believe it's not going to happen again.

Both were well under pressure from the press though. Also Ed loves briefing the press for everything he does..
Is Ole not under pressure from the press? Here on ESPN, there aren’t many flattering articles about him and the club.
