Pretty much everywhere I've turned on social media, forums and social circles are fully against the Tories and Johnson.

How the hell are they getting a majority?

You're probably right. A Corbyn social agenda alongside commitment to leave EU would have been a much better package than BJ's. Also, would mean Labour Remain voters would probably have stayed Labour, as LibDem never gets into power.
Would they feck, I voted Labour but if they’d have been Leave they wouldn’t have had my vote in a million years.

That Blyth Valley is too close to call pretty much confirms the exit poll.

That's just another load of bollocks. The backlash under Ed was about the recession and Cameron promising a referendum.

This simplistic nonsense that it's personality and dialing down the policy is such a narrow view. I agree David would have been a very presentable leader but he still wouldn't have cut through the campaigns key lines from the Tories.

Please note, lewwoo is fishing for reactions with his troll posts. Please just ignore him and don't get banned for breaking rules by insulting him. It's very tempting I know.

70% Labour members back remain though. Tough position to be in really.

Sounds like Caroline Flint might lose her seat. At least one good thing would have come out of the night.

Only back New Labour because Blair did a deal with Murdoch over press freedom/accountability. Cameron did a similar deal over Leveson.
Well there you have it. It's impossible to beat this machine, the best you get is to compromise with it.

Boris is an unpopular leader, even within his own party. Things won’t end well. Starting when the general public realize that on the 31st on January Brexit isn’t done, it’s only just started.
A bit worrying that people would only just realise at that point

Because you only see what you want to see on social media, it’s manipulated.

I don't get this why do we have to compromise for a progressive, left wing and fairer society?
Basically, to appeal to the masses you need a Tory-lite party, apparently, at least according to posters here. This theoretical party should forget about leftist economic ideas and preferably should shut up about minorities or anything like that so they will be electable.

It's a little depressing. The Hungarian opposition gets the same advice all the time that comes down to 'be like Fidesz except not orange'.

Social media shows what you want to see. Also you are unlikely to be friends or follow people with opposing views, or to a great extent

Most of Labour's MPs and supporters are in favour of remain, they would have been fecked if they hadn't advocated a 2nd referendum as well. The issues they have is that Corbyn has never been popular, his approval ratings have been continually appalling, plus the fact that this country like a lot of other countries has moved way to the right.
I live in the North and saw what was happening on the ground. The Brexit delay has angered a lot of people and even people i personally know who have voted Labour all their lives voted for the Tories today.

Because the country is bigger than echo chambers that stifle discussion through dog-piling and soft censorship.

Ask them how proud of that vote they are next time they need to use a hospital.

As an Irishman, this has confused me beyond belief for so long.

It's actually staggering. I don't get how it's possible.

I almost exclusively see Labour or Anti Tory support online.

Feck sake, someone explain this to me please

Lets have Corbyn instead then. That sounds like a great idea.

This forum, and Twitter, has been one large echo-chamber of delusion, and complete contempt for democracy, the referendum result, and hatred of Tories--and that is a lousy strategy to win over voters. Spanked back into oblivion.
Complete contempt for democracy and stirring up hatred is very much a winning strategy, as we can see all over the world, including the UK.

If this exit poll is correct, then I hope every cnut that has been working against Corbyn whilst he's been leader all lose their seats.

Yeah exactly. @Labour4Life ran a poll on Twitter and 93% of the votes were for Labour. Was expecting 500 seats for Labour. In shock here.
