In the summer I never even bothered looking at his videos or anything, remember being mildly impressed when seeing him for Portugal - seemed too eager to shoot from anywhere though. If he's a non creative 10 then not exactly what is needed.

I'm setting my muppet camp in this thread anyway, surely an upgrade on JLingzy

A whole lot of smoke regarding this deal over the last 24 hours, hope it actually goes through.

We've literally had just Pogba as our only reliable playmakers since Mkhitaryan got sold and Mata was relegated to a squad player role.

He'd become our best no.10 upon signing, really hope it's not another case of the Portuguese media chatting shit to drum up interest in one of their stars...

Rio is going to get me killed with this! Better hope it happens, or I'm going to hunt him down!

Where the grass is greener.
Rio knows what our fanbase is like, surely he wouldn’t be doing all this if he didn’t know this was happening? Surely not worth the stick he’d get.

Wasn’t his passing not good enough in the summer?

Is Bruno an 8 or a 10??
Can play as an 8 in a three man midfield or a number 10. I've never seen him play in a pivot, but I would say he has the engine to do so.

I can't see Ole moving away from the 4231, so say if we were to sign Fernandes, then he'd probably play as a 10 behind Martial. Unfortunately, that could potentially mean no Maddison/Grealish, who i'm a big fan of. Of course we could always drop Fernandes into the 8 like Ole did with Pogba, and buy a 10 in the summer.

Well, creative midfield has been one of the hardest to recruit at United so hopefully Ole's charmed run in the market continues and this one works out.

Is he a #10 or #8? From the clips I’ve seen, he does both.
Goalscoring #10 that works hard from what I've read. Think I've only seen him once or twice and my memory is too bad to recall anything.

Lingard with end-product.

His eye for goal is one of his best attributes, I'd hate to see him get played deeper.

I don't want Bruno, if he had the option to pass in a player who is open or try to test goalkeepers, he'd go for a shot first, like Andreas.

Except there's a good chance he'd score it.

A little over a 100 followers but it seems like he is the agent because the player (Fernandes) follows him.

Looks like you're getting it done

You should've got someone like him in the summer. This feels to me like when you were linked with Ander Herrera, dispatched that hit squad to Bilbao but too late to sign him then just got him a season later. Similar with Maguire.

Decent player who can continue to grow and you're getting him for half the price as say a Ruben Neves. Need 4-5 more of those types though if you're to seriously challenge for league again in next few years.

Massively excited for this but the question would remain why the feck didn’t we get him in the summer!?!

It is done lads.

The question is why did we not do this in the summer? I’m happy we are getting him, but this just reeks of desperation/lack of planing.

Weird!

How does a 10 help us, other than potentially replacing Pogba in future? If all fit, we will line up with Fred/Scott, Pogba and Fernandes. Defensively, not sure that’s good enough. I mean, if Ole is insistent on this wretched 4231 then of course, anyone but Lingard - but Pogba should be replacing Lingard in the XI, with another midfielder being brought in behind him surely?
