I was reading an article about it and there’s actually some sense and merit in it. It should have been a subsidiary of the Air Force but there is a genuine reason to protect the satellite infrastructure as a preemptive strike in space could severely limit a nations nuclear capabilities.
Not just nuclear, but GPS and other things we take for granted. It is one of our greatest vulnerabilities.

Hence why it was only after he had started being debriefed on national security matters that he started spouting off about 'his' Space Force. It would've been near the top of the list.

Creating the new force or whatever you wanna call it is just Trump trying to look cool.
Indeed, it was all so he can say 'we created the first new military division since 1947 or whatever'. At the moment, there is no reason to be a separate branch from Air Force.

He's a living comedy spoof movie franchise. How long before Police Academy: Space Force?

He probably thinks this is like Starship Troopers, just like he thought Stealth planes were really invisible.

Doesn't look like an AF blue uniform though.
They don't wear blue in their day to day work. All the military services wear different variations of the same types of uniform. Air Force wear ABUs (Airman Battle Uniform) which are camouflage style uniforms for casual work situations. The Navy, Army, and Marines all have their versions of the same uniform as well - so it would stand to reason that Space Force (which is technically linked with the Air Force in the same way the Marines are linked with the Navy) would have its own as well.

Well what I've seen is the folks that are on alert to launch ICBMs wear blue, and I considered that to be their 'day to day's uniform. That is also the closest to a 'Space force' as of now.

Very small percentage of them wear blues all the time (and rarely if ever at field sites). Blues are usually reserved for the first Monday of every month on AF bases - the rest is ABUs or on flightlines - flight suits

Black would've the best camo for space. They missed the trick not taking this opportunity to rock all black uni's, maybe with a red/white stripe down the back.

AF is moving to OCPs with mandatory wear date of April 21. I've already got three sets. Much more comfortable than ABUs which always sucked.

This is what I don't get. Have a force that protects space, sure. But somewhere down the line the craft that patrol the air will be the same that patrol space. Then what happens? Does the pilot have to climb out of the cockpit and stick a new sticker on the side? They'll burn up, Pexy, they'll fecking burn up.

And why Space Force? Why not Frontiersmen? It's not inclusive but that's never stopped Trump and he could have really diverted attention away from his illegal activities.

"Fear and doubt is not a good thought process"

I think the best thing about Trump is he says things that a lot of supporters think, but know they can't say because they don't really make much sense.

Don't be scared about all of those fires, don't have any scepticism about what we're doing to tackle these huge problems, let's just be positive and things will all just work themselves out.

Just when you thought McGregor couldn't possibly be more obnoxious and detestable.... He's very much like Trump in that manner. Not an easy feet () to achieve.

Utter cnut of a man.

From the ongoing Trump press conference in Davos:
-How old is she ? (Greta Turnberg)
-17
- Oh, that's good.

Will the MAGA cult support this, even though many of them will be effected themselves?
Sure! It will be blamed on the immigrants as per usual. ”I’d like to spend more on social and health care, but the cost of defending this country against Mexicans, homosexuals and people who believe in global warning has gone up so there’ll be cuts.”

Oh classic Republicans: pass huge tax break when in power, blowing up the deficit. Maintain deficit not a concern.

When democrats gain power, say not 1c more on the deficit! The only solution is to trim the welfare state.

They're such nice people, really.

But they will get votes because people hate the evil libs. They hate socialism (yet dont understand it) they will vote against their own interests. They love the fact Republicans are pro life and pro 2nd amendment. And they love the USA acting the big one and being the world's bully. They also think only Republicans are God fearing and religious. And if anything goes wrong they will blame it on the previous Democrat Preaident but at the same time take credit for anything they did that worked.

Something has to change. In a way Trump has been a positive for at least exposing all the faults and corruption while at the same time showing the Republicans and their supporters don't give a shit nor will they accept their hypocrisy. The Dems have also been exposed as being weak and feckless and the entire system has been exposed to show how it is open to abuse and how with the Senate behind you, a President who has his party in his pocket can pretty much do whatever the feck he wants.

None of these feckers have a conscience, and most don't care because they are all getting rich.

The biggest hypocrisy in all of this is the facade they all hide behind of loving and doing everything for their country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Judging from his response, I dont think he even thought what it means. Typical Trump, if he has no clue on the subject matter, he will re-direct. He talks as though he is selling some TV show.

They will support it, because cognitive dissonance is basically a founding principle of working class conservatism.

Craig T. Nelson said:
I've been on food stamps and welfare. Anybody help me out? No. No. They gave me hope, and they gave me encouragement, and they gave me a vision. That came from my education.
