We were doing alright until the first goal went in, wasting plenty of good opportunities to get a lead, then they scored and it all fell apart. The moment Burnley took the lead, most of our team appeared to accept the loss and switched the minds to things they would be doing after the game.
- I thought AWB had a decent match.
- Fred gave it his all for most of the game, working hard for the team, and generally looking confident with the ball. He's one of the few signings we've made in recent times that looks to be coming good.
- Matic was solid enough and looked keen to get involved.
- Mata had a bit of a 'mare tonight. He's been good recently, but maybe this was one game too many without a rest?
- James was pretty awful (again). He needs a rest. I fear he's also been dragged down by all the mediocre performances around him. We don't have much depth, so we'll just have to draft in a another youngster to replace him for a week or two.
- Pereira continues to make poor decisions and is so wasteful. He looks neither consistent or reliable enough at this level, and we really need that better option signed up ASAP.
- Martial hardly got out of first gear. The opposite of what we need with Rashford out.
- Lingard very poor when he came on as usual, but I feel for him a bit. It's clear he knows what a lot of fans think of him now, and he's not able to deal with it at all. He gets slated, but he always tries - possibly too hard.
- Our big summer signing Maguire is now losing confidence too and he's far from the rock we need at the back.
