Remember everyone: If Bruno struggles here for a while don't throw him under the buss. It takes time to get used to the intensity in the Premier League.

Hope, We Lose
If we are signing him and for an initial £46/47 million before bonuses - IF thats the case... Finally something that looks like good business from us

If we were gonna do it anyway and he’s met them in the middle by the sounds of it should have done it Jan 1st for the sake of £5m, if we lose champions league by a few points still and he’s a success that £5m will look idiotic.
Yes I agree but it’s all relative really, we should have signed him in the summer really, that’s where the opportunity to get the best of him this season was lost.

The difference between weeks in January is also relative to a much lesser extent, my gripe is with posters focussing solely on only the negative side of EVERYTHING United related.

They must be a real laugh on the p*ss

Yeah, I won't be having major expectations of him straight away. I'd happily see him get 20mins against Wolves if he's okay to play, as a substitute. Can't expect him to come straight in and make a difference, but I'm quietly confident that will be the case within a few games.

Imagine if we had him for the Burnley game and we'd won instead of lost, we'd have been three points from top 4 and not six.

How much did we save by haggling, and how much do we lose if those potential points (seeing as he's not likely to play against Wolves on Saturday either and we might lose points there too) end up costing us CL football next season?
Imagine if we had him for the Burnley game and we lost anyway because the entire team was playing horribly. How much better off would we be for splashing out an additional 10/15m just so we could have the player a week or so earlier and for it to make no difference.

So, it's 2014hrs, right now.
Are you still confident that this will be done in the next hour or so?
It's done now. Personal terms already agreed weeks ago.

I love being right whilst the rest of the Caf crumbles like petulant children. Not only a done deal but done our way. Certainly a triumph whatever you think of Ed.

It's all PR. We only sign English players. We don't have any money.

That doesn't fit the caf agenda at all
This. It’s not negative.

If we signed him for twice the price on Jan 1st the same people would be mocking the board for spending to much and United being awful at transfers.

We haggle, yes that takes time, agree what seems a good deal, and that’s seen as being inept.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, usual black and white opinions here though pushing the negative.

We smashed them for the first 30 minutes. We could've easily had two-three goals by the time they got theirs, it was a textbook smash-and-grab from them.

Do you know that we saved 10-15m by haggling? And if we don't think he's a difference maker and are just assuming that he'd make no difference to the team, it begs the question as to why the feck we're buying him then?

There is no additional. We are paying what Sporting want.

Who's the young lad that went to Ateltico who is struggling?
My concern is it'll be a massive step up.

It seems a very good deal for United. The new strategy is working.
I don’t think it’s a new strategy, we always had the upper hand and they wanted to cash in on him. It was obvious that we needed to hold our nerve and wait the window out to get a favourable deal. The number of people in this thread demanding that we spend £65m+ just to get the deal done because we needed a midfielder was ridiculous.

I'm sure Fernandes and his people have forced Sporting to do this deal. I don't think Spoting wanted to let their best player go for that initial fee with add-ons like, "winning Balon D'or" or "Bruno scoring 6 goals every 30 minutes."
Wasn't there something last year, where they lost pretty much their whole squad, but he stayed to help them?
Pretty sure something like that happened, and then they should give him the respect and let him move to a bigger club and league.
And they also need money.

Whilst everybody should really be damn annoyed that this looks likely to be the only signing, and should in no way discourage people from that apparent walk out during the Wolves game, or the chants against Woodward and board (though i'm sure it will make some people back off no doubt) this is something at least, and in what looks like it could be a really good deal for us, when you take into consideration how he's been performing, hopefully he doesn't do what signings tend to do when they come to us, naturally turn to a shell of their former selves. But, as I said, it's something, so lets see what Solskjaer can do until the end of the season, he's obviously going to be getting that much minimum.

Not buying this until he's presented signing the contract. The way this has gone these journalists could report the complete opposite in the morning like tonight never happened.

I don’t know if I can take this anymore.
Stopped using snus 14 days ago as well, but if there’s more twists coming, I might start again.
This is so on!
I feel for you dude.

But, no more twist now, my cock is out.

Do you know we would have scored 3 goals if Bruno was playing?

Imagine United is interested in your player in the Summer and you know they'll pay an extra 20% just to have the player a few days earlier. Would you be offering us a fair deal? Or would you rinse them for every penny you could?

How so? 15m in easy bonuses was always what Sporting asked for. We could have finished this deal a few weeks ago at the same transfer fee, maybe even lower.
