The same people who put the likes of Blair, Bush or Trump in office are the same private investors who own clubs like United and companies like Apple. Without these people's financial, moral and material support (biased media houses) people like Bush wouldn't get into office and when they do they commit war crimes with people like MBS for the benefit of businesses owned by the Glazers and other billionaires.

The only difference between MBS and Western warmongers is that the latter do it whilst hiding behind crooked politicians whilst the Saudis lack the sophistication and the motivation to hide their true colors because they don't have to subject themselves to elections and are untouchable.
Our Government created the house of Saud too.

Will have to read up on that but what I know is that the Saudis enjoy the express protection of the Western governments, the same government elected through the backing of rich western investors like the ones who currently own our club.

The west are far more genocidal than the Arab states. You can have many reasons to not want a Saudi takeover but this one, whilst unpleasant, is just hypocrisy.
As far as I am aware no western government has shown any interest in buying man utd so your post is irrelevant.
Really? Its owned by a family up to their chins in Trumpness. Think again lad.
We are not owned by a western state/government nor have any western governments shown any interest in buying us. Which bit don’t you understand? Think again boy.

Delusional mate. It will never happen. We have a valuation of 4bn. We are out of reach of fan ownership by miles. Bad people is all we have left. Unless Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos fancies buying the club who else is there?
I wasn't suggesting a % fan ownership is a viable option at all for United. Unless the governing bodies enforced it across the leagues - but they the benefit handsomely from the current state of football.

My point is that fans should aim for something ideal however out-of-reach it seems to them - rather than switch one shite owner for an even worse owner.

Fan ownership can only happen now by starting from scratch like FC United, who I donate to annually and go a couple of times a season, but 99.9% of United fans would rather moan about Glazer or back a fecking Dictator than go through the tough years of starting something meaningful and fan driven.

Our national hero Winston Churchill slaughtered many including the Irish and Indians. He also said he hated Indians and they were a beastly people with a beastly religion. We honour such a evil cnut by printing his mug on our money without questioning our morals.

There's a good few books written on how we 'The British' created the House Of Saud.

Great. Now show me a link to speculation on "western warmongers" taking over United.

It's not about Winston Churchill buying a Football Club. It's actually about people feeling their moral compass will be put out of place by a Saudi Takeover but will then turn a blind eye to what we have done in creating and supporting them. If we accept Churchill who starved millions of people to death as a national hero then why the moral outrage over MBS owning a football club?

Indeed. Just as many don't support 19th century British imperialism, or the war in Iraq. Not that any of this is even the tiniest bit relevant to the topic of this thread, though, of course.

How many people have a problem with buying Oil/ Petrol/ fuel, that has been gained from years of horrific warfare in middle eastern countries? There is plenty of viable services out there where you would not be supporting the acquisition and logistics of companies profiting from said bloodshed. Electrical public service is a start? Or does this not fit towards peoples agendas or obsecure moral compass?

Its easy to criticise the fans who arn't against this take over, but less so to criticise a nation living day to day lives built on the blood shed of other nations. Cant have it one way and not another, western civilisation is smart in covering up their heinous crimes and the public just buy into it.

Am I right in saying there have been absolutely no links to the Saudis buying United in recent weeks/months? All gone quiet bar the Newcastle takeover rumours.

Can someone tag me when this discussion becomes about ancient Greek philosophers? I feel like I have a lot to offer to that subject.

I haven't waded into this debate but I will say this:
It is one thing being owned and leveraged by a heartless concoction of businessman and shareholders; it's another to be owned by one of the worst authoritarian regimes in the entire world.

If you regard this point as merely splitting hairs, then it says more about you.

MUST, Sir Alex and the rest really dropped the ball. 13-15 years was more than enough to build up a block-shareholding for and by the fans. Let this be a lesson. We need more fan-owned majority clubs.

I do say probability wise, it's high that David Beckham's ultimate dream is to one day buy or majority own Manchester United.
There’s a bigger chance of Kylie Fecking Jenner buying us

Britain has an evil colonial past, acknowledging that doesn't change the view on the saudi government.

Anything tangible here or just posters arguing about nothing like usual?
Fairly sure there have tweets from a respected middle eastern based reporter claiming the idea of buying Newcastle is unwelcome when they have the money to buy United. Or something along them lines.

EDIT. See Adnans post 848, page 22.

Sounds more like a wealthy middle eastern man flaunting his money than meaning much.

The view on the Saudi government doesn't have to change. We just need to remember that our government is also complicit in their crimes and we need to be even more morally apalled for that reason and not just due to our football team.

No debate about that point at all.
The English voted in huge numbers for a party that is happy to sell arms to Saudi to slaughter civilians in the middle east.

I'm sure our Tory supporters were absolutely fine with us selling arms to Saudi to slaughter human beings in Yemen but are morally repulsed at the thought of being owned by the Saudis.

This doesn't apply to everyone and I fully respect anyone who makes a stand against such criminals.

I am very much in agreement a majority of what you have said in this thread and you speak alot of sense. But bringing political differences into this will only take things down a worse ladder? Again very much in agreement with you regardless.

You're right mate, I try not to get dragged into these types of discussions normally due to them turning farcical but will head back to the transfer forum now where a muppet like me belongs. :D

Hear that! Would take the heartache of a transfer forum over the headache of these forums any day.

I really don't see how that analogy holds up.

A more appropriate one is that it would be like finding out a family member was a psychopath, who had killed someone in cold blood. You'd probably cut off all ties in that scenario.
Do you think only psychopaths kill people in cold blood?
Plus whom did they kill? Ordering an assignation isn't the same, heads of state do that kind of thing quite a bit.

TBH I dont think the Saudi's buying a football club will make the world a better or worse place. There is probably going to be even more open discussions about the ethics of the Saudi Regime than there already is.
Fully agree with this...

As much as I dislike the Saudi's, as long as the Glazers are in charge the club will never go anywhere.
I dont know who has 4B to invest in buying United at the moment so we'll be stuck in mediocrity for a while it looks like.
