Great post. Hope you sort out whatever it is you need to in your personal life. Definitely better to exert your effort on the more important things.
I totally get the feeling you describe of feeling indifferent to the club I support.
Since our decline the desperation to get back to the top has been painful to watch in many United fans.
The petty back and forth and impatience has been harder to bare than the losses on the pitch imo.
Fans turning on club legends who only want the best for us, arguing about every player, sell Pogba, keep Pogba, Martial is shite... or he isn’t, my own longing for a Saudi takeover, anything to compete again.
THEN throw VAR into the mix.
Safe to say I’m more uninterested than ever before.
My personal life isn't going through anything particularly drastic, I just recently moved in to my first home and my interests are moving into other areas now. I'd much rather watch a TV show I'm yet to see, or watch an old movie, or read a book, that sort of thing. Watching football, discussing football, it's all pretty tiring. I only really come on Redcafe because it's a good place to discuss TV and entertainment.
I've been feeling fatigued towards football in general for a while now. I've had some excellent times with City over the years but the only reason I still have a season ticket is because I forgot to cancel it last year. The last home game I went to last season was the 6-0 win over Chelsea - after that I just stopped going. I thought I'd get the bug back once this new season started but I've not been since we beat Watford 8-0.
I'm generally in favour of VAR but it's symptomatic of one of the bigger problems in the game right now, which is that we take the game far too seriously and can't accept that sometimes things go wrong. Racist incidents at Premier League grounds are on the rise in a big way, the way we talk to each other on social media about the teams we support is incredibly aggressive and confrontational, and the game is driven so much by profit that we have to over-analyse every margin.
I don't know if I have the energy or the inclination anymore to keep up anymore.
