Even if we were to give Trump the highly unlikely benefit of the doubt, the World’s most important leader being sarcastic during a briefing of what is the World’s biggest crisis since WWII is bad enough as it is.

While that's true I don't think he deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one. We know he wasn't being sarcastic. We know he wasn't talking to the reporters or asking them anything as he wasn't even looking at them. He was thinking out loud about the things he had learned 5min before and doing so he showed the entire world (for the 382374th time) what stupid looks like with a bad spray tan on half its face.

Not even his proudest cult members thought to use sarcasm as a defence. It would be interesting to know if the sarcasm excuse was Trump's idea or if it was discussed beforehand with his advisors, either way it shows how little he thinks of everyone else since he actually believes that people will buy it, or that he just doesn't give a feck if no one does.

Even though he has a cult following I still can't quite get my hear round people actually ingesting bleach because of his nutty musings. Just how thick are the thickest cnuts who support him?

Deal with it. He will get 2nd term.

Biden is as crooked as him, I'm started to think Trump cut him some profits and ask him to become a sparring partner. Even after injection gate biden are still sitting quietly. This is a man who doesn't take this fight seriously
Anyone who actually knows Trump's history then does a critical analysis against Biden's and still has this opinion has personal ethical issues. When people like you actually try to compare someone like Obama and Trump in terms of their values then says..."Obama was a crook", it begs into question your ability to think and make decisions without being overly influenced by either political or ethical bias. If you think Trump is a better fit for America or the world than Joe Biden then proceed to inject yourself with as much Trump disinfectant as you can.

That's the kind of people he needs to keep energized going into November. Remember whatever he says, they actually don't care as long as he's getting one over the "Libs" and the "Lame Stream Media". It's not about truth with them and he knows this.

He'll say he's doing stand-up comedy next and everyone should have realised.

I know the extremist MAGA merch wearing, gun slinging redneck will vote for Trump no matter what but surely the less radical normal folk are rethinking their vote?
Can any American who knows Trump voters personally shed some light on this?

Just sharing because I know it’d piss him off if it goes viral enough to get around to him: Donald with natural skin color and hair...

Another outright blatant lie.

Toys firmly out of pram. What a fecking crybaby. He can't handle this situation and it's exposing him so he strops off like a petulant 3 year old.

The rest of the world have informative daily briefings and q&a sessions. Trump can't even do that. fecking pathetic. The people of the USA need far better leadership at a time like this. He didn't even mention the lost lives or their families and give condolences once in all the briefings he did.

I don't think its certain he'll get a second term. I certainly hope not. Obviously Biden is better than Trump, as were Obama and Hillary. The fact that you use such a sarcastic response is interesting. There are people out there who suffer endlessly because the American public go from cycle to cycle electing a representative who doesn't give a shit about them. To those people life under Trump probably isn't that different to life under most of the previous Democrat presidents. It's important to get rid of Trump, for America, because he is giving a free run to GOP corruption but mostly because America's status globally is quickly disintegrating. However if by electing Biden everyone thinks that everything becomes fine then you enter the exact same problem post Obama. To be honest the only real way for America to stop this repeating pattern is mass demonstration demanding a change to how politics is ran in their country. However I don't see that as a possibility. The idea that Trump and the GOP is the problem is funnily enough actually the problem. The problem is the system that has allowed this stuff to fester. Whether you like it or not the Democrats are a problem too because for some reason whenever they've got into power they have never pushed for the systematic changes that are so blatantly needed. The democrats don't need to 'stop the GOP' they need to alter the system so that corruption on both sides isn't allowed to happen. Step one: stop letting money rule your politics. Whenever a politician comes along that even hints they want to do that they get attacked from both party's propaganda wings.

The fact is that a democracy means 'for the people'. If you keep needing to rely on a certain subset of people to help elect your 'choice' then maybe it's time that you start listening to their needs. This doesn't mean that you need to elect Bernie, it simply means that you can't expect to have his followers help get rid of Trump and then ignore them until you cry foul at the next election they fail to turn up to.

A lot I work with are Trump fans and all of them are University educated and millionaires.
It’s mostly about the money for them and their distrust of Dems. They don’t like the idea of other people getting free stuff off their back of their efforts.
They’re not in favour of free healthcare but don’t seem to mind corporate welfare.
They’re good at their jobs but surprisingly ignorant of world affairs.
One asked me how old is the Catholic Church.
Another really believes Obama is a Muslim.

I can’t put them all in the same box but sometimes you’d have to wonder where they get their ideas. Fox News maybe?

Our standards have really dropped around the world it seems. We're capable of excusing a lot of crap that only ten years ago would've caused mass uproar.

It's all just a part of the system. In a rather genius way the powerful have started to learn from their mistakes and are perfecting the way to achieve their goals (the main one is retain power). Not surprising since a lot of historical dynasties fell to rebellion. I think the Romanov reign in Russia lasted for over 300 years for instance.

This is something that people still do not get it. Americans don't want to get better, they don't see what's wrong with American First thuggery and feck the rest of the world attitude.

M4A, while it's novel at face value, half (or more) of Americans don't want that, even half of democrats don't want that. Obviously M4A is Sander's, but it goes the same with every big policy. Guns? They don't care about people dying, they want their guns. A presidential candidate who champions guns abolitionism and M4A will not win, because that's not what american wanted.

You and us here are debating based on the assumption that Americans are fair, kind, and just minded collective bunch. They are not. As trump have shown us. Half of them are still racist, the other half are too rich and thinks that M4A are a burden, if poor people dies so be it, it's their fault. Half of america agrees and celebrate Trump thuggery, they think his constant bullying as a sign of MAGA and machismo and boy they're so glad that finally someone actually represents them as a country.

Trump will die eventually, or goes to prison, but there will be other trump. Unless the trump voters are gone then there will always be another trump. Better deal with it. This is the Americans we'll have to get used to for the foreseeable future.

People like that support Trump because what he does doesn't really affect them. It's other people who get fecked over, people they don't really give a shit about.

What this shows more than anything is that politics in America has become team sports. These ratings are basically "Do you support Democrats or Republicans?"

Look at the disparity between how registered Dems and registered Reps responded, especially in section B2. It's pretty much exactly opposite across the board. Mental. Common sense doesn't matter any more. It's just about supporting the team they've picked to the very end, even if it ruins the entire country. The frightening thing is how fervently people are sticking with their team, considering one side is led by a guy who's about two seconds away from eating glue and soiling himself. They need to get rid of first past the post as soon as possible. Hopefully that will be the end of the two party system that is killing this country at the moment.

You don't have to look that far, just look at NY and Cuomo's daily briefings.

Yeah, I meant by the actual leader of the country and briefings that are aimed at the entire country. That's Trump's responsibility and like everything else, he's failing badly and letting his countrymen and women down.

Just how is this guy the president of the USA? I get that all countries constantly vote people/parties in that they really shouldn't and they do some awful stuff, but I have no idea how he was voted in, it's absolutely bizarre.

Interesting comments about wealth/business and welfare. Hear the same thing in UK.

So are Democrats similar to UK Labour then? (and presumably, Republicans akin to UK Conservatives). Broadly.

He won't let little things like facts and video evidence change his mind.

"No, didn't happen. Fake news"

Amazing that when he does/says something wrong, he doubles down instead of admitting it or at least, not commenting further and letting it die down naturally. Guys unique

Genuine question for those who may know, why are US presidents even revered and put on a pedestal anyway when they are only democratically elected officials. When did all this sucking up and paranoia begin? Was it after JFK?

You look at other world leaders (apart from the dictators, of course) and they don't even come close to the amount of attention he gets. There's no way on earth that Johnson, or any PM for that matter would have got away with even 1/50th of what Trump has, even from members of the same party. Why are US presidents so irreprehensible?

Americans are deeply patriotic, I suppose. A city upon a hill and all that.
