Im guessing all the people bashing sancho in this thread are bashing our own players when they flew to their home countrys?

Hes young and needs a firm hand to guide him and ogs is perfect for that. We have plenty of good characters in our coaching staff to help him out. Since Dortmund has haaland as their new superstar in the making i just hope Woody gets this done quickly.

It is hilarious what passes for a controversy in Europe. I can't tell if Europeans just think differently to Americans or if four years of Trump presidency has made Americans numb to everything but the most shocking events.

This will be a non story in the US if it was a basketball / NFL player doing it. Will probably get a pat on the back from the establishment let alone being fined.

Lots of red flags with this guy. I'm getting worried.

He also seems like a guy that will stop trying as hard once he gets paid.

Thoughts on this?

Personally, I don't see how they can sell one of Salah, Firmino or Mane at a good price, and be in a position to offer the sort of wages Sancho would be wanting.

Salah has only been trending downwards in terms of performances since his first season, with the top tier clubs not really playing in a way that suits him, and Mane/Firmino, while very good, are only good up to a certain point and any buying club would have to be wary of how well they would adapt to a system other than Klopp's.

And before the Liverpool fans jump on my throat like they did on Twitter when I raised this exact point, I'm not saying that they're shit. They've been fantastic for Liverpool. I just don't think that they would be as good in a system other than Klopp's.

Delaney chats shit. All of his stories are rehashed stories that better journos have written about days before. Its uncanny.
Anyway, the Liverpool mouthpieces have said they wont be signing anybody this year, its nonsense.

Not a hope they sign him this summer anyhow. The Athletic had a piece on Werner and said Liverpool baulked at the few. Same piece also went on to say that Liverpool’s recruitment team see Werner as a better potential signing than Sancho or Havertz. No way they are going to spend double what Werner cost on a player they see as inferior.

It was a move for next year, rather than this summer.

Would we have any players left if we sold them for getting haircuts or having a personality?
Sancho is in "trouble", because he not only broke anti pandemic regulations, but also responded to the resulting fine by calling DFL a joke and liking this tweet:

If he gets dropped today it will be the 5th or 6th time he gets dropped from the team for disciplinary reasons.

I get that people are excited about signing such a talented player, but I don't understand how that makes so many so blind about his behavior, especially considering financial dimensions of such a deal.
I'm not telling anyone to write him off, but at this point he has built up a moderate track record and whoever signs him in the end has to hope he better grows out of it.

For all those making up that he’s dropped for today, he is starting.

People are so fecking quick to write this guy off.when I think of the stuff I was doing at his age, this lad is a saint.

Got a fecking haircut...in his own house. Publicly protested the outrageous murder of an unarmed man. What a horrible person!

I'm worried we dont sign him because he decides to stay in Germany. But I would have him in a heartbeat.

And it won`t work. They tried that with Werner who was apparently "desperate" to join them but the team that paid the money got him. If they don`t pay the money and someone else does Sancho will go there simply put.

Massively overstated, which is why he's starting today.

Can't believe a 20 year old is immature and not quite a fully fledged adult. Never seen anything so dreadful. Hope we not only stay away from him, but never sign anyone young again. Just not worth the risk.

I’m aware. His picture didn’t reflect him following the guidelines, and now he’s been fined. Your whole ‘the rules clearly don’t apply to him’ thing is doing too much though. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that it still remains just a haircut, in his own home, for perspective sake.
This pandemic spread throughout the world because people are "just doing this and that".

If Jadon Sancho gets infected with Covid-19 he's going to be contageous before he develops any symptoms or possibly even tests positive for the infection.

it's a BLANKET RULE that you do not introduce outside people into your space just so we can actually controlt he spread.

I fkn HATE that people are so massively callous about the seriousness of containing the spread. If Sancho wanted a haircut he would have just shaved his head or done it himself, it's only hair.

The bundesliga did not fine him for the George Floyd protest. There were other protests for George Floyd in the Bundesliga and the league are not punishing them. Breaching protocol for vanity however, is just so massively stupid.

Lets get a few things straight. I am not defending Sancho because we're being linked with him, I'm defending him because he got a haircut in his own home, then posed for a photo without a facemask.

It is not the 5th or 6th time he's been dropped for disciplinary reasons.

He has been dropped before now because he questioned a manager who brought him off after 36 minutes of a heavy Bayern defeat and chose to scapegoat him by saying "we lost because Sancho wasn't good enough".

I hate to be that guy but every time there's a young successful, talented black English footballer, there's a bunch of people who can't wait to question his attitude. No one questioning his attitude has actually bothered to remember their actions when they were 19. All things considered, for a young lad he's hardly done anything wrong and some of you are asking way too much of someone who had the maturity to move abroad at a very young age and leave his friends and family behind to pursue a career.

Stop bringing his attitude into question. People can make mistakes and will make mistakes often, it doesn't mean we have to label them or write them off as human beings.

I think some people got upset when he started acting like he was one of the best players in the league. Even though, in his best form, he really was one of the best players in the league. So what he's got a little bit of arrogance in him.... that's perfect for our #7

Maybe he's just thinking what's the issue with me getting a haircut if we're allowed to play football to satisfy big business .

I'd probably do exactly the same. The figures are very low in Germany I don't see the issue
The issue is not that he got a haircut. I got one as well today. The issue is that customer and barber have to wear a face mask. Which in this case neither Sancho nor his barber did.

Aye, everyone would have felt much safer in the world if he’d inly had a mask on in his pic.

The sentiment of caring about COVID is fine, however, this is a nothingness. I’m almost certain that pretty much everyone, including yourself, have not been wearing a fecking mask indoors during any visitation with friends and family for 3 months.

We'll likely need Champions League football and £100m+ to be in with a chance. It's going to be a tricky deal to pull off.

He also might prefer to wait a year and see what the lay of the land is likely to be in the post-Covid world.

Liverpool can't afford the £50m for Werner but they can afford the £100m for Sancho, yeah alright, tell us another one Delany...
Just playing devils advocate but couldnt it be they can't afford both and are prioritising.

Yea, I’ve seen loads of regular folk with fresh trims on IG and similar. They didn’t receive loads of ‘what a disgrace’ comments either. Probably because they don’t play football, so people don’t have to feign outrage.
I wish I had one right now. Been months.

Good post, pretty timely too because Darrent Bent and Reo-Coker were just talking about exactly this earlier on Sky

So you think they thought they could have landed both?

Noise coming out of Liverpool is that £50m - £60m is too much for them and they can't afford it, especially considering they want to giver bumper deals to VVD and Alisson.

Good post, this. People equally couldn’t wait to jump on his back about how he came back to training overweight — despite the fact that he was actually injured at the time too.

Nope I didn't say that. Maybe they have got wind of Sancho being available and have taken the option to let Werner go elsewhere. Not being prepared to pay 50m doesn't mean they don't have 50m does it? Might mean they have other targets.

And whilst we are on the subject I don't think it's Sancho they might be going for. O. Dembele seems more likely going off the press.
