Would much rather VDB was replaced with a more defensive minded midfielder personally.Sancho , Bellingham and VdB would be an amazing window
If those three come in, it can only mean that Pogba is leaving with the net profit from replacing him with VdB (reportedly available for approx £40m), being used to assist in funding the Sancho deal. We can't afford that kind of splurge otherwise, unless we are willing to borrow money and increase the club's indebtedness.Would much rather VDB was replaced with a more defensive minded midfielder personally.
I agree. I would've preferred we signed someone like Denis Zakaria.Would much rather VDB was replaced with a more defensive minded midfielder personally.
I would like someone like Partey myself for complete balance , but do you not think Fred or McT or Matic could cover the Defensive side of our Midfield or Even Pogba who did it for France? ( albeit with Kante next to him )Would much rather VDB was replaced with a more defensive minded midfielder personally.
Agreed, I'm quite happy with our 2 out of 3 midfield spots now, assuming Pogba's sticking around which I think he is. For the final piece I'd very much like a defensive-minded 6, McTominay and Fred serving as rotation options really keeps our midfield depth healthy. We were getting links to Zakaria but sadly they seem to have cooled lately.Would much rather VDB was replaced with a more defensive minded midfielder personally.
We’ve taken out 140 mill in credit as well as having 90 million in reserves. So it’s possible for us to spend around 140 mill for both Sancho and VdBIf those three come in, it can only mean that Pogba is leaving with the net profit from replacing him with VdB (reportedly available for approx £40m), being used to assist in funding the Sancho deal. We can't afford that kind of splurge otherwise, unless we are willing to borrow money and increase the club's indebtedness.
If we kept Pogba as well, then I think we will have a squad well capable of challenging for the title if we did indeed sign those 3.
Ogden saying he thinks United will get Sancho and possibly Bellingham and VdB.
He also says that next season we could see a genuine 4 way battle for the league with Chelsea and United looking set to take advantage due to the current crisis and City's problems with CAS.
Yes, as I said above, we can only realistically afford those three deals if we borrow money to do it, or make a big sale. We’ve taken out 140 mill in credit as well as having 90 million in reserves. So it’s possible for us to spend around 140 mill for both Sancho and VdB
We’ve borrowed the money. It’s publicised that we took out a line of credit.Yes, as I said above, we can only realistically afford those three deals if we borrow money to do it, or make a big sale.
Yea, I think that would be the most likely scenario. Although I don’t see VDB as being a good enough player to be a regular for us.If those three come in, it can only mean that Pogba is leaving with the net profit from replacing him with VdB (reportedly available for approx £40m), being used to assist in funding the Sancho deal. We can't afford that kind of splurge otherwise, unless we are willing to borrow money and increase the club's indebtedness.
I suspect Garner will be loaned next season, as he should be. Levitt too. I do think VDB would make great cover for Pogba and Fernandes, just not that hifh on the priority scale. Bellingham is a must for me, he looks special, and a natural long-term Pogba replaceI agree. I would've preferred we signed someone like Denis Zakaria.
But I'm gonna try and second guess Ole's intentions if we do end up signing VdB. I think he'll potentially give more game time to Jimmy Garner in a deeper role.
And if we do end up signing both Bellingham and VdB then our midfield will look very strong.
Pogba, Fernandes, VdB and then we have two of the best 17 year old mids in Europe in Mejbri and Bellingham if we sign him. Garner and Levitt could also be given more time due to having a much stronger/stable midfield.
I think they could make a decent fist of it, but the only real specialist defensive midfielder is Matic, who is physically declining and often injured. And I think a specialist defensive midfielder, particularly a high energy one, is needed if the other two are Pogba and Bruno. Pogba I think, contrary to popular opinion, can indeed operate in this capacity alongside one of them - the question for me is would you want him to? I’ve always felt he’s been played deeper simply because managers have wanted his ball abilities deeper as there has been nobody else they trust collecting it from the defence and starting things off. Ideally, even the Pogba you speak of who played for France in the World Cup is not the optimum version of him I don’t think. You want him to pick the ball up in areas where his next pass can hurt teams, or you want him beating one or two players to open things up. Asking him to sit back can work, but you could just as easily get half the player to do that.I would like someone like Partey myself for complete balance , but do you not think Fred or McT or Matic could cover the Defensive side of our Midfield or Even Pogba who did it for France? Zakaria hasn’t played since February I think after picking up a serious injury, so that is probably why there have been few links. I agree that he’d have been a good option, at probably an affordable price too. For a good price I’d even take Declan Rice. I lnow his Redcafe stock is quite low at the moment, but I think he’s the type of ‘limited player’ we could use to balance Bruno and Pogba. He’s an expert in patrolling the defensive area of the midfield, and not much else. That’s what we need.Agreed, I'm quite happy with our 2 out of 3 midfield spots now, assuming Pogba's sticking around which I think he is. It's almost the perfect scenario given the circumstances and that's with or without Pogba. I'd imagine however that Bellingham will be loaned out.Sancho , Bellingham and VdB would be an amazing window
You forgot 48 hours FC.Gotta love transfer season... where we turn into Front Runners FC, Leading the Chase FC and my personal favourite Preparing a Bid FC.
Don’t forget Monitoring the situation FC.I really don’t know why I invest so much time into these rumours. Each day it’s “Utd are preparing a bid” or “We are winning the race”.
We did. But that doesn't mean we're necessarily going to spend it!We’ve borrowed the money. It’s publicised that we took out a line of credit.
Agreed bro.Still think its pretty obvious we'll get him personally. It's just not happening till at least after the German season is over which should surprise no one. People are so inpatient. This is the biggest deal of the summer in world football most likely.
Just breaking this down because he's literally said nothing of substance in this video.
Ogden saying he thinks United will get Sancho and possibly Bellingham and VdB.

He wrote a article too which I posted.Just breaking this down because he's literally said nothing of substance in this video.
Bellingham : He just reckons with United it boils down to how much they'll pay for him, if they are willing to pay a bigger fee and Dortmund/Arsenal don't then United can get it over the line. Hypotheticals
VdB: Only dropped his name in passing when dismissing James - he said something like "United have Bruno, Pogba, they're looking at VdB at Ajax and they have Mata on top". Immaterial statement to be honest.
Sancho: Don't even him mentioning Sancho much, and it's probably a bunch of hypotheticals or immaterials like above.
I know Ogden is reliable when it comes to united updates but how much do you trust these recent claims of his?

If they get the lot for say £160 million, its not like it is their biggest transfer window to date as far as I know.I know Ogden is reliable when it comes to united updates but how much do you trust these recent claims of his?
Don’t you think it’s a bit tough to end up signing Sancho, Bellingham & VdB in the same window?
Ogden hasn't been reliable for United news since the Moyesian timesI know Ogden is reliable when it comes to united updates but how much do you trust these recent claims of his?
Ogden couldn’t reliably tell us how many balls his scrotum contains. Feckin fraud with the rest of them.Ogden hasn't been reliable for United news since the Moyesian times
Chelsea haven't spent any money for 2 years because of the ban. They also got 100m for Hazard in that time frame and another 45m for Morata. If they get the lot for say £160 million, its not like it is their biggest transfer window to date as far as I know.
And it they are truly sincere about getting United back to where they belong it is really just what they need to do.
Just look at how Chelsea is spending, and they are even above us in the table. Cant afford to be left behind. Especially when it seems like City and L’pool isnt splashing much cash this summer.
That beeing said I’d think most of us would be more than happy if they got just Sancho. The other two are just icing on the cake.
Pretty Much, I think we should perhaps sign a lesser name player like VDB and test Dortmunds resolve.Seems like the current status on Sancho is that they have a price and we must meet up. Pretty much what happens with most big player signings. We're doing the usual thing where we offer less. Difference is nobody is sure if this is just the usual offer less but pay the quoted price in the end or offer less because that's what we can afford due to the current situation
Ahh yeah, thats a good point.Chelsea haven't spent any money for 2 years because of the ban. They also got 100m for Hazard in that time frame and another 45m for Morata.
You can't compare their spending to ours this summer mate. They will be the biggest movers for the reasons listed above. You got to remember we have bought Maguire, AWB, James n Bruno whilst they have bought nobody.
I dont know why they would panic unless they think we are the only suitors for Sancho even if he stays one more year. But when I think about it this might be Dortmunds best chance to get him for a good price. If they don't sell Sancho now then by the next season he would have 6 months left on his contract. No team would want to spend big amounts on a player with 6 months left. So this window may be their best chance.Pretty Much, I think we should perhaps sign a lesser name player like VDB and test Dortmunds resolve.
If they think we are starting to spend our budget elsewhere they may panic and agree to a deal that suits us.
That said we should NOT risk losing out on this signing. It's one that will give us a boost in so many ways, aside from the fact that our right wing has been abandoned for years and crying out for a player like him.
Even if we stagger the payments out (like most transfers) let's just get to a happy medium on the figure and get it done.
