Pogba was getting into the game after a poor start and should have stayed.
Yep. I’m not sure Fred even passed the ball. Just running around being generally off the pace and trying to foul Southampton players and failing.

Oles done well since lockdown...
But he's been the second coming of David Moyes in this game.

Takes off our ability to play the ball up the field in Bruno and Pogba to get 11 men behind the ball. Cost us the game through negativity. Which certainly isn't the "United way" bollocks he spits.

The first time in months that we have something to play for and we bottle it. Absolute joke.

Southampton deserved it. We are absolutely knackered and it seems to have effected Bruno and Pogba the most, they were completely out of sorts.

Fair result and not the worst news story.

This will go to the last game.

Godspeed.

Pathetic second half performance, we only have ourselves to blame. This was a sobering match, both in terms of our quality against a pressing side and in terms of our top four chances. It's a massive blow and I fear we're going to regret it at the end of the season.

Pogba, Greenwood and Bruno decided to have off days. Credit to Southampton they never let United settle and play their game. The goal coming was so obvious.

Didn't even notice McTominay coming on, did absolutely nothing, AWB was trash. Basically played with 8 players the last 10 minutes.

Fecking Southampton like to feck us over, even when they have nothing to play for. Good for nothing, mid table hogging, Matt le Twat loving, game raising fouling scum.

Was watching the game preview from a Southhampton fan. He mentioned, on their day, their tactics with 5 player press is to suffocate the midfield both to get passes from the defence and then passes to the forwards and make the opposition look bad. Without any pressure on them for results today, they did exactly that to perfection.

Even with that we should have finished the game off with the amount of chances we had.

Thought Martial and Lindelof were superb. We were unfortunate with the two injuries to our left backs and Saints were haunted to finish the game with 11 players on the field.

Crux of the matter is that we just don't have the quality depth you need to keep winning these games. Our first team is class but we're running lads into the ground because there is simply not enough quality to bring off the bench, especially in attack and out wide.

Wan-Bissaka, Pogba, Bruno, Maguire and Greenwood looked knackered out there and how can you blame them?

Not a night for harsh words or criticism. Just a reality check as to where we are and what needs to improve for next year.

We were properly robbed tonight! Southampton should have been down to 10 in the first half, the stupid subs rule meant we had to finish with 10, and they spent the whole game kicking lumps out of us without any repercussion!

Why the feck did we not use our fifth sub??
Couldn't. You can only make subs at 3 different intervals, probably should have put on Ighalo when we put James and McT on but I don't think it would have made any difference.

Shame the ref didn’t give that red.
Shame we had two left backs getting injured down to ten men.

keep on going lads. Great form at the moment.
It'd be a little rich of us to blame VAR - its been so favourable to us. Showed them far too much respect.

Worst performance so far since the restart. Everyone besides Martial we’re very poor. Saints played very well & probably deserved the draw. Sucker punch for us though we were desperately hanging on. This is going to the wire & the players need to wake up if they want Champions league football.

18th match unbeaten. At least a point - it may help in the end of the day: but we had to convert our chances better

Dreadful performance, Southampton battered us for most of the match, we had the odd chance where we broke their press and scored twice.

Stank of fear from minute one.

Got what we deserved. Didn't play well at all. Southampton seemed to want it more, which makes no sense at all. Hopefully we can pick it up again. Palace should be easier. Need to rotate for that game and keep the main guys fresh for Chelsea in the Cup. Gut wrenching, this result. 3rd place in our laps and we drop the ball?!

They’re the best team we’ve played since the restart. Hope that late goal doesn’t knock the confidence too much. Keep going and we’ll get 4th.

So fecking frustrating though. But so fecking typical

In the 90+6th minute of such an important game, I'd assume our skipper, who happens to be the most expensive central defender in the world, and our top-level goalkeeper should be killing everyone on their way to get to that ball first. I just don't understand why DDG didn't put the effort all those years to learn when to come out for a God damned cross. I am not blaming him, Lindelof didn't do particularly well, too, but you know the likes of Alisson, Ederson, etc. would go up with a flying knee and will do everything to secure the ball in their hands. Hell, draw a fecking foul ffs

Gutted. Sensed it was coming as Ole did a Mourinho trying to hold onto the 2-1. And the substitutions didnt make sense. Such a fantastic run of form and this was gravely disappointing

We bottled it simple as that . We have no leaders on the field and just wasted our chances .

Martial is not a centre forward. It's no good scoring one if you are going to waste three other easy opportunities.

Rashford wasteful as well.

At the back we are terrible . Shaw isn't good enough nor is Lindelof and Captain Marvel is a waste of time . Nice job by him on the corner marking absolutely no one in a Southampton shirt

Southampton were annoying and harassed us all night and deserved a point because we just blew so many chances
I thought Martial was very good.

But yes, him and Rashford really do waste chances. Alot of them.

Greenwood was invisible too. We would have been better off taking him out earlier and putting another central midfielder/workhorse in. That way we wouldn't have conceded so much possession.

Martial is both sides of the coin dude.
Played awesome and didn't finish all his chances. Happens. Greenwood was a ghost. Bruno pretty ineffective but energetic. Pogba v sloppy at times. Rashford pretty good.

Martial was easily the best of the bunch. Wish others could have stepped up also.

5 games with the same players.. and tonight we paid the price. Saw it last game even.. players can't function 100% while being pushed to the limit like this. But this is not a disaster. I'd still say we are favorites to take 3 place. Southampton played well, as most teams do when they read the name "Manchester United".

Chelsea must be fecking delighted. Got slapped up and expected to be out of the top 4. Suddenly they're where they started with a guaranteed 3 points coming up and United and Leicester will play each other...
Don't forget Chelsea still has games against Wolves and Liverpoo left.

Expected a very tough game, Got a very tough game.
Horrible passing all around. We had our moments, but we couldn't finish them.

Lot of tired players from this encounter for sure. Ole has his task cut out getting players ready for multiple games coming up fast.

They were knackered I think... And Southampton are a good side.
They're 12th. Can't be that great.

I think heads were gone. It's what, the sixth or seventh time we drop points right after Chelsea do so as well? It cannot be dismissed as a coincidence anymore. We're basically Arsenal: can play pretty stuff when under no pressure.

Anther thing. Matic is an idiot for giving away the corner away. Literally, it was De Gea's to take under no pressure.

Got what we deserve, Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Pogba and Fernandes were absolutely nowhere near it.

These lads don't want top 4. Ole challenged our team, no one should outrun a United team, well they just did and with better players they'd have beat us.
Lindelof was our best player tonight and it wasn’t even close. Martial missed a sitter and messed up another great chance all he had to was lay it off to Greenwood and it’s 3-1 but the selfish git decided it be better to hit it into row Z
