    Losing to Comeback Winning!
how did Timbo do? would you put Williams back in if fit?
Timbo did well, don't remember Townsend making any meaningful attacks. Suspect positionally once, the offside Ayew goal. But overall he's fine. I think his instruction is to mark Townsend out of the game, and that he did.

Also made many overlapping runs, but kinda pointless as the teams are not using it and Crystal defended in numbers. At least, we know his fitness is there. He kept his passings safe.

    Definitely lacking match sharpness.

I would put Williams back, but in back 5, Wing back.

Considering the fact that a) he hasn't played 1st team PL football in ages, b) he was out of position, he did well. Palace was a good start for him IMO. They aren't that bad a side and mistakes were to be expected.

The criticism he got on here was clearly disproportionate. He'll be better for the outing in terms of confidence and awareness.

Let's hope for the TFM that Sane said was his toughest opponent a year ago or so

That was when he was decent. The current Lingard in the starting line up is like playing with 10 men.
Against a good seasoned Chelsea team, I can't see Lingard making any kind of impact. His speed and fitness could be useful in the latter stages if we're closing down the game but starting and influencing the game....I'm not convinced

At 0-3 Leicester will defo lose vs spurs now. Which now totally changes our points requirements in PL.

Am totally changing my view on team selection for today: hope Ole goes as strong as he dares in terms of team selection! Play them all!!!

Given Ole still has time to change his mind (team required one hour before kick off) I wonder if Kane goals will have changed his mind?!

I can’t see the manager changing the team last minute.

I expect he will go strong, and that was his plan all along.

Are we worried too much about players fitness ?

After 3 months of rest and recovery they should be in a good shape and excited to play last 3 games in a week time.
Absolutely. This is my first post in matchday threads and the first time in a long time I read a matchday thread and the first page got me dissappionted already. I'm sorry but what the feck are you talking about guys with "reserves please", "rest the first XI" " Happy to miss out on the FA cup" etc.

The players rested already for more than 3 months and they should be ok to play 1 or 2 more games. Especially when it's a cup semi-final and final.

Chelsea will definitely be up for this one as they've already lost 3 times against us this season and this is also their only chane to win a cup this season. I hope we at least match their desire in this game with our team selection & on field performance and don't treat this as an ordinary game.

We should back to winning things and also take our FA Cup crown back from Arsenal. And there's not a better way to do it than doing it against them. We should do everything we can to finish the season with FA Cup & Europa League wins imo. And both are very doable.

I'm pumped as feck for this game. Hope Ole & players don't disappoint me. C'mon UNİTED!!!!

Going from a break that long (with very little warm-up) into a very intensive run of games is not good.

Agreed and Ole can afford to add a couple of additional first team players after spurs leading 3-0 as we can get away with 2 draws against Westeam and Leicester(though I want 2 wins in this matches)

This is our best chance to win a cup so let’s go for it

    Both teams are kinda random.

I do not understand why Pogba is the one to get rested, Bruno should have been the one to get a match off.

Bruno and Wan-Bissaka is a bad decision. My first time criticising Ole since he took over but that is the wrong call and could end up hurting us. I admire him wanting the cup and I guess Leicester getting tonked here gives us a little room to manoeuvre but those two have looked absolutely shattered for 3 games already.

Three at the back and split strikers. A tactic that’s worked before for us in these games and allows us to rest a couple.

    Come on United.

If the game is tied at the hour, we can bring on Pogba, Martial and Greenwood; and they only have Pulisic. We will win if the match goes deep.

That team doesn't inpsire a huge amount of confidence. But I get it, the FA Cup isn't the priority

That's not true. We're level on GD now but Leicester are ahead on goals scored by 4. So two draws would only work if the West Ham result was a 5-5 or higher..

Edit: I'm wrong. This has never happened before.

back 3 it is, i was wondering when he'll go for a this setup. Thought he might try set us up against Southampton in such way.
I think we'll beat them by a goal.

Surprised to see Fernandes start but at least Pogba and Martial are getting a rest.

Pulisic on the bench, too - clearly Lampard also has an eye on midweek.

I wonder if James will go into the left channel because he seems to play better from the left.

5 changes from the last game? Looks like 5 at the back which worked v Chelsea before. Hope the risk of playing leg weary players pays off.
